"Darling, I said I'm sorry!" Julian shouted dramatically out the window to Alex's horror. "You can't walk all the way home, your feet will hurt! Think about the baby. He's still delicate."
Alex froze.
People on the street slowed to gawk. A few chuckled. One person even gasped. And Alex felt like punching him.
An elderly lady walking past stopped beside her. "Miss, you should listen to your husband. Men can be fools, but you're expecting. You shouldn't be on your feet so much. Just get in the car, dear."
Mortified, Alex forced a smile and nodded politely. With every pair of eyes on her, she stiffly walked over and got into the car.
"Thank you!" Julian cheerfully waved at the elderly woman before speeding off.
"Do you have a death wish? Why would you do that?" She snapped, glaring at him.
