Chapter 177: The New Domain, Great Dark Sky The Appearance of Di Tian and the Escape of Tian Meng Ice Silkworm
To be honest, acquiring an evil attribute or rather, a mutated dark attribute was never part of Han Li's plan, at least not yet.
If it were any other attribute, he could use a soul bone as a medium. But the evil attribute, by its very nature, was something he had no right to touch especially considering that he already possessed multiple divine energies, had preserved the black pearl, and now, this power had merged with his Slaughter God Domain, making it even stronger.
There was no doubt that this was the work of the Divine Realm, and perhaps Shura himself had interfered.
Han Li pushed the thought aside he would have to confirm it later. For now, he turned to the others.
"I can't explain it well why don't you all experience it yourselves?"
As he spoke, a dark red glow surged from his body, instantly engulfing everyone present.
Pure Darkness
That was the only thing everyone could perceive within Han Li's domain.
At that moment, all of their senses were severely suppressed, locked within their own bodies. Not only that, but a constant sense of danger pressed against them from all directions, as if they were being targeted by an unseen killer.
"I've lost almost 80% of my perception, I can't pinpoint the source of the killing intent, and all my attributes are suppressed by 30%."
"On top of that, the darkness is continuously draining my soul power and mental strength."
Guang Ling quickly assessed his condition, trying to locate Han Li's position.
"Han Li, try attacking me."
Guang Ling called out into the void.
"Alright, Master."
Han Li's voice suddenly sounded to Guang Ling's right but his blade appeared behind him in complete silence.
Guang Ling's body jerked as he barely detected the attack three meters away, dodging just in time and counterattacking toward Han Li's wrist.
However, in the very next instant, Han Li's entire body vanished only to reappear directly in front of Guang Ling, his blade now radiating a terrifying energy.
"Want to keep going, Master?"
Han Li smiled mischievously as he withdrew his blade, standing right in front of Guang Ling.
"No need."
Guang Ling shook his head and immediately withdrew his martial soul.
That brief exchange had already proven the overwhelming advantage Han Li now held.
Even if he could defend against the next few attacks, there was no way he could block them all indefinitely.
Moreover, Han Li had clearly held back if he had used Life and Death Arena or launched ranged attacks with his bow, Guang Ling would have been even more helpless.
"How about we test it on Dugu Bo? He probably isn't your match anymore, right?"
Guang Ling grinned like a fox, his expression full of mischief.
"That… might not be a good idea."
Han Li was momentarily tempted by his master's suggestion, but he quickly dismissed the thought.
Dugu Bo was family, after all doing this would be a bit too cruel.
"The old man has a skull bone, though."
Han Li deliberately ignored the power of his Evil God Hook, giving a half hearted excuse.
"Fine…"
Guang Ling looked genuinely disappointed.
Seeing this, Han Li retracted his domain, and everyone gathered once again.
"If it weren't for my Slaughter God Domain resisting some of its effects, I fear I wouldn't even be able to fight back against Han Li."
Dugu Bo shook his head self deprecatingly as he reappeared.
Han Li simply smiled, not responding.
After all, an ordinary Title Douluo if caught off guard would likely be instantly killed or drained to death in his domain.
Now, he had officially stepped into the ranks of the continent's top tier combatants especially since his abilities were perfectly suited for ambushes and assassination.
"With the Slaughter God Domain activated, I was able to counter some of the negative effects, but my overall strength was still suppressed by about 15%."
"More importantly, with perception locked, the actual impact on combat ability is far greater than that."
Shui Bing'er shared her own experience, understanding that Han Li's new domain was a terrifying weapon.
She and the others knew well that only two other people in the world had the Slaughter God Domain Bibi Dong and Tang Hao.
And neither of them were friendly toward Han Li.
"I see."
Han Li nodded, taking in her feedback.
"Inside the domain, my overall strength increases by 20%."
"I can also perfectly conceal my presence and freely move within the darkness but movement drains a lot of soul power."
"The domain itself is quite limited in range only a 100 meter diameter so it's best suited for small scale battles or one on one fights. That's its main weakness."
Han Li analyzed his new abilities, already simulating new combat strategies in his mind.
"Would Xue'er's Angelic Domain be the perfect counter to this?"
Guang Ling suddenly thought of something and turned to look at Han Li.
Han Li was momentarily stunned before nodding. "Yes. Among all known domains, the Angelic Domain does counter my 'Great Dark Sky' to some extent. But at most, they would just cancel each other out."
Guang Ling fell silent. He recalled his last meeting with Qian Renxue, when she had asked him to deliver a message to Han Li that she had become much more proficient in controlling her domain and that she would definitely win next time.
