I had high hopes for it, but it proved rather underwhelming," Mayuri Kurotsuchi remarked with a hint of disappointment from within the Hueco Mundo Technical Development Bureau.
Yusuke chuckled, "Indeed, a shame. However, the data gathered from the experiment should be sufficient.
Aside from the number one experimental subject and the number five, which I eliminated, the other three fully unleashed the Hōgyoku's power."
Three of the five monitors displaying the experimental subjects were now dark, corresponding to Gonaldo, Barboni, and Etaki, who had all been defeated.
The remaining monitors showed Devicca, engaged in a fierce battle with Gin Ichimaru, and the number four experimental subject, facing Komamura Sajin and Tōsen Kaname.
After a grueling battle, Komamura Sajin and Tōsen Kaname, both severely injured, successfully depleted the number four experimental subject's Dōgyoku energy. The subject subsequently disintegrated with the Dōgyoku's destruction.
Yusuke's attention was drawn to the battle between Gin Ichimaru and Devicca.
The experimental subjects were numbered according to their spiritual pressure. As the number two experimental subject, Devicca possessed spiritual pressure second only to Gonaldo.
Even this powerful Arrancar was completely overwhelmed by Gin Ichimaru, clearly on the defensive.
On the battlefield, Gin Ichimaru pursued Devicca, his long sword extending and retracting with incredible speed, utilizing the adaptable length of his Zanpakutō, Shinsō, to create the effect of a spear.
Devicca, having activated her second Resurrección, resembled a harpy; her arms transformed into wings engulfed in flames, her legs into sharp talons, her entire being radiating immense spiritual pressure.
Despite this powerful transformation, she remained no match for Gin Ichimaru, struggling to keep pace.
"Shoot to kill, Shinsō!"
A flash of killing intent in his eyes, Gin Ichimaru's long sword lashed out with incredible speed, striking Devicca like a relentless rain of blows.
Shinsō could extend and retract at 500 times the speed of sound, making evasion exceedingly difficult.
Devicca, having previously experienced Shinsō's power, knew she couldn't escape unscathed.
"If you want my life, then we'll die together!"
Devicca, steeling her resolve, mobilized her maximum spiritual pressure, drawing immense power from her Dōgyoku.
Golden-red veins pulsed across her body, her eyes blazed with fire, the flames on her wings intensified, and her flowing golden hair ignited like flames.
"King Hollow's Flash: Enkyō Flash!"
Devicca unleashed a golden-red Cero radiating intense heat, directly at Gin Ichimaru.
This Cero contained Devicca's entire spiritual pressure. Even Gin Ichimaru was forced to respond with everything he had.
His usually half-closed eyes snapped open, and his serpentine smile vanished.
His spiritual pressure surged, his killing intent locking onto Devicca.
Devicca felt a chill as Gin Ichimaru's aura intensified, but before she could react, a sharp pain pierced her chest—his sword had pierced her Dōgyoku.
"Shinsō, Hyapponzashi."
Gin Ichimaru's voice, calm and devoid of emotion, echoed after Devicca had suffered the fatal blow, highlighting the incredible speed of his attack.
His long sword extended hundreds of meters, cleaving Devicca's Cero in two, piercing her body, and shattering her depleted Hōgyoku.
"You… you…"
Devicca attempted to speak, but her words remained unfinished as her body dissolved into flames.
After eliminating Devicca, Gin Ichimaru's eyes narrowed once more, his signature serpentine smile returning.
Suddenly, a man's voice echoed from behind him.
"Captain Ichimaru's strength is truly remarkable. He single-handedly defeated such a powerful opponent."
Gin Ichimaru slowly turned, revealing Yusuke, having just left the Hueco Mundo Technical Development Bureau.
Gin Ichimaru, having immediately investigated the unusual spiritual pressure emanating from the experimental Arrancar, hadn't returned to the Seireitei and was unaware of Yusuke's assigned support role.
A captain-level Shinigami should have arrived much earlier to assist.
However, due to the need to observe the experimental Arrancar's combat data, and Gin Ichimaru's unawareness of the Seireitei's deployment strategy, Yusuke's late arrival went unnoticed.
"Captain Uchiha, did you also sense the unusual spiritual pressure and come to investigate?" Gin Ichimaru asked.
Yusuke smiled. "I was dispatched by the Captain-Commander to support you, Captain Ichimaru, but it seems I arrived a step too late."
Gin Ichimaru nodded, accepting the explanation, and together they returned to the Seireitei to report.
With Devicca's defeat, all five experimental Arrancar were eliminated, fulfilling Yusuke and Mayuri Kurotsuchi's objective of gathering data on the Dōgyoku.
The Seireitei classified the incident as a clandestine, forbidden experiment, with Kisuke Urahara, the first suspect.
Kisuke Urahara, a master of scientific misdirection, had taken the blame for Aizen, and now, indirectly, for Yusuke.
The Seireitei had previously turned a blind eye to Kisuke Urahara's activities; a captain-level expert with Yoruichi Shihōin and Tessai Tsukabishi's support was difficult to apprehend.
However, this incident convinced the Seireitei's high command that Kisuke Urahara was too dangerous to allow to roam freely, prompting a full-scale search for him.
Evidence suggested Kisuke Urahara might have fled to Karakura Town in the Human World, leading the Gotei 13 to station Captain Shiba Isshin there long-term.
Upon discovering Kisuke Urahara, they were to immediately report to the Captain-Commander, who would then dispatch sufficient forces for his capture.
Meanwhile, Aizen, having received the frenzied Hollow samples from Yomei Kagawa, analyzed the connection between the Hollows' raging energy and the Hōgyoku's capabilities.
The Dōgyoku was a lower-spec version of the Hōgyoku, primarily focused on Hollow enhancement. Therefore, Hollows empowered by the Dōgyoku would retain a similar spiritual pressure signature to the Hōgyoku itself.
Finding no evidence of Kisuke Urahara's involvement in creating the Arrancar, Aizen suspected Hueco Mundo as the origin, further solidifying his belief that the Hueco Mundo king possessed a Hōgyoku.
