Chapter 219 - Chapter 218: Too Clever by Half

Although Hill was naturally clumsy, she wasn't foolish. She knew perfectly well that her mission was extremely important and could not be neglected.

And so, Hill stood by the door, and when she felt enough time had passed, she pushed it open and entered.

Inside, Sayuri, who was just preparing to steep some tea and make snacks, heard the commotion. She turned to look, observing Hill with a mix of surprise and caution, her tone not particularly polite:

"What do you want?"

Hill, true to her consistently ditzy and light-hearted demeanor, replied:

"Oh, it's like this. The three of us wanted some tea and snacks, so they asked me to prepare them."

After a few days of interaction, Sayuri had gotten to know this Night Raid trio somewhat. Her impression of Hill was quite deep: a classic ditzy girl with glasses, who would quietly read a book by herself when she had nothing to do. At first glance, she didn't seem like a killer at all; she looked more like a quiet young girl.

Because of this, Sayuri showed Hill a bit more patience and kindness. She said to Hill:

"There are clean teacups and a teapot in the cabinet. Black tea and such are on the second shelf. If you want to make tea, you'll need to boil water yourself. Some small, delicate items are on the bottom shelf."

"Mm, thank you..."

The two exchanged a few simple words like that, and soon Sayuri no longer paid attention to Hill, returning to her own work.

Hill looked at Sayuri's retreating back, then turned her back to Sayuri and began her task at the counter.

However, Hill, this natural klutz, was someone with a muddled personality who couldn't even manage basic housework!

Hill, following the method she knew, opened the cabinet door and took out the teapot and teacups. The teapot was placed safely on the table, and she then proceeded to get three more teacups.

Originally, the teacups were held firmly and steadily in Hill's hand. However, as if gravity had suddenly intensified, the teacups in Hill's hand slipped and fell for a reason even God couldn't comprehend!

The crisp sound of shattering porcelain made Sayuri, who had just left not far away, virtually jump in surprise!

Sayuri turned around and saw the shattered teacup fragments on the floor, and Hill standing beside them, completely at a loss.

Hill's panicked reaction was utterly genuine, straight from her heart. She looked at Sayuri and hastily bowed:

"I'm truly... terribly sorry!"

A drop of cold sweat trickled down her forehead. Sayuri said helplessly:

"Please, try to be a little more careful..."

"Uh... yes..."

Sayuri turned her head, resuming her work.

Hill secretly sighed in relief, then squatted down to clean up the shattered teacup fragments on the floor, carefully lifting them and tossing them into the nearby trash can.

She stood up again, looked at the counter in front of her, took a deep breath, firmed her gaze, and continued...

Having retrieved enough teacups, Hill began to heat water.

Fortunately, nothing went wrong during the water boiling process, and Hill's mood relaxed a little.

The water boiled, and next came pouring the hot water. At this point, as expected, something went wrong again. The steam from the freshly boiled hot water scalded Hill's hand, causing her to yelp, and then...

With a loud bang, Sayuri was startled, turning to look behind her.

A kettle lay on the floor, all its boiling water spilled out, still steaming. Hill's fingers were red, and she stood awkwardly to the side, fearfully glancing at Sayuri.

A large drop of cold sweat appeared on Sayuri's forehead. She couldn't help but retort:

"Please be careful, the water is very hot!"

"I'm... I'm sorry..."

Hill's tone was incredibly weak. Seeing Hill like this, Sayuri found it hard to say anything more and turned back to busy herself with her work.

Hill timidly picked up the kettle from the floor, then found a mop nearby, and frantically wiped the spilled water clean.

Helplessly, she continued to pour water, the klutz.

Fortunately, this time, nothing went wrong. She waited until the water boiled, and Hill poured out the hot water to steep the tea. The tea was almost ready, and there were no more mishaps.

Hill patted her chest, still feeling a lingering fear.

Right, there were also some snacks and similar items.

She squatted down, opened the lower cabinet, and searched inside for the snacks Sayuri had just mentioned.

After searching for a while, Hill successfully found some small biscuits. Her heart brightened, and she straightened up.

But she forgot that her head was still inside the cabinet!

With a loud thump, Hill hit her head on the cabinet as she straightened up, causing the counter above to wobble precariously. Consequently, the teapot, teacups, and other items on the counter desk all clattered down and shattered!

Tears welled in Hill's eyes. She pulled herself out of the cabinet, crouched to the side, covering the big, red bump on her head, and pitifully pouted while looking at the shattered teapot and teacup fragments scattered on the floor.

Sayuri watched all of this, her mouth twitching. Speechless for a moment, she finally said to Hill:

"You, you're not just a klutz, you're an idiot too!"

Hill pitifully pouted, offering no retort.

"Seriously, if you can't even do these things right, what can you do well?"

In response to Sayuri's question, Hill tapped her lower lip with her index finger. After a moment, she suddenly realized something and blurted out:

"I can still kill people!"

Black lines appeared all over Sayuri's head...

Looking at the scattered fragments of teacups and teapots all over the floor, Sayuri was truly helpless. She turned to look at the snacks in the oven; it would still take quite some time for them to bake properly. Sayuri rolled up her sleeves and said to Hill:

"Forget it, I'll help you!"

"Thank you..."

In stark contrast to the clumsy Hill, Sayuri nimbly began cleaning up the shattered teacups and teapot fragments from the floor. To avoid causing Sayuri any further trouble, Hill could only stand by awkwardly, watching.

Just then, something happened outside the window.

A slender rope suspended the petite Mine, slowly lowering her from above the window. She hung directly in front of this second-floor window.

Hill naturally noticed this, yet her expression remained completely unperturbed. Sayuri, who was cleaning with her back to the window, didn't notice at all.

