Lucas's arms wrapped firmly around Nyx's slender frame as he lifted her with ease, his lips never once parting from hers. For a brief moment she gasped in surprise, a soft yelp escaping her throat as her balance was suddenly taken from her, but almost instantly she melted back into him, her arms instinctively circling his neck as though she had always belonged there.
