Chapter 375 - Chapter 375: What a Garbage School

Chapter 375: What a Garbage School

"Kid, that was too harsh for a simple spar between classmates." The elderly man reclining on the lounge chair suddenly spoke.

"Uh… Grandpa, I didn't expect her to be that weak," Huo Yuhao scratched his head, looking a bit embarrassed. After learning that this old man was an Ultimate Douluo, he naturally didn't want to leave a bad impression who knew if he might need to ask for his help in the future?

The old man was speechless but said nothing more. He simply assumed that Yuhao's attack was a soul skill. Though a bit overpowered, considering it was a spiritual attack, it made sense.

'Elder Ye, what should I do now?'

'Leaving her unconscious out here doesn't seem right, does it?'

Yuhao asked in his mind, worried. "And… my attack won't cause any lasting damage, right?"

"No need to worry. Your attack only damaged her spirit slightly, nothing serious. She'll wake up in a few hours, and at most, she'll have headaches for a few days. No permanent effects." Elder Ye reassured him.

'That's good!'

Relieved, Yuhao decided to carry her back to the dormitory. After all, leaving a girl lying unconscious outside wasn't right.

He hoisted Wang Dong onto his shoulder like a sack of rice and carried her back. Ever since he started training Innate Technique, his malnourished body had been steadily recovering to normal. With the support of his soul power, carrying a person was nothing.

After tossing Wang Dong onto her bed like a dead weight, Yuhao returned to his own bed, sat cross legged, and resumed training. The feeling of watching his soul power grow at a visible speed was simply addictive.

Some time later…

A soft groan broke the silence.

Huo Yuhao opened his eyes and saw Wang Dong waking up.

"Ugh… what happened to me?" Wang Dong muttered, holding her aching head, still in a daze.

But soon, memories of her humiliating defeat came rushing back.

"I… I actually lost?!" She looked utterly shocked, like her entire worldview had collapsed.

"I lost to… a one ring soul master?"

"A one ring soul master… with a ten year soul ring?!"

It felt like all the confidence she had built up over the years had been completely shattered.

At that moment, Huo Yuhao, seeing that she had calmed down slightly, finally spoke:

"You lost for one reason you were too arrogant! Rank isn't everything. If a higher rank guaranteed victory, then why would anyone need soul skills? If battles were decided purely by soul power levels, people could just compare ranks and declare the stronger one the winner."

"…"

Wang Dong fell silent.

Her face showed clear dissatisfaction, but after being knocked out in a single move, she felt too humiliated to argue.

Seeing her sulking, Yuhao relaxed his tone slightly. Since they were going to be roommates, they would see each other every day he couldn't afford to make an enemy.

"Also, the five rules you mentioned earlier I can follow them. But not because I have to. It's out of respect for my roommate."

"I just hope you learn what politeness and respect mean. Do you even realize how obnoxious you looked strutting around like you owned the place?"

After saying this, Yuhao closed his eyes and resumed training.

Meanwhile, deep inside, he was laughing his ass off.

Disciplining a so called "genius" like a schoolteacher scolding a student? That felt amazing!

All his life, he had been looked down upon, treated like dirt. This was the first time he had been in a position to lecture someone else and it felt damn good.

Wang Dong, on the other hand, sat frozen, her mind spinning.

'Obnoxious? Ugly? Was I really… that bad?'

Her fingers lightly touched her smooth face, self doubt creeping in for the first time.

After sitting in silence for a while, she stood up, turned toward Huo Yuhao, and hesitated. She wanted to say something but ultimately held back.

Instead, she let out a huff, set up her bed, and turned away.

For the next two days, neither of them spoke.

Each did their own thing.

Finally, the first day of class arrived.

"Hey, classes start today. Are you just gonna sit there like an idiot?" Wang Dong's voice interrupted Yuhao's meditation.

"Already?" Yuhao blinked, still half immersed in training.

Wang Dong, without even looking at him, said coolly, "We have half an hour."

"Oh." Yuhao acknowledged briefly then immediately closed his eyes again to continue meditating.

Wang Dong, expecting more of a reaction, glanced back only to see him already back in deep focus.

"…Freak," she muttered, before leaving the dorm.

At the academy.

The white teaching building stood tall, its doors wide open.

New students, all wearing white uniforms, poured in like a steady stream.

Yuhao arrived just as the bell rang.

Rushing to find his classroom, he saw that the large lecture hall was already packed.

