The familiar wrought-iron gates of the Montgomery Estate parted slowly as Anastasia's sleek black Mercedes-Benz S-Class glided onto the long gravel driveway. The tires crunched beneath her, the sound echoing in the still morning air. The mansion loomed ahead, its grand façade bathed in the soft glow of the early sun. Tall columns framed the entrance, and ivy clung to the stone walls, adding a touch of timeless elegance. Despite the serene surroundings, a storm brewed within her.
As she stepped inside, the cool marble floor sent a shiver up her spine. The scent of polished wood and fresh lilies filled the air. Her eyes widened at the sight before her: suitcases—labeled, neatly packed, and aligned with military precision—lined the grand hallway.
"Ma'am, your things are ready," one of the head housekeepers said, bowing slightly and offering a small smile.
She blinked, her brows knitting together. "Won't you even let me rest?"
