Zaiyila smiled warmly. "I'm fine with everything," she responded.
The man bowed and fled immediately, unwilling to stay any longer for fear of making a mistake.
Zaiyila picked up a chocolate and began eating, trying her best not to make the atmosphere awkward.
Everett's smile didn't fade. His eyes remained fixed on Zaiyila, unblinking. "What's the matter?" he inquired, clearly addressing the men seated, though his gaze never left her.
Zaiyila noticed his stare. "You want some?" she asked, stretching the half-eaten chocolate toward him.
Everett nodded with a bright smile.
Zaiyila rose from her seat and walked over to him, feeding him the chocolate until it was gone. Then she dragged the remaining snacks to Everett's table.
"Umm… I don't want to sit there. Can I sit on your lap?" she asked carefully.