Outside, Mine began to act. Hanging in front of the window, which happened to be open, Mine, still suspended, painstakingly extended about half of her body inside, reaching her hand towards the snacks Sayuri had prepared for Uchiha Madara.

The rope hanging from Mine's waist swayed precariously, causing Mine's entire body to become unstable. This instability even forced the nervous Mine to use all her muscles to maintain balance, and she was already panting a little.

Although her physical abilities were sealed, her previous foundation remained. Mine quickly regulated her breathing, leaned forward, and extended her hand.

With a flick of her hand, the pill hidden in her sleeve was clasped in her grasp.

Mine moved as quietly as possible. While Sayuri's back was turned to her, she silently placed the pill in her hand into the teapot, and then covered it with the lid.

Having done all this, Mine quickly pulled half of her body back outside the window, then hastily used all her strength to pull the rope tied around her waist.

On the rooftop, Leone, who was holding and pulling Mine with the rope, received the signal. She quickly pulled the rope back, and so, Mine, suspended outside the window, was pulled up jerkily.

It must be said that Leone's actions were very timely. Just as Mine was being pulled up, Sayuri had also finished cleaning up the shattered teacups and teapot fragments on the floor. She straightened up and turned to Hill, saying:

"Alright, cleaning's done. Looking at your clumsy self, it's better if I help you with making tea and preparing snacks."

"Thank you!"

Hill genuinely thanked Sayuri, as if nothing had happened at all just moments before.

On the rooftop, Leone used all her strength to painstakingly pull Mine up.

After being pulled up, both Mine, who was suspended, and Leone, who was pulling her, were panting heavily.

Leone, still breathing heavily, asked Mine:

"Mine, how was it? Did you get it in?"

Mine also replied to Leone, panting heavily:

"Everything went smoothly. I put the pill you formulated into his teapot. As long as Uchiha Madara dares to drink this tea, he definitely won't be able to escape. Of course, that's assuming the medicine you formulated works!"

"The medicine I formulated definitely has no problems, don't worry."

"Phew, phew... Being hung for so long, it really wore me out..."

"Pulling you was exhausting for me too, you hateful Uchiha Madara, sealing away our strong physical abilities..."

"I'm telling you, Leone, your dexterity and skills are clearly better, so why wasn't it you who was lowered to deliver the medicine?"

"Are you sure you can pull me up?"

"Uh... true..."

As the two talked, they caught their breath, then hastily descended the rooftop and ran back to their bedroom in a cloud of smoke.

Meanwhile, in the workshop, Sayuri skillfully prepared tea for Hill and took out the biscuits, placing everything on a tray and handing it to Hill:

"Here, everything's ready. You can carry it back by yourself now, can't you?"

Hill took the tray, her voice lacking confidence:

"Mm... should be no problem..."

Listening to Hill's tone, black lines appeared on Sayuri's forehead. She watched Hill helplessly.

Just then, the oven dinged. Sayuri looked, and it turned out the snacks she had baked for Uchiha Madara were ready.

Sayuri's attention immediately shifted. She rushed to the oven and got busy, not even turning her head to say to Hill:

"No choice, I still have things to do here. You handle it yourself!"

Hill gave a wry smile, picked up the tray, and left.

All the way, Hill carried the tray, tottering and wobbling, even the teacups on the tray rattled.

She thus cautiously ascended to the third floor. Fortunately, this time, the heavens smiled upon her, and she carried the tray back to Leone's bedroom without any mishaps along the way.

Leone and Mine, who were hiding in the bedroom, whispering to each other, saw Hill return. Leone was overjoyed, standing up to welcome Hill:

"Excellent, Hill, what you did just now was simply perfect throughout! A natural performance, it completely dispelled Sayuri's suspicions!"

Mine, however, stared at the tray in Hill's hand, her face full of surprise:

"Hill, you actually managed to carry it up without breaking anything? Did the sun rise from the west today!?"

Hill cautiously placed the tray on the table, then sighed in relief, wiped the cold sweat from her forehead, and looked at Mine, saying somewhat unhappily:

"Even if Mine says that, I'll still get angry..."

"Sorry, sorry!"

Leone quickly interceded:

"Alright, alright, let's sit down and talk while we eat!"

Responding to Leone's suggestion, the three girls sat around the table, dividing the three cups Hill brought, pouring steaming hot tea, eating small biscuits, and comfortably discussing:

Leone, munching on a crispy biscuit, enthusiastically discussed:

"Today our plan was executed perfectly! We just need to wait here for Uchiha Madara to fall into misfortune! Then, we'll seize the opportunity to escape this estate and find a place to hide in the Imperial Capital. We'll make a comeback!"

Mine took a sip of black tea and exhaled, sounding a little worried:

"I hope things really can go so smoothly. I don't know why, but I always have a faint feeling of unease?"

Drinking her tea, Leone smiled brightly. She waved her hand at Mine:

"That's just the psychological trauma Uchiha Madara left you with! This time, there's absolutely no problem! We just wait and watch the show!"

Hill, who had been quietly drinking tea and eating biscuits, also spoke up in due time:

"Although Mr. Madara captured us and brought us here, he never did anything excessive to us. Aren't we being a bit too much by doing this to him??"

"Oh come on, Hill, don't be so soft-hearted! It doesn't matter. Besides, my medicine..."

Leone's words were not yet finished when suddenly, the faces of the three present simultaneously changed color, turning purplish-green, their expressions extremely pained.

All three simultaneously clutched their stomachs. Besides their pained expressions, cold sweat also began to uncontrollably trickle down their foreheads.

They hadn't expected such a thing to happen. The three women, due to the intense pain in their stomachs, sprawled on the table. They stared at each other in horror, each able to see the terror in the other's eyes.
