Master Blessed, Undying Bone Corpse...
Xu Qing had heard the name of this Venerable from more than one disciple of the Yin Corpse Sect, but in the lanterns of those disciples, the revered Master Blessed always acted mysteriously and never showed her true form.
Even when preaching from the altar, she remained hidden behind layers of curtains; even when traveling, she rode a cloud sedan chair, never revealing her true face.
Xu Qing only heard fleetingly that the voice from within the sedan chair was a woman's, and nothing more.
It wasn't until Xu Qing facilitated the passing of a young Corpse Driver who claimed to be a disciple under Master Blessed that he finally pierced through the fog and saw the so-called Master Blessed.
In the lantern, whenever the young Corpse Driver met Master Blessed after joining her, they always met through a screen and curtain.
Until one day, the Ghost Law, patrolling the Yin River, inadvertently sensed this mysterious presence by the river.
To the Ghost Law, the Yin River was its territory, and the twelve gates corresponded to twelve 'vassal kings' of the river.
In the region extending ten thousand miles around the boundary between the yin and yang realms, the Eight Banner Marshals, Doom-laden Ghost King, and Yin Corrosion Dharma King were all under the Ghost Law's authority, and it would not allow anyone to live secretively within its domain.
Just as the young Corpse Driver was listening to Master Blessed's teaching,
the Ghost Law, who ruled the ghost law and commanded myriad ghosts, came shrouded in boundless ghost fog.
Within the cloud and mist, the immense shadow of the Ghost Law appeared intermittently.
Behind the curtain, Master Blessed could barely contain her panic, hurriedly greeting the visitor, her words filled with awe and fear towards the Ghost Law.
However, the mischievous Ghost Law ignored her words, and instead used its innate divine technique to freely transform myriad ghosts, conjuring up a shadowless ghost carrying evil qi, extending its claw, and with a child's mischievous chatter, tore apart the layers of curtains before Master Blessed!
In the courtyard where Master Blessed resided, the young Corpse Driver finally saw Master Blessed's true visage.
Behind the curtain, there was no complete person, but rather a two-foot-tall blue and white vase, with a beautiful woman's head perched above its mouth.
This head could speak, its eyes could move, and its brows and eyes were picturesque and charming, yet there was no body attached, only the vase body.
The Ghost Law, intrigued, like a child finding something novel, ignored the lovely head's spells and incantations in resistance!
The Ghost Law, unheeding Master Blessed's pleas, forcibly commanded a hundred ghosts to lift her onto the ghost cloud, then cast her down from the sky.
It wanted to know what was actually inside the vase.
At that moment, Master Blessed, hidden inside the vase, fell like a fiery meteor, crashing heavily into her abode.
When the dust and smoke settled, amidst the ruins lay a lovely head linked only to organs with a neck, the organs glistening with moisture hung beneath the neck, exposed in the air, like slugs tangled together, bloody and filthy.
The Ghost Law, seeing that Master Blessed was not a ghostly being, but an incomplete human extending her life through forbidden pathways, lost interest entirely.
A bored murmur echoed from the ghost cloud, and the Ghost Law lingered no longer, commanding the myriad ghostly shadows, and vanished without a trace.
The scene was akin to a child discarding a toy when it loses interest.
After the sudden downpour, a scene of utter devastation remained.
In the graveyard ruins, only the peculiar creature with a lovely head connected to organs remained, along with the petrified young Corpse Driver.
Soon after the Ghost Law departed, the feigning-dead Master Blessed finally moved, lifting her head, she addressed the young disciple shaking like a leaf, sitting on the ground:
"Go! Quickly take me to the Sect Master's residence, where my new clothes are..."
The Sect Master was praying behind closed doors, praying for the Ghost Law not to reach him.
The young Corpse Driver called on the grave mountain for a while before the Yin Corpse Sect Master finally appeared.
"Oh! Sister Blessed, who injured you so badly?"
Master Blessed replied with a face of sullen resentment: "With such a commotion outside, you remained undisturbed."
"Sister, do not misunderstand, I was at a critical stage of secluded training, but upon hearing the disciples' cries and knowing something happened to you, I risked the danger of losing control to interrupt my cultivation..."
"Enough idle talk, the Ghost Law injured my vital organs, please fetch one of my new garments stored here, and lend me your abode, I need to retreat for healing."
Finally, Master Blessed instructed the young disciple:
"This incident must not be disclosed to outsiders, if I hear anything..."
Master Blessed's expression turned cold and stern, then she added: "Today, for your meritorious defense, you may claim a vial of Blood Essence Pill for cultivation use."
Now, through the young Corpse Driver's lantern, Xu Qing learned of Master Blessed's status and her true form behind the curtain, yet he had not once glimpsed the real appearance of the Undying Bone Corpse the Corpse Driver spoke of.
The Undying Bone, already the strongest form beneath a Flying Corpse, if compared to an immortal who has achieved enlightenment and ascended, then the Undying Bone is infinitely close to the level of a Land True Immortal, let alone zombies capable of quickly refining numerous bones.
According to "Corpse Talk," the current state of the Undying Bone, complete, is likely unmatched by even a land immortal, as for those immortals who have ascended...
They are beyond Xu Qing's consideration.
