Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

My good mood lasted until the old lady sent someone to tell me that she agreed to my conditions.

My good mood was gone.

Because it transformed into a super version of a good mood.

Song Wan cried and caused a scene in the Marquis Mansion, broke quite a few things, and even wanted to come find me, asking why I was forcing her, but the old lady stopped her.

"Song Mu!"

On the day of the wedding, Song Wan still found an opportunity to see me.

Her eyes were full of hatred, with heavy dark circles, looking like she hadn't slept well for a long time.

Her tone was filled with hatred and disgust.

"Don't think you'll have it easy like this, not acknowledging my identity, marrying off in secrecy, do you think Prince Duan will love the real you?"

"I'm telling you! Dream on!"

"You've shamed the Marquis Mansion and disgraced the Imperial Family, I'll wait to see you crying and begging!"

Well said.

I clapped, my gaze falling on her belly, which was visibly about three and a half months along.

She cautiously stepped back: "What are you doing!"

I smiled: "Nothing, I was just thinking how to tell others that the legitimate eldest daughter of the Marquis Mansion got knocked up by a stable hand."

Song Wan's eyes widened in disbelief, almost collapsing in a scream.

"Are you crazy?!"

"The child in my belly is Rong..."

She suddenly fell silent.

I shrugged indifferently, comforting her: "Don't mind, I was just spreading rumors."

"Take good care of the baby, be good, okay?"

I brushed her long hair with my fingers and left lightly, leaving Song Wan shivering and rubbing her arms in disgust.

Three days later, it was my big wedding, no wonder Song Wan couldn't wait to mock me.

Am I afraid?

Not in the slightest.

I got into the bridal sedan chair with a grin, smiling as I completed the marriage ceremony, entering the bridal chamber to personally experience the wedding culture of a male-dominated world, it truly felt novel.

It wasn't until the moment before the groom lifted my veil, that his good mood still lingered.

That's right, it was his good mood.

Prince Duan, Murong Duan's face was cold, looking at the woman in front of him whom he didn't like at all, even considering her a disgrace.

Was it the Marquis Mansion's insult to him?

A woman completely different from the so-called Jewel of the Capital, Song Wan, decadent, pale, looking as if she had just crawled out of a grave, with a taut face, no amusement whatsoever.

It was simply stomach-churning to look at.

If unveiling was not a necessary procedure, he wouldn't even want to take this step.

Really… slapped him in the face.

"From now on, you are my Princess Consort, but remember, you can never win my love, don't have delusions, longing for things that aren't yours."

"Yingying is my Concubine, but she is the bright moon in the sky, while you are a pebble on the ground, remember your status."

He spoke with severity and ruthlessness, but when he mentioned Yingying, there was a touch of tenderness in his words.

Me: ?

Who is Yingying again?

I flipped through my memory, and remembered.

Yingying, originally Song Mu's bosom friend, who mysteriously disappeared later, leaving Song Mu saddened for a while.

I didn't expect to meet again, Bai Yingying had become Prince Duan's cherished Concubine, his most favored.

—In the original story, most of the misunderstandings and deep love-hate between Song Mu and Murong Duan involved Bai Yingying.

And the reason Murong Duan was so infatuated with Bai Yingying was because he believed Bai Yingying had saved him when he was kidnapped.

But he didn't know that the person who saved him was Song Mu, who got seriously injured while saving him and lost her memory, allowing Bai Yingying, who had trained in mimicry and tongue skills since childhood, to assume her identity.

Due to that rescue, Song Mu developed a cold womb, her face as pale as gold leaf, looking perpetually sickly…

Whereas Bai Yingying, not only wasn't sick, she even feigned illness, later needing Song Mu's heart blood for medicine.

Me: …

What an outrageous plot!

If I allowed this far-fetched plot to play out successfully, I shouldn't be aiming to become Crown Princess, but become a thousand-year-old turtle instead.

And I had formed a first impression of Murong Duan.

The blind male lead who mistakes glass for pearls.

Truly using every means to torment the female lead.

Since he's met me, he can forget about keeping those dim eyes of his.
