BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Profile: As usual for Black Cabal Members, Karna's past is an absolute mystery to Rhodes Island or any other government or institution in the world.
Karna's first official appearance was two years ago, in the desert north of Sargon, where he protected a caravan of merchants that was threatened by wild beasts.
Once the caravan was escorted to the nearest city, Karna began travelling south.
During his eight-month-long journey across the entire Sargon, Karna rendered his services to the people, performing a great number of acts of courage, charity and altruism.
The humblest citizens, merchants and even the elite of society were helped in one way or another by Karna.
Soon in the deserts of Sargon the legend of the Holy Karna, Hero of Charity, was born, becoming a rather famous figure.
At an unspecified time, Karna arrived in the Foehn Hotlands south of Sargon, an area infested with unusual monsters, called Collapsals or Andskotarnir.
What happened there remains a mystery to all except Karna himself and the members of the Black Cabal.
But there are signs of intense fighting that has left many people shocked, with dozens of kilometers of desert transformed into a sea of glass and a huge smoking crater the size of a small city.
After the birth of the glass ocean which became an area of interest for Sargon, Karna was sighted in the northern reaches of Yan.
Soon, Karna ended up helping the garrison city, Yumen, repel a wave of Collapsals occupying the northern deserts.
Karna's help was a factor in reducing the number of established casualties by 85%, so he received a dinner invitation from the magistrate general of Yumen, Zuo Xuanliao, and the military grandmaster, Chongyue.
For a year, Karna remained in Yan, most of the time he was often around Yumen, fighting alongside the Yan Imperial Guards and the Tianshi elite against various threats to Yumen and the rest of Yan.
During this stay in Yumen, Chongyue, one of our future Operators, considered by all to be the greatest martial artist in the world who masters all of Yan's kung fu and military philosophy, declares Karna to be his equal in the martial arts.
Hundreds of witnesses have spoken of the training fights between Chongyue and Karna, as if they were two war goddesses in human flesh or two legendary masters displaying the highest level of martial arts.
When a period of tranquility came to the northern deserts, Karna left the garrison city Yumen, but not before one last fight against Chongyue, which lasted two days and three nights, ending in a draw.
After that, Karna was spotted in the territory of the Ursus, where he became a rather infamous character, unlike Sargon and Yan.
During his four-month stay in the Ursus, Karna freed a large number of infected from captivity in the Originium mines and escorted them out of the Ursus.
After several incidents within Ursus territory, which are of deep embarrassment to the anti-infected and pro-war factions, Karna has gone to the frozen Infy Ice Field, one of the most dangerous and distant areas of Ursus, a place full of Collapsals.
Since then, Karna has not been seen anywhere, many people thought he died in the Infy Ice Field, fighting the Collapsals.
The Ursus elite was immensely raised one less threat to them.
The Yamen made bets on when Karna would return.
In some areas of Sargon some people built shrines to Karna, paying homage to him.
Then, both groups of the three nations were left speechless when they discovered that Karna was working as a "secret weapon" of the Black Cabal.
Clinical Analysis:

According to the Witch of Gula medical department, Karna is as fit as a fiddle, not infected, and possesses no unusual biological characteristics.
[I find Gavial's drive to take on any kind of challenge, all so he can perform a medical check-up on a member of the Black Cabal, admirable.
Unfortunately, no one on Rhodes Island expected that Gavial's challenge would be to defeat Karna in a chariot race.
At least we know what to expect next time.

Operator Lancer, aka Karna, is one of our best field agents, extremely skilled in combat, he follows orders to the letter without hesitation or fear.
Karna's record shows a 90% success rate, despite his social shortcomings, extensive damage to public property, and inexperience with modern technology.
As a precaution, when Karna must carry out a mission in a densely populated area, it is mandatory that he be accompanied by two Operators, one good at diplomacy and another capable with technology.
Rhodes Island cannot allow one of its best Operators to sour hard-built relationships or burn down every obstacle that stands between itself and the Operation's objective.

When commanded, he acts as if the very concept of challenge does not exist.
I appreciate this trait of his, I wish some of my more impulsive and turbulent colleagues would take an example from him.
At first glance his personality seems cold, indifferent and ruthless, Karna is a good person.
If you can believe it, he's pretty good at making pizza and other flour-based foods.

I was even happier to discover that there are other martial arts users in the Black Cabal and that they want to measure my skills against me.

