The Lightning Lycan King roared as it revealed itself.
Fang Yuan no longer felt it necessary to hold back, tossing aside the Training Weights Gu and revealing his Rank 4 aura.
He had barely used up a single primeval stone to recover some essence when the Lightning Lycan King launched a thunderbolt at him. Then again, this is exactly what he had been preparing for, activating his Moonlight Plate Armor Gu.
It absorbed the impact, even if it drained away much of his remaining primal essence. The silvery armor still stood firm under the assault, and more importantly, this meant that the same attack could not be used again for some time.
The Crimsonhoof Deer gave Fang Yuan a small snort. He understood what that meant.
It was saying that its debt had been repaid and that it was going now. Fang Yuan felt his mental connection with its mother break.
From now on, if Fang Yuan wanted its help, he would have to find a way to enslave it directly.
With his Rank 4 strength and the resources of the clan freely available to him along with his Grandmaster attainment in the Blood Path, this was not impossible. However, it could not be done in the middle of a battlefield.
As it was, the Crimsonhoof Deer had already played its role, blocking off the retreat of the wolves so that they were in their current situation, boxed in, and finally put in a difficult spot.
Fang Yuan let the deer leave as the elders who had been kept in reserve now launched forward. As its most powerful offensive option could not be activated again for some time, Fang Yuan revealed another one of his trump cards.
His Lightning Lord Wings Gu activated; a set of wings bursting from his back as he made a beeline directly for the Lightning Lycan King once he had recovered more of his primal essence. This time, however, had allowed it to recover to some extent. And it roared, assembling the wolves in a tight formation as it launched yet another lightning bolt at Fang Yuan. This time, he did not activate his defensive Gu worm and simply avoided it., folding his wings so he dropped through the air before opening them up again, dodging crashing with the ground by a hair's breadth.
"What skill!" someone yelled out, seeing this.
"Where did he learn to do that?" another person exclaimed!
Mo Chen and Chi Lian were both dumbfounded. What Fang Yuan had done right now had required extreme control and maneuvering in a three-dimensional space. Most people, of course, were only used to fighting in two dimensions.
For Fang Yuan to do this, dodging an extremely fast attack from the Lightning Lycan King, spoke to a level of skill which would have required years of practice.
To its credit, the Lightning Lycan King seemed to realize that the odds were stacked against it, as a dark ball began to emerge from its mouth. However, before it could unleash its Wolf Smoke Gu, Fang Yuan was already in range to strike.
"Rank 4 Testicular Torsion Gu!"
Fang Yuan had been able to take this gu worm from the clan's underground storage after he had become Rank 4 after spending some primeval stones. He had used his cultivation blessing on it to advance it to Rank 4, since he didn't know the recipe for advancing it further.
This was not the first time that Fang Yuan had brutally assaulted a wolf's reproductive organs, nor would this be the last.
Its effect was immediate- the Lightning Lycan King abandoned the use of Wolf Smoke Gu to create a smoke screen and instead used it to heal its own wounds. If Testicular Torsion Gu had only been Rank 3, this might have healed it completely. But for now, it could only somewhat dull the pain as Fang Yuan let out a Blood Moonblade at it.
It howled in pain as it could not use Wolf Smoke Gu to deal with this new injury as it began bleeding out.
It snarled at Fang Yuan. However, it could not use its lightning bolt strike again in such a short interval of time. The other wolves came to support it given its situation. However, they were blocked by a wall of vines.
"Fang Yuan! Go ahead!" Qing Shu shouted. "We'll hold the others back!" The other elders had also caught up with him, clearing out the battlefield so that Fang Yuan could concentrate on the Lightning Lycan King. Fang Yuan did not land throughout the fight. Instead, he deftly weaved through the air, completely confusing the Lightning Lycan King. It, despite its intelligence, had no idea what to do against such a foe. That said, even a trained Rank 4 Gu Master, such as any of the clan heads, would have had trouble dealing with Fang Yuan with his flying mastery.
The Lightning Lycan King howled once more, but this was less of a thundering command from a powerful monarch and more of a pitiful cry for help. As Fang Yuan landed another blow on its chest, it could sense that its time had come.
Someone shouted, "Thunder Crown Wolf!" It looked like another Rank 4 Beast King had been in the area and was coming in to reinforce it.
Either that, or its cry right now had been a signal for that other Rank 4 Beast King.
Fang Yuan responded, "Tell everyone who is in the way of that Beast King to retreat. Let us all regroup after I finish off this Lightning Lycan King. Then give me enough time to replenish my primal essence, and we will deal with it."
"Are you sure you can fight two of them in a row?" Qing Shu asked.
He had not been forced to expend much of his own primal essence up till now even while fighting the Thousand Beast Kings, given that he was Rank 3. But he would not be much use even with Wood Charm Gu against a Rank 4 opponent. And though he had seen Fang Yuan's battle prowess, to fight a Rank 4 Beast King was one thing, but to fight two of them was something completely else.
"Yes, it'll be fine," Fang Yuan said. He had an advantage that the others didn't know about, as he decapitated the Lightning Lycan King, ending its life.

Fang Yuan immediately withdrew it and used it. The yellow primal essence within his primal aperture immediately concentrated and became darker. To break through another realm in cultivation while in the middle of a fight was unheard of. Though, even if anyone had realized what he had done, which they would soon enough, they could have little cause to complain given the situation they were in.
The scouts had abandoned their position, fleeing from the Thunder Crown Wolf. The remaining wolves were invigorated at the sight that they were going to be reinforced before they were swiftly killed by the neighboring Gu Masters. Fang Yuan, as he replenished his primal essence, went to go retrieve the Rank 4 Testicular Torsion Gu from the Lightning Lycan King.
Once this gu was used, it fused to the opponent's testicles. So, if one wanted to reuse it, they would have to remove them from their opponent after use. However, it took time for the gu worm to detach and so could not be used rapidly in succession.
So, Fang Yuan would have to deal with this Thunder Crown Wolf without relying upon it.
