Chapter 91 - chapter 90 In the Signs of internal conflict

Scene: Alia's House – Night

Alia is holding Viktor's hand tightly. Viktor lies motionless on the bed. Alia's eyes are filled with tears, her voice trembling.

Alia (choking on her words, voice trembling):

"Viktor... open your eyes… please… please, Viktor… talk to me…"

She begins to sob uncontrollably. Suddenly, her phone rings. The screen shows the name: Margaret.

Alia quickly picks up the phone.

Alia:

"Hello?"

Margaret (with a concerned voice):

"Alia! Is everything okay? I went to check on the kids. They're in a deep sleep. Don't worry, everything's fine."

Alia's eyes fill with tears. She breathes a sigh of relief.

Alia (softly):

"Thank you, Margaret... you're the only one who understands…"

She calls for the maid.

Alia (calmly):

"Make sure everything is in order… I'm stepping out for a bit."

Scene: Coffee Shop – A Little Later

Alia and Margaret are sitting across from each other. Alia suddenly bursts into tears, throwing herself into Margaret's arms.

Alia (sobbing into Margaret's shoulder):

"Viktor collapsed... and then… and then... he hasn't regained consciousness..."

Margaret (gently hugging Alia):

"What happened, my love... I'm here with you... you're not alone."

Alia's sobs don't stop. The camera slowly zooms out, and outside the coffee shop window, the silent night looms large.

The conversation continues between them, but at some point, Margaret pulls Alia into her embrace. After a moment, Margaret gently kisses Alia on the forehead. Alia looks at her in shock, unable to comprehend what just happened.

Margaret starts to speak, her voice soft, yet laced with nostalgia.

Margaret (with a sweet smile):

"Do you remember, back in 1700, what it was like? We were together... I was right by your side. You were such a clever, sweet girl back then. We did so many things together... do you remember?"

Alia slowly stops crying, a flicker of surprise and realization appearing in her eyes.

Alia (emotionally, with a hint of confusion):

"Yes... I remember. But... was that our ancestors' story? Were we really together then?"

Margaret says nothing. She suddenly lifts Alia into her arms, holding her as the entire coffee shop looks on, shocked. An eerie silence fills the place, and soft, melodic music begins to play in the background.

Margaret (softly, lovingly):

"You know, you're still as beautiful as you were back then... you're so beautiful… you so look lovely

The patrons of the café stare at them, none of them daring to speak. Alia rests her head on Margaret's shoulder, closing her eyes and taking a deep, soothing breath. Time seems to stand still in front of them. In the air, only one thing lingers—Alia and Margaret's eternal bond, unbroken by time.Scene: Coffee Shop – A Little Later

Alia speaks in a trembling voice, struggling to control her emotions.

Alia (holding back tears):

"I miss you... all these years of friendship... so much… I never thought... it would come to this."

Margaret closes her eyes, remaining silent for a moment. Then, slowly, a gentle smile spreads across her face. She looks at Alia with deep affection.

Margaret (softly):

"Yes... I miss you too, Alia."

After hearing these words, Alia's eyes widen with disbelief. She doesn't say anything, just remains silent. A wave of old memories, old feelings, rushes back to her. That connection, that deep bond, which has never truly disappeared, is alive once more.

Scene: Coffee Shop – A Little Later

Margaret says, gently pulling Alia towards her.

Margaret (with a soft smile):

"Come closer, Alia…"

Alia hesitates but allows Margaret to pull her near. Without warning, Margaret leans in and kisses Alia on the lips. Alia pulls back in shock.

Alia (confused):

"What was that for, Margaret?"

Margaret looks into her eyes with an expression full of vulnerability.

Margaret (with a soft sigh):

"My wedding is coming soon, Alia... this is your last love..."

Alia stands there in stunned silence, unable to speak. She turns away, stepping back.

But Margaret, with a firm yet tender grip, pulls her back.

Margaret (pleading, with emotion in her voice):

"Alia, try to understand what I'm saying…"

Alia pulls away from Margaret's grasp, stepping back further.

Alia (with a deep, almost mournful sigh):

"I know, Margaret... I know. The day we were together... physically... you had your daughter... and I... I was a mother. You know that, don't you?"

Margaret, at a loss for words, simply stands there, staring at her. The weight of the moment hangs in the air, thick with regret, confusion, and a sense of finality. After Alia pulls away from Margaret, she stands a few steps back, her breath shallow, trying to gather herself. The air between them is thick with tension, and the silent weight of everything unspoken hangs heavily. Margaret stands still, her gaze never leaving Alia's face.