One of Karna's most powerful and destructive abilities is his ability to generate fire.
The name of this ability is Mana Burst (Flame), we found out that there are several elemental variants, but that's a subject for another discussion.
Looking at Karna, we understood that a basic use of Mana Burst is to put magical energy into weapons.
In Karna's case, the burning flames become magical energy that dwells within the weapon he uses.
This Ability is usually active and all weapons Karna wields receive this effect.
It can use this ability to fly.
At full power, the flames can be used by Karna in a charging attack, capable of crushing most enemies and obstacles in a single blow.
Receiving Saver's approval and upgrading a training room with the best technology and fireproof equipment, we are attempting to teach Mana Burst (Flame) to some of our Operators.
Karna is not a great teacher in explaining how to use a technique that for him is like breathing, but there is always a member of the Black Cabal who tries to lend a hand.
[As the head instructor, I have been overseeing this project to share techniques among the allies. The candidates chosen to participate in this project are: Lava, Ifrit, Reed, Skyfire.
Amiya is very excited about this, considering it a sign of trust and a step forward to improve the relationship with the Black Cabal.
So far, all four candidates are showing serious improvements in their fighting skills and fire casting.

The girls' improvements are the result of their own efforts and the advice offered by my teammates, I did very little.

After three months of trial and error, two of the four candidates have managed to replicate the Mana Burst (Flame), via Originium Arts.
Operator Reed managed to replicate Mana Burst (Flame), being able to increase his physical abilities and the durability of his weapons, but probably due to a psychological block the power of his flames did not increase, even if his control of flames reached new heights.
Operator Ifrit has succeeded in his own way, partially recreating Mana Burst (Flame), the physical potential was a failure, in return the power of his flames Ifrit has surpassed his record, inventing new methods to utilize his fire.
The achievements of Reed and Ifrit increased the interest of the Black Cabal in them, especially their leader, who decides to start the project: Basic Magecraft for Operator.
Suzuran, Shamare, Eyjafjalla, Ifrit, Reed and other Operators with some potential or arcane sensitivity have been invited to see if they can learn Magecraft or create their own version of it using Originium Arts as a base.

Karna told me that his Master has taken a liking to me, because I bear a vague resemblance to a woman named Scáthach. He even gave me a new crimson spear to improve my Originium Arts and learn some new tricks.

For a long time we thought that Kavacha and Kundala, Karna's unusual armor were an artifact from ancient times that grant immense resistance.
Closure has discovered the secret of Karna's armor, it reduces all damage taken to one-tenth of its original value.
How exactly the process of reducing damage by 90% works is a mystery to everyone, even Karna himself, who has spent his entire life wearing that armor, cannot explain how it works.
The engineering department has invented various theories such as quantum string manipulation, an invisible force field, or absurd things like subjective alteration of time.
Karna's armor, like the rest of the Black Cabal's "Artifacts", are black boxes to us.

Yesterday something unexpected happened, Ifrit found a mysterious book, called: The Mahabharata.
The book is a narrative poemprimarily about theCivil Warbetween two factions, the Kauravas and the Pandavas of the Kuru dynasty who areRoyal Cousins. It is popularly said to be written by the sage andAuthor Avatar"Ved-Vyasa".
The Pandavasare five brothers, plus Draupadi, their wife, and Krishna,the eighth incarnation of Vishnu.
The Leader/Big Brother Mentor— Yuddhisthira. The hero with many flaws, who nevertheless emerges asThe Heartas he realizes the futility of war.
The Big Guy— Bhima. A brutal, violent fighter who is blessed with superhuman strength. He is able to withstand any enemy and fight without surrendering.
The Lancer/Archer Archetype— Arjuna. Filled with doubts regarding the justness of war, he seeks guidance from Krishna in the most famous section of theMahabharata, theBhagavad Gita.
Tagalong Kids— Nakula and Sahadeva. The Smart Guy: Krishna. Also theMan Behind the Manand theXanatos Speed ChessMasterof this entire epic.
The Heart- Draupadi. Instead of a peacemaker however, she brings them closer to war. Shikhandi, formerly Amba, the eldest princess of Kasi, in his previous life. Once Bhishma rejected her, Amba became reborn as Shikhandi to exact revenge for her humiliation.
The Kauravasconsist of the numerous sons of Dhritarashtra and their allies. These are the main ones:
The Big Bad— Duryodhana. The leader of the Kauravas, he refuses to return the Pandavas' rightfully owned land after their exile, and ultimately serves as the catalyst for war.
The Dragon— Karna. Technically the realBig Brother Mentorof the Pandavas. He is Kunti's firstborn son (but was abandoned due to his being born out of wedlock), but even after he finds out, he sticks with the Kauravas out of loyalty. The Pandavas find out only after he dies at their hands.
Evil Genius/Evil Uncle— Shakuni. He is the one who persuades Yuddhishtira to continue the dice game, and later persuades Duryodhana to go to war with the Pandavas.
The Brute— Dushasana. He attempts to humiliate Draupadi in front of the court, and remains one of the most brutal fighters in the war.
This book raised questions for those who read it.
Were Karna and his brother named after characters from the Mahabharata or does the Mahabharata recount a real event in the form of a fairy tale?
[In the book the character Karna is killed by Arjuna, but Karna-nii is alive and well, this means it's just a coincidence, right?
