Jerome Bonaparte was slightly taken aback upon hearing that Cowley still held the position of the British Envoy to France and then curiously asked Cowley.
"So... the ambassador at the embassy now..."
"He has already returned to Britain!" Ambassador Cowley replied in a nonchalant tone.
"Hmm..." Jerome Bonaparte hesitated, genuinely puzzled about why the Kingdom of Britain frequently replaced its ambassadors.
Ambassador Cowley had not been away from France for even a full month, and the new ambassador had arrived just two weeks ago. Yet, Ambassador Cowley had returned again, and the new ambassador at the British Embassy could hardly warm the seat before leaving.
"Alright then!" Jerome Bonaparte nodded at Ambassador Cowley and then suddenly thought of something and continued to question, "By the way, you just mentioned that the negotiating envoy is your temporary position!
