"Captain-Commander, this incident is highly unusual. I recommend dispatching additional powerful Kidō experts for support, to handle any unforeseen circumstances."
After the selection of the captains to be dispatched, Captain Kyōraku Shunsui of the 8th Division stated calmly.
Captain-Commander Yamamoto Genryūsai indicated he had already considered this, and two men in ornate robes entered the Captain's meeting hall.
The taller, more powerfully built man in the lead, wearing a blue robe and rectangular glasses, with a prominent mustache, was the head of the Kidō Corps, Head Kidō Captain Tessai Tsukabishi.
Half a step behind Tessai was a portly, kind-faced man in a pink robe.
His considerable girth made the pink robe look like a woman's shoulder pads, a rather comical sight.
This was the vice-head of the Kidō Corps, Vice Kidō Captain Hachigen Ushōda. His kind nature and amiable appearance made him very popular in the Seireitei. He was generally called "Hachi" or "Uncle Hachi."
"I've already requested the assistance of the two Kidō Corps leaders to join the three captains in investigating the 9th Division's disappearance. With their help, success is assured," Yamamoto Genryūsai said slowly.
Kyōraku Shunsui nodded. "But is deploying both Kidō Corps leaders really necessary? My lieutenant, Lisa Yadōmaru, is also quite skilled in Kidō. Perhaps she could replace the Head Kidō Captain?"
Kyōraku Shunsui intended to give his lieutenant an opportunity for growth, but he never anticipated that this suggestion would lead to Lieutenant Lisa Yadōmaru's unfortunate involvement in the Hollowfication experiments.
Seeing Kyōraku Shunsui's recommendation, the Captain-Commander, wanting to grant his favorite student a favor, decided it wouldn't significantly affect the mission.
Turning to Tessai Tsukabishi, Yamamoto Genryūsai asked, "Head Kidō Captain, what do you think of Captain Kyōraku's suggestion?"
Tessai Tsukabishi nodded. "Then I'll take a break."
With the arrangements finalized, a cold glint flashed in Yamamoto Genryūsai's eyes. He slammed his cane on the floor and loudly announced that the designated personnel would immediately provide support to the 9th Division vanguard and apprehend the mastermind behind the incidents.
After the meeting, the captains left the Captain's meeting hall, leaving Kisuke Urahara standing alone, looking anxious. Tessai Tsukabishi gave him a lingering look before departing.
"What's wrong? Still worried about Sarugaki?" Yoruichi Shihōin asked, approaching Kisuke Urahara.
Yoruichi Shihōin, usually cheerful, had a serious expression. She sensed something big was about to happen.
Kisuke Urahara said with bitterness, "It's my fault for being lazy. If I'd known this would happen, I shouldn't have sent Sarugaki; I should have gone myself."
Yoruichi Shihōin shook her head. "Being a Shinigami in the Gotei 13 isn't easy or safe; vice-captains have their responsibilities. As captain, you must learn to trust your subordinates, just as Captain Kyōraku demonstrated today."
"While this trust might push them beyond their capabilities, placing them in danger, it's a necessary step in cultivating future captains."
After speaking, Yoruichi Shihōin left the Captain's meeting hall, leaving Kisuke Urahara alone.
After a long moment, Kisuke Urahara sighed, "Perhaps I'm not cut out to be a captain."
Kisuke Urahara hadn't been captain of the 12th Division for long, only recently appointed before Yusuke arrived at the Seireitei, and he had established the Research and Development Institute.
Before that, he was a seated officer in the 2nd Division, working under Yoruichi Shihōin, who, appreciating his abilities, recommended him to the Captain-Commander.
After leaving the Captain's meeting hall, Kisuke Urahara, disregarding the Captain-Commander's orders, prepared to secretly search for Sarugaki. However, upon leaving the Seireitei, he was stopped by Tessai Tsukabishi, who had been waiting.
"I knew a man like you wouldn't abandon your mission for orders," Tessai Tsukabishi said slowly.
Kisuke Urahara said gravely, "Tessai, are you going to stop me too?"
Tessai Tsukabishi shook his head. "I'm going with you. We were friends when we served under Yoruichi-sama; I won't ignore your situation."
It turned out that Tessai Tsukabishi, like Kisuke Urahara, had served under Yoruichi Shihōin. As head of the Shihōin Clan, Yoruichi Shihōin had been kind to both of them when they were struggling Shinigami.
Even now, as the Head Kidō Captain, a position arguably above the Gotei 13 captains, Tessai Tsukabishi still held Yoruichi Shihōin in high regard.
Kisuke Urahara relaxed, pulling a black cloak from his pocket and handing it to Tessai Tsukabishi. "My latest invention. It completely masks spiritual pressure; we won't be detected."
Tessai Tsukabishi accepted the cloak. "You still love tinkering with these things. They can be dangerous in the wrong hands."
"Also, you're bound by the Captain-Commander's orders, but I'm not under his direct command. Don't worry about detection."
Despite this, Tessai Tsukabishi put on the black cloak.
"Then let's see who's behind this," Kisuke Urahara said coldly.
The two then vanished into the night, swiftly heading towards their destination.
Meanwhile, Hiyori Sarugaki was ambushed by Aizen and his men. The large crate was gone, and she was injured.
"Why? That Hollow…it was clearly Kensei!" Sarugaki thought anxiously as she fled.
She couldn't understand why Kensei had Hollow-like characteristics.
Then, a roar echoed, and a tall, white figure appeared behind her, launching a powerful punch.
The punch carried immense spiritual pressure; Sarugaki would be incapacitated if hit.
However, Sarugaki, despite her youthful appearance, possessed good battle instincts. She dodged the fatal blow.
But the white figure didn't stop attacking; using a sweeping arm, he sent Sarugaki flying.
