"No." Vivianne's voice is firm and quiet but unyielding as she stands in front of Roxanne.
Roxanne froze where she stood, halfway into their shared room in the Wyndham estate. "Sweetheart, please," she said, her tone softening into a plea. "This isn't a joke. I need to keep you safe." Her voice cracked at the edges; the thought of Vivianne in danger is something she couldn't bear.
Vivianne turned to her slowly, eyes steady. "And who's keeping you safe?"
Roxanne sighed, forcing a small, confident smile that didn't reach her eyes. "I'm the Grand Duke of Borgia. I just defeated the demon king, Ashkareth. I'll be fine."
"Still, you were wounded," Vivianne shot back, her tone sharp but trembling with worry.
"Mara can fix me later," Roxanne replied, brushing it off as though it were nothing.
