Looking at the bustling restaurant, and then at the waiters carrying plates steadily through the crowd. Watching the patient order taker explaining each specialty dish, Bi Xia curled her lips and went to take a look in the kitchen through the back door.
She saw Xia Shi dressed in a chef's uniform, managing the kitchen. Bi Xia knew that this was what Xia Shi had told her about, each table receiving a dish personally made by her, a unique feature of Xia Family Cuisine.
"Young Master, you're here. Madam is still busy with her work."
In Xià Family Cuisine, to match the classic decor, all terms of address were changed to those used in ancient times, setting it apart from other restaurants.
Smiling at the chef who greeted her, Bi Xia said, "Keep up the good work, I'll head out first."
Nodding at Xia Shi, Bi Xia turned and walked out of the kitchen, starting to greet everyone.
