JADE POV....
It's been a while since Nigel had left,but honestly I feel grateful. Although am not someone who's really close to him, his willing to go this far for me and just because we signed a contract, he's actually not that bad once you get to know him.
" Sister-in-law do you like brother?"; Alexis asked looking at me intently, snapping me out of my thoughts.
Huhnnnn!!, where the heck did that question come from;" Sure, brother is friendly to me, so of course he's nice"; I replied a bit flustered.
" No that's not what I mean, I mean like in the movies when the girl likes the guy and they end up getting married and they live happily ever after"; Alexis said cheerfully, his body bouncing slightly on the bed a little.
Shocked, I immediately held Alexis close;" Who's letting you watch movies like that?, you can't watch those, you're only six. You're too young". I scolded with a shade of red on my face.
I heard a familiar voice from outside; " Alexis you shouldn't ask your sister-in-law questions like that, should you?"; Hilbert said smiling as he entered the room.
Jade's body immediately perked up, had Hilbert heard the question?, worse did he listen to the entire conversation and how she called Nigel 'nice'. Jade's face was now crimson, she just hoped he didn't misinterpret the whole thing as her saying she likes Nigel, but the thought of that made her her unknowingly beat faster.
Jade has never in her life felt this sensation, and it seems her heart is beating at a rapid rate and her stomach feels weird, like tied in knots. Is this the phenomenon they call butterflies?!, questions marks filled her head and she paused for a bit. Jade now flustered clutched her chest tight, but it beated even faster, seeing Hilbert was around she hurriedly took an excuse and ran;
" Am going to take a stroll, got a headache, I'll be back soon, bye!"; Jade flustered, bolted out of the room but she really did have a headache.
Hilbert silently chuckled. Alexis noticed his expression and asked;
" Why are you laughing uncle Hilbert?"; he asked innocently.
" Oh it's nothing, you're uncle is just enjoying something new unfold". Hilbert replied patting the little boy's head.
" Does that have to do with brother and sister-in-law?"; Alexis asked looking for an answer.
Hilbert carried Alexis in his arms and scolded; " You're too young for stuff like that, you won't understand". Hilbert said teasing.
Alexis pouted; " That's not true, I see stuff like that on cousin Bella's tv shows". Alexis said complaining.
" We really go to stop you from watching tv with your cousin"; Hilbert sighed, he can't have Alexis learning bad stuff. Although it was a failed attempt to get him closer to people, who knew he actually paid attention to stuff like that, and the most shocking part is he still isn't close to his cousin. Well I guess that's that.
"That's not true, am a big boy now"; Alexis said boldly.
Hilbert pinched his nose; " Okay big boy, come take a shower". Alexis complied, although he really wanted to bathe with Jade.
Hilbert noticed that Alexis had become a bit more talkative. He was glad he could express himself more now and was finally coming out of his shell, and all because Jade's here. A faint smile appeared on his face, he now wondered the possibilities the future held for them.
On the ground floor.
I was walking to the elevator, a lot of things clouded my mind, more like a specific someone. This can't be!, I can't fall for the Mafia boss!. I held my head in despair.
The reason I must feel this way is probably because no one has really protected me the way he did and because of the events of yesterday, yes that's it, I thought as I breathed a sigh of relief to calm my rapidly beating heart.
I finally calmed down and took the elevator to the ground floor. I really do have a headache, I hope I can take a stroll or something.
I reached the ground floor to see a three men dressed in suits shivering as if they were in front of death one had a whip in hand, and approaching someone on the floor with blood dripping down his face. Wait?!, that's the same person that tried to rape me yesterday.
Remembering the events, I instantly felt disgusted. I wanted to punch the scoundrel in the face, no more like rip him apart. I still couldn't forget the look in his eyes or his tongue on my cheek, I shivered in disgust.
In an instant the whip fell on him continuously, he screamed in agony. The two other men looked in horror as the guy was whipped continuously. Nigel looked at them emotionlessly with a murderous, yet dominating aura and that moment. I felt something, something different.
Is it me or is Nigel so damn cool?!.
