Gabriel
"I hope you are maintaining your distance with that Fernandes" Dad grumbled suddenly.
Here we go again, this the hundreth time in this week he has asked me. Why does he bother me unnecessarily? Why does he hate the Fernandes so much. What's that bother him more about Sam!
"She is just a friend father!" I retorted.
"Better she just be a friend, because she is our rival's daughter" He mocked.
What do you mean rivals daughter? What does he think of himself? She is the only one who cares for me and the only one who matters the most to me. You see dad she will be more than just my friend soon!
I grabbed my bag and exited my house. The driver dropped me to school.
My parents never fail to make my day more bad. As I entered my classroom, my eyes roamed to search only one figure. HER!
She stood there near the cupboard but my eyes cannot take the boy next to her! Ivan! Why he is here? So early? Ofcourse he is trying to win over her.
I stepped towards them . They both turned to look me.
"Hey Gabriel" Ivan greeted with a wide smile. I ignored him and stood next to Sam. This guy!
Sam didn't looked to me. She just kept staring at Ivan.
Something is off today about her! She didn't greeted me.. She didn't even look towards me! Did I did something wrong? What does this guy has done now?
"I should go now" Ivan said and walked off.
"Yeah get off" I muttered.
"Can you please stop that Gabriel?" She said irritated.
"Stop what?" I asked confused.
"Stop this, Don't you act too innocent" She said.
"I don't know what you are talking about" I said.
"Then, why did you removed Ivan from the upcoming match which is next week!" She yelled.
I went numb. Did he told her about this. Yes! I removed Ivan from the team as being the captain. Despite him being one of the best player in our team I still kicked him out. I don't want Sam cheering for him. Or near her in any way! I know why he was here now early, filling her ears. But it's still my fault because I kicked him out. But this is all her!
"It was authorities call!" I lied.
"Don't you lie! He is one of the best players in the team, how can he be escorted by the authorities!" She said. I couldn't find words to lie ahead because I have been trapped now! She is right! But how do I tell her this is all for her.
I don't want him near her at all!
I stood there still unable to answer ahead. She turned angrily and went to her seat and sat. Shoot! I made a mistake! I got killed in my own trap! But what else can I do..
I went to her and sat beside her. Mam came and the class started. My eyes keep drifting to her. She was scribbling something in her diary in which she wrote all her poems. She didn't even glanced at me once. I even called her but she kept being unbothered.
She got up and went to washroom keeping her diary aside. As she went out I picked up her diary and started to read what she wrote.

The one who cares.

The one who makes my day, who sees through me.
You have been my peace, the reason to smile.
The only one I would keep returning back even after getting lost in the meadows.

I don't know whether I am too the reason behind those smile of yours.

A confession! For who is this for? Me? Ivan? No.. no.. it can't be him!
I closed the book immediately when I saw her entering the class. She glanced towards me then averted her gaze within a second like she doesn't care about me. I can't bear her being quite and angry to me. Non it's nothing like that she is just upset, you need to calm down boy!
How can I be calm! I can't bear her silence anymore.
She sat at her seat without even giving any attention to me.
After few minutes the bell rang and it was break time. Finally I can talk to her now.
Sam
I am angry on him! How can he do that. Even if he didn't like Ivan , he could have just ignored him but removing him from the team is insane! What kind of sportsman do that! Ofcourse not a real sportmanship. I am just curious what makes him do this. How far I know that Gabriel isn't kind of this guy. But when I asked him he lied and it can be seen through his eyes. I know when he lies.
I know he doesn't like when I talk to Ivan but this isn't how it works. It wasn't his fault and first and foremost Ivan is just a friend to me. But this guy has to make this difficult for me, for him.
I got up to walk into the canteen. He already left the class. He kept calling me but I didn't responded. I can't help being angry towards him so I started writing poems in my diary.
As I was passing from the terrace staircase, someone immediately pulled me towards the stairs. I wriggled to get rid of the hold dragging me upstairs.
"Shh! Just come with me" Gabriel whispered.
What the hell is this guy doing now!
"You are insane! What the heck Gabriel!" I muttered.
He led me to the terrace. We both stood in near the iron railing bordering the terrace.
"I am sorry, I made a mistake" He apologized.
"Ohh, you got to know it which huh?" I said raising my one eyebrow.
"Look I wasn't going to do that but, that guy keeps sticking to you for no reason and don't feel is good to even talk!" He grumbled.
"What do you mean! He is just a friend Gabriel, why do you only feel different towards him? I said.
"It's just he isn't good for you Sam! I don't want to see him near you" He exclaimed.
"Why! What's the reason you keep telling me to stay away from him?" I yelled.
He grabbed me by my waist and pushed me towards him. I bumped onto his chest and held his shoulders for support. He held me by my waist tightly.
"Leave me Gabriel, what are you doing" I tried to get off.
"Can't you do what I say! You said I am not just an another friend of yours then why don't you listen to me" He said leaning closer to me. Now there's hardly any space left between us. I felt his breath on my face as he spoke.
"Because what you did was wrong!" I retorted.
"I know, but still I don't want you near him! Do you understand." He growled which made me flinched. His voice turned wild as he spoke. What has happened to him? Why he is acting so strange?
"Leave me" I said and he kept staring my face like he is taking in something.
"Don't you ever say that! How can a body leave without her soul and you, you are my soul, my peace, my only Sam!" He said.
I went silent after hearing that from him. What does he mean? Why does he sounds so different?
His soul! Me? How?
