A small container ship slowly approached the jetty, and the sailors on board tossed down the ropes which the dock workers tied to the mooring posts.
The ship's crane lifted dozens of containers down one by one, stacking them in the dock's cargo yard.
A group of 'white skins' crowded forward eagerly, opening the containers and using forklifts to move the goods out.
"It's unbelievable that someday I would crave fresh tomatoes. These things used to be used to make ketchup for dipping fries, but now they've become a rare source of vitamins."
"Come on, you can't even eat fries now. There's plenty of unprocessed potatoes, but I get nauseous just seeing mashed potatoes now."
The 'white skins' crowded at the dock were noisy and clamorously discontent with the delivered goods, continually picking faults.
But who let Newport News' 'white skins' be lazy? They have plenty of military supplies to guarantee their lives, thus feeling no survival pressure.
