Chapter 139 - Chapter 139: A Pet on the Level of a God [bonus]

Kael's teleport waypoint had been set to Windwail Highland, right on the border between Mondstadt and Liyue.

From there, it was normally a walk through Bishui Plain to reach Liyue Harbor.

But the moment he stepped into Liyue territory, the System map automatically revealed the entire Liyue region along with all of its waypoints.

He could even teleport straight to Liyue Harbor if he wanted.

Still, since they were already here, there was no way he wasn't making a stop at Wangshu Inn.

With the travel time cut down, they had plenty of hours to spare.

No need to rush straight to Liyue Harbor.

After tapping the teleport button, Kael blinked once and appeared at the Windwail Highland waypoint.

He reached his consciousness into the Serenitea Pot, ready to release Xiangling and Mona.

The moment he looked inside, he saw both girls staring at the ground in utter shock.

"The aura on that creature is incredibly strong… this is already at the level of a god."

Mona's voice trembled with excitement.

Xiangling wasn't as sensitive to Strength and energy, but she stared at the small creature on the ground with familiarity.

Why… why did it look exactly like a tiny version of the Lord of Geo she'd seen at every Rite of Descension?

Kael released the two of them from the pot.

Both girls were still frozen in surprise.

"Brother… that creature inside the pot… that was your pet? Why does it look so much like…"

Kael wasn't surprised she recognized Little Gold's resemblance to Rex Lapis.

She was from Liyue, after all.

Who in Liyue hadn't seen Morax's true form?

"Yes," Kael said calmly.

Mona's eyes sparkled. "Put me back in! I want to study it more!"

A creature strong enough to compare to a god wasn't something she could examine every day. She wanted to make the most of this chance.

"There'll be plenty of opportunities. For now, we need to get moving."

Kael shut down her enthusiasm immediately.

Even he hadn't fully figured out Little Gold yet.

Rejected, Mona puffed out her cheeks.

They started walking.

In the game, going from Windwail Highland to Wangshu Inn took a few minutes.

But in reality, Teyvat was vastly larger.

It took several hours of travel for the three of them to reach Bishui Plain.

The moment they crossed into Liyue, Kael's map updated instantly.

Every waypoint in Liyue appeared in front of him.

Now he could teleport freely anywhere in the region.

Kael placed Mona and Xiangling back into the Serenitea Pot.

If he could teleport, why bother walking?

Another blink later, Kael stood at the entrance of Wangshu Inn.

He marvelled again.

This System map was ridiculous.

With it, living anywhere in any nation would be effortless.

And once he finished decorating the Serenitea Pot…

he wouldn't even need a house.

He could just live inside the Pot and travel with Amber and the others.

The thought alone made him smile.

He released Mona and Xiangling again.

Mona looked unwilling to leave.

She'd secretly touched Little Gold's scales earlier—the smooth, warm feel…

She desperately wanted to study it more.

Kael stepped onto the inn's elevator platform with the two girls.

He planned to stay here a few days and enjoy Liyue's scenery.

At the front desk stood a graceful woman. She saw them approach and greeted them warmly.

"Hello, welcome to Wangshu Inn. I'm Verr Goldet. How may I assist you?"

"Hello. I'd like to book three of your best rooms."

"Each room is fifty thousand Mora per night. Is that alright?"

"Yes."

It wasn't cheap, but considering this was one of Liyue's most famous inns, with an incredible view, the price made sense.

"That expensive?"

Mona gasped.

Three rooms for one night cost as much as her monthly salary.

"I think two rooms would be enough…"

Her face heated up.

She could share a room with Kael…

Xiangling nodded. "That's right, Brother. Two rooms are fine. I can share with Mona. It's nice to have a companion."

Kael considered it. Both girls were suggesting it, so he nodded.

"Then two rooms. Xiangling and Mona will share one."

Mona thought, That's not what I meant…

Kael pulled out his pouch of Mora. "We'll book two nights first."

"Of course. Here are your keys. I'll show you the rooms."

As they followed Verr Goldet upstairs, Mona shot Kael a tiny glare from behind.

Hmph.

Such a clueless man.