After Huo Yuhao casually found a seat and sat down, he finally had a moment to observe his surroundings. The classroom was quite large, with about a hundred students in his class. Given that the total number of new students was around a thousand, there were likely ten freshman classes in total.

At that moment, a figure walked into the classroom from the doorway. It was an old woman with wrinkled skin, her grayish white hair tied up in a bun. She wore a white robe, and her figure was of average build.

Huo Yuhao couldn't help but furrow his brow. With his Spirit Eyes, his perception was naturally sharper than most. He keenly noticed that this elderly woman's actual appearance wasn't as old as she seemed in fact, she might even be quite young.

But why would a teacher at a school deliberately disguise herself as an old woman?

He was baffled.

The moment the teacher walked in, the previously noisy classroom instantly quieted down, with everyone's attention focused on the podium.

The elderly woman scanned the room with sharp eyes, and in that instant, every single student felt as if she was staring directly at them, an invisible pressure settling onto their hearts.

"I am Zhou Yi, your homeroom teacher. I don't know how many of you will still be in my class by the end of the year, but let me make one thing clear in my class, trash will never pass the assessments. I am here to train monsters, not idiots."

Her voice was hoarse, like the sound of a broken gong, grating and unpleasant to the ears.

Upon hearing her words, many students' faces showed resentment. To be accepted into Shrek Academy, they had all been handpicked from nations across the continent they were undoubtedly the elite among their peers. And yet, in this teacher's eyes, they were nothing but trash and fools?

Huo Yuhao remained expressionless, but internally, he was already criticizing her heavily:

"She talks big, but let's see if she can actually teach. If all she does is expel students to maintain her so called 'quality,' then the fact that Shrek Academy keeps someone like her just proves it's a* total joke** of a school."*

Thanks to Elder Ye's influence, Yuhao hadn't been blinded by Shrek's reputation like the others. Instead, he could objectively analyze the school without being swayed by its past achievements.

Then came Zhou Yi's next sentence, which shocked the entire class.

"Everyone who has gotten into a fight since arriving stand up."

All the students were stunned.

They had just been admitted. Who would start a fight so soon? And even if someone did, who in their right mind would admit to it?

The entire class remained silent except for one person.

Huo Yuhao stood up.

It wasn't because he was particularly honest, but because he had a gut feeling that this teacher wouldn't follow conventional logic.

As expected, the moment he stood, Wang Dong snorted and also got up, unwilling to be outdone.

Out of the entire class of one hundred students, only the two of them stood, making them stand out like sore thumbs.

"Just two?" Zhou Yi raised an eyebrow.

"What a bunch of cowards."

"Do you idiots not understand that if you're too afraid to cause trouble, you'll never amount to anything? Apart from these two, everyone else get out and run 100 laps around Shrek Plaza. If you don't finish, you're expelled."

The entire class erupted in outrage.

It was the first day of school, and before they had even started their lessons, they were being punished for something they hadn't even done?

How could anyone accept this?

Meanwhile, Huo Yuhao became even more convinced this teacher wasn't normal. Or rather, this entire school wasn't normal.

"If you're too afraid to cause trouble, you're useless?"

What kind of absolute garbage logic is that?!

So if someone just minds their own business, they're automatically in the wrong?

If they don't go out of their way to bully and harass others, they're considered weak?

A raging fire of anger burned in Huo Yuhao's heart.

At that moment, his disgust for Shrek Academy reached an all time high.

This so called "If you're afraid to cause trouble, you're trash" philosophy reminded him of his life at the Duke's Mansion where he and his mother had been constantly oppressed for no reason.

They had never provoked anyone. They had simply tried to survive quietly.

Yet, misfortune still found them.

Those servants who bullied them didn't have any real reason to do so. They just did it because they could.

Perhaps the Duchess had secretly encouraged them perhaps not. Huo Yuhao didn't know.

All he knew was that he hated those who created trouble just for the sake of it.

If Shrek Academy was deliberately producing these kinds of people, then this school's very existence was a tragedy.

It was a stain on the world.

A disgrace to the soul master community.

A breeding ground for criminals.

When the head of a household is corrupt, the entire family suffers.

If the so called number one soul master academy in the world actively encouraged this kind of mentality, then how could anyone expect the soul master community to be anything other than rotten?

Huo Yuhao, still young and not yet brainwashed by Shrek's false glory, remained a fiery, determined youth who sought justice and revenge.

And with Elder Ye's guidance, he would now be led down an entirely different path one that would forever change his future.
