Chapter 33 - Chapter 033: What The Bastard Is Doing

The recreated body of Victory simply tilted her head to that rather strange question; not caring at all as the cold wind blew by.

Her fully naked body being on full display.

"Why care about that?"

"W-Well I suppose that-... I guess-... There is a-..." < >

That baffled the now nameless human(?) girl since her reason should be very obvious since… Well, actually, humans wore clothes to defend themselves from the elements but such things could hardly harm the peak of demon-kind. The other reason was due to modesty becoming a cultural norm.

Yet why would a demon care about the norms or culture of "mere mortals" - let alone the Divine Demon of the Primordial Blood who saw even gods as below her notice. So why would such a mighty being care about adorning themself in a pathetic piece of silk. Maybe it was even offensive to recommend it?

Like telling a knight to hide their blade; her body was nothing short of a divinely ordained weapon of mass destruction after all.

Such a series of realisations caused smoke to rise from her ears as she tried to come up with a reason.

Her brain malfunctioned to the point that the sound of grinding gears could practically be heard.

Fortunately this scene was quite pleasing to the demoness who raised a hand over her mouth as she released a faint giggle. That bell-like chime broke the nameless girl from her confusion - only to be lost in the allure of it. A faint blush formed over her face which only amused the Divine Demon more.

All the while Necro and their bespeckled companion watched on; the former snorting at the foolish human while a soft but still amused smile forming on the face of the latter.

"No matter."

Faintly waving her hand about as if pushing aside the girl's concerns.

"What is more important is getting the girl a new name."

"Tsk hardly seems shes worthy of one from her eminence…"

The moody gerbil bemoaned with his arms crossed in front of his chest, with that skull adorned staff as present as always, with a form etched on his face. His demonic insect companion merely let out a chuckle as they pushed their glasses up their face. Eyes hidden behind the gleam of the round lenses.

"Sure a mere demonic human is not worth her attention… If not for a certain relic."

Those words caused the hamster's eyes to practically explode out his own skull as he suddenly stumbled but at least managed to catch himself before falling. Turning to look at his "friend" with clear shock that confused the nameless girl. At least until realisation brought her back to when she first spoke to Victory.

"The violet apple made from demonic energy…?" < >

"Indeed, that apple represents an untold amount of opportunity, the ability to ask the Divine Demon herself to grant one's wishes. Of course such an entity cannot grant every wish thrown at her. So those with her favour are granted these to ask as many wishes as they take bites."

This simply got a faint hum from the demoness who led them; a very casual confirmation of such a powerful relic that the nameless girl had once held in her hands?!

"T-Then why would I waste it on a name?" < >

That actually caused all of them to momentarily stop - the usual suspect seemed about ready to blow his gasquet while Chokin-Bako merely seemed a little surprised.

"Calling on true name grants power to unleash true power but also can be used as chain…"

A simple sentence that contained few words yet held so much meaning.

"Only two entities have reached the apex of power without possessing a name."

"The judge is correct."

"Why do you keep calling them a judge and what do you mean by two?!"

The poor archdemon was obviously left out of the loop by the other two - leaving the nameless girl only able to offer her fellow confused person a look of pity. Fortunately the demon did not notice that look on her face on account of his growing annoyance. Mainly due to both his supposed companions ignoring him.

"Of course only a truly influential entity can grant another a name containing such potential; it just so happens you hold the power to request such from one such being." .

A faint nod was all Victory granted them.

"Still don't think a human girl is worth all this hassle…"

"There are beings who would destroy entire universes, plunge realms in war, just for a chance of taking a single bite from that fruit let alone eating the entire thing."

They spoke with no bluster while readjusting their neck tie with a serious look on their face that made it very clear what dangers that apple represented.

The girl in question could only gulp as she began to feel the true weight of that apple.

"Of course…If you do not believe you can handle the weight of such a relic then I am more than willing to take it off your hands for now. Though such things hardly come for free; it will only require one single wish to be performed at a later date."

Such honesty caused her to blink blankly at the archdemon in front of them - to an extent the blatant admittance of their intentions caught her completely off guard. At the same time there was no way she couldn't respect it. A being as powerful as that could have easily just taken it off her.

Yet, at the same time…

A being like Chokin-Bako - a particularly strong as well as loyal archdemon who is trusted with a lot - must have a mountain of favours owed to her by Victory. So why would she need to rely on something like the apple when a mere request would do the same. The apple is so that the mightiest of demons, whose name is well known throughout the realms, can grant the wishes of random individuals…

But an archdemon is not someone unaffiliated with the Divine Demon of the Primordial Blood who they proudly follow as her servants.

"Urgh this all makes no sense…" < >

Rubbing the sides of her head with a long drawn out sigh; trying to calm the turbulent migraine she can feel slowly forming.

"Wonder what you'd wish for…"

To that the bespeckled demon chuckled faintly.

"Unlike some brutes I did not like to resort to subtle slight of hand utilising divine authorities to rewrite the contents of my blood; I would rather go through the proper channels to get what I want."

"Urgh don't bring up that bastard here…"

Shivering while letting out a long drawn out sigh.

"Bastard who?" < >

"My brother who is sealed away in the deepest pits under the Infinite Mother's watch..."

Letting out a sigh.

"Why don't you sound upset that your brother is imprisoned by a being of legend…?" < >

"Because he won't be sealed for long."

"999,999.999,999,996 bottles of beer on the wall, 999,999.999,999,996 bottles of beer, if I down another and put it up there will be 999,999.999,999,997 bottles of beer on the wall~♪"

"When will he stop…"

"Not until long after we're dead I'm afraid…"

Far under the surface of the ocean upon the most ancient planet in existence - located below the bedrock of the molten sea bed - there was a gigantic matrix of intertwined seals. Shifting sequences of seals so dense that it was impossible to see inside. Though that didn't stop their perfectly gender neutral voice from echoing through the stone room that was being watched over from every angle by a ground of guards.

All their backs pressed against walls infused with vibrant green energy; constantly shifting seals similar to the liliac ones making sure the bastard could never escape. A literal infinite amount of energy moving in an infinite amount of ways. Making for a lock with an infinite number of possible keys.

Made to be literally unbreakable, maybe not even by the creator, due to the infinite power that suppress all other powers just to make sure nothing could escape from it… Except for sound.

"999,999.999,999,997 bottles of beer on the wall, 999,999.999,999,997 bottles of beer, if I down another and put it up there will be 999,999.999,999,998 bottles of beer on the wall~♪"

So that bastard sang like a canary - unfortunately since there was nothing anyone wanted to ask he just continued to sing. Not any beautiful or thought provoking as that would make everyone's experience far too pleasant. Instead he sang a children's song.

One that had no end in sight and yet even that was not enough; his speed & pitch constantly changing so that they couldn't even force themselves to tune it out as background noise. Fortunately their master let the mighty sea dragons constantly change shifts. Still this was nothing short of-

"Mental warfare…"

"Just remember that if he is here it means he cannot subject anyone else to such torture"

"999,999.999,999,998 bottles of beer on the wall, 999,999.999,999,998 bottles of beer, if I down another and put it up there will be 999,999.999,999,999 bottles of beer on the wall~♪"

The mighty draconic warriors could only sigh while tightly clutching the nagitana's with the slight relief that soon their shifts would be over.

As well as that they were suffering for their princess' sake.

"Nearly time~♪"
