He has been denying everything ever since he found himself back in his cell. Simon didn't believe that everything that had just happened was the truth. How could that even make sense?
What kind of ridiculousness was that?
How could his mother, so devoted that after his father died settled at the temple to pray for him as well as other people?
His mother wasn't an angel and carried some ruthlessness, but that was only directed towards those who mean harm to the family. Perhaps, doing something bad before she became a devoted worshipper would have made sense, but the charges she just agreed to were simply ridiculous.
He refused to believe that his mother would be so ruthless to kill her own younger sister just for the sake of keeping a secret. They were siblings. Wouldn't it have worked if they had promised each other to keep it a secret?
How could she do that?
