Chambord Islands
The crew arrived at the Chambord Islands, a unique archipelago situated near the Red Line, whose most distinctive feature is the Yarchiman Mangrove. This massive mangrove forest comprises 79 numbered trees, each large enough to support its own ecosystem and town. The trees continuously secrete a special natural resin due to respiration. This resin forms soap-like bubbles when exposed to air and, due to their lightness, they float into the sky. However, these bubbles can only remain intact within the climate of the Chambord Islands once they leave the designated climatic zone, they burst due to the change in atmospheric pressure and temperature.
These 79 mangrove trees collectively form the archipelago known as the "Chambord Islands," which serves as the final checkpoint before entering the New World via Fish-Man Island beneath the Red Line.
The regional division is clearly established according to tree numbers:
Numbers 1 to 29 are illegal zones, infamously known for human auctions and slave trafficking largely operated by the World Nobles and shady underworld brokers.
Numbers 30 to 39 host amusement parks, including bubble-themed entertainment attractions.
Numbers 40 to 49 are tourist-friendly zones known for selling souvenirs and bubble-related crafts.
Numbers 50 to 59 serve as industrial ship-coating yards, where vessels are coated with resin to allow undersea navigation.
Numbers 60 to 69 are strictly controlled by the World Government and the Marine Headquarters, containing government offices and barracks.
Numbers 70 to 79 include hotel districts, bustling marketplaces, and general public accommodations.
"Let's go directly to islands 70 to 79," Rin commanded, steering clear of the more chaotic or high-security zones. Right now, they needed rest and replenishment, and the hotel district offered just that.
"Yes, Captain," Casa replied firmly, directing the ship smoothly toward the appropriate zone.
The crew stayed at the hotel district for several days, resting and resupplying their food stocks. With preparations complete, they set their course toward Fish-Man Island, following the traditional undersea route beneath the Red Line.
"Casa, take the ship to islands 50 to 59 now. We need to get the vessel coated before heading to Fish-Man Island," Rin instructed. The coating process was essential—without it, their ship would be crushed by water pressure in the depths.
"Yes, Captain." Casa nodded and moved swiftly to carry out the order.
"Rin, things will only get harder from here," Artoria said, emerging from the cabin. She handed Rin a glass of water and sat beside him. Her tone was gentle but serious.
"From the day I chose to become a pirate, I was prepared for anything." Rin's words were steady, his determination unwavering. Since the moment he was reborn into this world, he knew that the seas would test him constantly. Just as the World Government attempted to manipulate him by offering a position among the Seven Warlords (Shichibukai), thinking he'd bow to their influence, they underestimated his resolve. He was not one to be tamed.
"Well, ever since the day you awakened me, I knew your destiny would be extraordinary. You're still not at the level of the Four Emperors yet, but I believe that one day, they'll all kneel before you." Artoria's cheeks flushed pink as she spoke, her eyes downcast.
"When did you get so good at flattery?" Rin teased, pulling her close and wrapping his arms around her waist. Artoria blushed even more.
"I'm serious…" Her voice was soft barely a whisper but Rin heard every word.
"No matter what happens from here on out, I swear Rin Pandora will never let you be harmed." He leaned in, whispering into her ear.
"Hmm." Artoria nodded, hugging him tightly. In her heart, she wished this moment could last forever. After a while, she quietly slipped from his arms and hurried back into the cabin, giggling softly with a joyful smile across her face.
Five minutes later
...
"Captain, the hull's ready to be coated," Casa announced.
"Good. Let's look around first I'm starving. Let's find somewhere to eat. Enel! Artoria!" Rin called for the two to join him. He wasn't in the mood to cook, and since they were docked near a populated zone, they figured they could find a restaurant nearby.
The four of them wandered through the coating district between islands 50 and 59, but surprisingly, it was filled almost entirely with shipyards and resin-coating facilities no eateries in sight.
"Seriously? This whole place is just shipyards. Not even a food stall in sight," Rin muttered, frustrated by the gnawing hunger in his belly.
"It's fine. We've got plenty of Berries." Artoria patted her pouch proudly. It held around 3,000 Berries the ship's treasury was currently under her management, and she'd brought some just in case.
"Alright then, let's keep looking," Rin said, reluctantly pressing on.
"Looking for a restaurant?" a young girl nearby overheard and approached them with a smile.
"That's right, little one. Do you know if there's a restaurant around here?" Casa bent down and asked her gently.
"There's one on Island 56! It's hidden inside the Ali Shipyard. My dad took me there before," the girl replied cheerfully.
"No way… We passed through that island already and didn't see a thing," Casa said, puzzled.
"That's because it's inside the shipyard it's kind of hidden," she clarified. "But it's definitely there."
"Well, thank you very much!" Artoria took out 10 Berries from her pouch and handed them to the girl as a token of gratitude.
"Thanks, big sis!" The girl grinned and darted off, excitedly waving the money as she ran home.
"Let's move Island 56 it is. I could eat a Sea King at this point," Rin declared, dragging the others along as they made their way toward the only restaurant in the industrial zone.