Now, all he could do was pray for Xiao Xue'er.
He couldn't take sides both were important to him. Besides, he knew that Han Li's Yin Yang Domain was actually even stronger in some ways; he had just never fully revealed its capabilities.
Han Li cast a puzzled glance at his master, who had suddenly gone quiet, then shook his head. Guang Ling's thought process was sometimes impossible to follow, even for him.
"Alright, Han Li's spirit ring is done… wait, what's your current level now?"
Dugu Bo eyed him uncertainly. At this distance, he couldn't sense any fluctuations from Han Li at all.
"It's a new application of my domain. As for my level Rank 69, Battle Soul Emperor."
Han Li smiled and revealed his aura, causing Dugu Bo to draw a sharp breath.
"Then maybe we should stay at a nearby town? Your seventh spirit ring is a big deal; we can't take it lightly."
Guang Ling and Qing Luan both turned to Han Li, their expressions both relieved and expectant.
"No need. I've already chosen my seventh spirit ring, and I won't even have to fight for it."
Han Li's lips curled into a mysterious smile, deliberately keeping them in suspense.
"Another 'gift from nature'?"
Dugu Bo grimaced, recalling how Han Li had acquired that hundred thousand year Blue Silver Emperor spirit bone before.
"Something like that."
Han Li chuckled, thinking back to that lucky encounter.
"Fine, then we won't interfere. So, where's your next stop?"
Dugu Bo had to return to Spirit City along with Guang Ling and Qing Luan. Even if he wanted to go adventuring again, he had to report back first.
Now, he even had the qualifications to join the Worship Hall.
"Tian Dou City. I need to make a trip to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and condense my spirit core."
Han Li replied without hesitation his next phase of planning was entirely centered around Tian Dou.
"The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well? I wonder if the Ice Frost Vine is mature yet."
Guang Ling muttered to himself.
"If nothing unexpected happened, it should be ready. After forming your spirit core, Master, you might even be able to reach the Ultimate Douluo level."
Han Li immediately responded. With the Plane's Will accelerating its recovery, he had kept an eye on the area.
He had even used his privileges to further accelerate the growth of several pseudo immortal herbs. True immortal herbs, however, would take much longer.
"Master Qing Luan and Old Man Dugu also have their own herbs waiting. I can't guarantee breakthroughs, but they'll at least strengthen your foundation."
Han Li added.
"Wait a second… did you plan all this ahead of time? Are you just sending us back with these herbs so you can go off and play?"
Guang Ling narrowed his eyes in suspicion.
"Come on, Master, it's immortal herbs. Do you know how many people would kill for these? And also what happened to the Phoenix Sunflower you took years ago? Why haven't we seen any progress?"
Han Li countered, looking at Qing Luan for support. He had adjusted his plans, but he wasn't pushing them away on purpose. He just needed his master to keep a lower profile for now.
Hearing Han Li bring up his "unfinished business", Guang Ling's ears turned bright red. He instantly changed the subject.
"Let's go, let's go. I'm starving. There's nothing worth staying for in this damn forest."
Seeing his obvious escape attempt, the others exchanged amused glances before quickening their pace to catch up.
Meanwhile, back at the battlefield…
The wind stirred up the dust, briefly disrupting the eerie silence.
After about half a day, a thin vine peeked out from underground, scanning the surroundings as if it had eyes.
Confirming that everyone was gone, it retracted back into the earth and vanished.
Moments later, a pitch black spatial rift tore open in the clearing.
A black robed man stepped out from within.
With a flick of his wrist, several faint energy remnants appeared in his palm.
"The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger has already been dealt with?"
"This is… Shura's aura? No… it's only from the Slaughter City… and this…?"
His expression suddenly changed, eyes burning with excitement as he studied the crimson red and milky white traces of energy.
"No… wait. The aura is too faint. They're confirmed dead. This… this is a human's aura did someone inherit their legacy?"
"Is this why the Divine Realm has turned its gaze here? Another human Soul Master has received a divine inheritance?"
Di Tian clenched his fists unhappily, crushing the lingering energy traces into dust.
"That useless Ice Silkworm sure picked the perfect time to escape."
"And it's heading in the same direction… to be safe, I can't chase after it anymore. I won't risk bringing trouble to my Lord. I should lay low for now."
Di Tian gazed toward the direction Han Li's group had left, sighed heavily, and then tore open another spatial rift.
With a final glance, he stepped through and disappeared.
Meanwhile, miles underground…
The so called "useless Ice Silkworm" was currently burrowing through the earth, wriggling desperately.
Wrapped tightly in its own spiritual power, it dug frantically, trying to escape as deep as possible
not knowing when it would dare return to the surface again.