Margaret (softly, almost a whisper):

"Alia… I know this is hard… but you have to understand. What we had... it was never just a moment. It was... forever."

Alia's chest rises and falls rapidly, but she says nothing. Her heart is torn, and she can't form the words she needs to say.

Alia (voice cracking, her hands trembling):

"Margaret… I... I don't know what to do anymore. I've tried… to move on… but this... you..."

She trails off, her emotions completely overwhelming her. Margaret steps closer, but this time, Alia doesn't back away.

Margaret (gently):

"Alia, I understand. You've built a life, you have Viktor... and the kids. But you can't just erase us. We've always been part of each other. Whether we want it or not."

Alia feels the weight of those words hit her like a tidal wave. Her heart is caught between her past with Margaret and the future she's trying to build with Viktor.

Alia (with a bitter laugh, tears welling up in her eyes):

"Do you really think I want this, Margaret? Do you think I wanted to be torn between two lives? Two loves? My whole world is falling apart… and you're just asking me to choose?"

Margaret's eyes soften with understanding, her voice barely a whisper.

Margaret:

"No, Alia... I'm not asking you to choose. I'm asking you to remember. To remember who you are, who we were. Don't let everything we built slip away because of fear... because of guilt."

Alia (through her tears, voice barely audible):

"And what about Viktor? What about the kids? What am I supposed to do with all that? You want me to just throw it all away?"

Margaret's face tightens with emotion, but she stands firm, trying to show Alia the love and care she's always had for her.

Margaret (gently):

"I'm not asking you to throw anything away, Alia. But you deserve to be free. You deserve to feel the truth inside you. You deserve to choose the life that makes you whole."

There's a long silence. Alia looks down, her fingers fidgeting nervously. Margaret watches her closely, waiting for her to say something, anything.

Alia (with a deep sigh, looking up at Margaret):

"I don't know if I can do this, Margaret... I don't know if I can face it. This... this love... it's too much."

Margaret walks closer, her hand gently resting on Alia's arm.

Margaret (softly, with love in her voice):

"You've never been alone, Alia. You never will be. Whatever you decide... I'm here."

Alia (whispering, as though she's speaking more to herself than to Margaret):

"I don't want to lose you again. But I can't keep hurting him... Viktor... the kids..."

Margaret gazes at Alia, her eyes filled with both longing and understanding.

Margaret:

"You won't lose me. And you don't have to hurt anyone. You just need to find your truth. No matter where it leads."

Alia nods slowly, a single tear slipping down her cheek. The silence between them stretches out, both men women caught in the gravity of the moment.

Scene: Alia's House – Later that Night

Back at Alia's house, Viktor has regained full consciousness. He lies in bed, still weak, but his eyes are alert now. Alia sits beside him, her expression distant, as if lost in thought. Viktor, noticing the change in her, raises an eyebrow.

Viktor (weakly, his voice hoarse):

"Alia... what's going on? Why do you seem so far away? You left me, came back, and now… you're like this... What happened?"

Alia takes a moment before she speaks, looking at him for the first time in a while, her face a mask of confusion and sorrow.

Alia (softly, her voice trembling):

"Viktor… I... I'm sorry... I didn't know what to do... I didn't know how to fix this."

Viktor, still frail, reaches for her hand. His eyes search hers for the answers that have been so hard to find.

Viktor (gently, with concern):

"Alia... what do you mean? You've always known what to do. You've always been strong... for us. What's changed?"

Alia's breath catches in her throat. She looks at him for a long moment, trying to hold the tears back, but they begin to fall. She stands up abruptly, pacing around the room, unable to sit still with the turmoil inside her.

Alia (almost in a whisper, with a heartbreaking edge to her voice):

"I'm not sure anymore... What am I supposed to do, Viktor? I've tried so hard to pretend everything's fine, but… it's not. It's just not..."

Viktor watches her, his expression shifting from concern to worry.

Viktor (softly):

"Alia, talk to me. You're scaring me..."

Alia turns to face him, her eyes filled with deep pain.

Alia (her voice breaking, as she walks away from him):

"I can't… I can't keep doing this. Not with you, not with us."

Viktor tries to sit up, struggling with his weak body.

Viktor (desperate, reaching out for her):

"Alia, please... don't shut me out. I need you. I don't understand what's going on, but I need you."

Alia stops for a moment, her back to him, and closes her eyes, overwhelmed by everything. She takes a deep breath, but when she speaks again, her voice is barely a whisper.

Alia (with finality, turning to face him):

"I'm sorry, Viktor. I just... I don't know how to make this right anymore. I don't know if I even can."

With that, Alia walks out of the room, leaving Viktor behind, confused and broken-hearted.
