Chapter 323: Arrival!
Night.
The moon hung high in the sky, its soft glow casting a gentle light over Wuhun City.
The once lively streets had finally quieted down, with only a few night guards still patrolling diligently.
Inside the Pope's Palace
After handling a full day's worth of affairs, Bibi Dong finally returned to her personal chambers, feeling a bit fatigued.
Her bedroom was both luxurious and minimalist, perfectly reflecting the decisive and pragmatic nature of a powerful woman.
After a warm bath, she changed into a silky purple lace nightgown and slowly walked toward her comfortable bed.
At her level, sleep was no longer a necessity.
Even if she didn't sleep for days, it wouldn't affect her physical condition in the slightest.
However, sleeping was a habit she had kept from her human days. It was also one of the few ways she could relieve the mental exhaustion of ruling such a vast organization.
Even though her body wasn't tired, her mind certainly was.
Especially after the recent temporal anomaly, which, despite causing no direct harm, had left everyone on edge.
Lying down on her bed, Bibi Dong quickly drifted into sleep, her years of disciplined routine guiding her into slumber.
Meanwhile…
As soon as she turned off the lights, her room was engulfed in darkness, with only the moonlight casting faint silver shadows through the large windows.
At that very moment, the air quivered.
Logically, Bibi Dong should have sensed the disturbance instantly and awakened immediately.
However, for some reason, she remained in a deep, undisturbed sleep.
It was as if some unseen force was preventing her from noticing the sudden spatial fluctuation.
The rippling space in the corner of the room suddenly spiraled into a vortex, resembling a portal to another dimension.
And from within this glowing swirl, a tiny figure slowly descended onto the floor.
Tap!
A pair of small boots landed lightly against the floorboards, producing a crisp, clear sound that echoed through the quiet bedroom.
Despite the noise, Bibi Dong remained asleep.
The little figure carrying a backpack and wearing a small red hat stood still for a moment, glancing around with confused eyes.
She looked as if she didn't understand why she had suddenly arrived in this place.
But then, her small ears seemed to pick up the sound of breathing.
Like a curious kitten, she walked toward the large bed, her footsteps completely silent.
Her vision, unaffected by the darkness, quickly spotted the sleeping Bibi Dong.
Seeing the familiar face, she relaxed.
Then, without hesitation, she swiftly removed her backpack, hat, coat, and boots, leaving behind only her soft pajamas.
After stripping off her "battle gear," the little figure climbed up onto the large, fluffy bed.
She lifted the blanket and like a small hamster burrowing into its nest slipped underneath.
Though Bibi Dong subconsciously furrowed her brows, the moment the small body nestled beside her, she instinctively pulled it into her embrace.
A faint smile formed on her lips, and her tense expression softened.
That night, nothing else happened.
The Next Morning
Golden sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating Bibi Dong's peaceful face.
For the first time in years, she had experienced a truly restful sleep.
Her biological clock kicked in as usual, slowly pulling her out of slumber.
Her mind felt refreshed, the exhaustion that had accumulated over the past days completely washed away.
"What a wonderful morning..."
She thought to herself, basking in the warm glow of the sun.
It had been so many years since she had slept this soundly.
Just as she was enjoying this rare moment of peace
The blanket suddenly shifted.
Before Bibi Dong could react, a small round face emerged from beneath the covers.
A pair of drowsy, half lidded eyes peeked up at her, followed by a tiny yawn.
Then, as if this were the most natural thing in the world, the small girl rubbed her sleepy eyes and greeted:
"Good morning, Mama..."
Boom!
Bibi Dong's mind went blank.
Her entire body froze.
"K Keli?!"
"Wait… am I dreaming?"
How else could she explain why her future daughter was suddenly snuggling in her bed, cutely greeting her as if it were a normal morning?
She instinctively reached out and gently pinched the girl's cheek.
Soft.
Warm.
Real.
"Mmm… Mama, why are you pinching my face?"
Keli pouted slightly, rubbing her cheek with her small hands, completely confused by the strange action.
She had no idea that she had just time traveled.
To her, she had simply gone to sleep as usual and then mysteriously woken up somewhere else.
Everything in her memories felt perfectly normal.
Bibi Dong, on the other hand, could hardly breathe.
She continued gently pinching the girl's cheeks, confirming again and again until she finally accepted the truth.
This wasn't a dream.
She was really holding her daughter from the future.
Her rational mind struggled to accept it, but after the recent temporal anomaly, she knew…
It wasn't impossible.
Had this happened before the time disturbance, she would have never believed it.
But now…
"She really came from the future..."
Bibi Dong slowly sat up, still in shock.
Holding the small girl in her arms, she gently adjusted her tone, trying to sound as warm and motherly as possible
"Keli… do you remember how you got here?"
Hearing the question, Keli tilted her head, frowning in deep thought.
Bibi Dong stared intently, anxiously waiting for an answer.
After a long pause, Keli finally shook her head.
"I don't know, Mama!"
She responded honestly, her large eyes blinking with pure innocence.
Bibi Dong's heart ached slightly.
To her, this child was still too young to even comprehend what was happening.
How could she possibly understand concepts like time travel?
She wasn't some omniscient being she was just a sweet little girl who still clung to her mother every morning.
As far as Keli was concerned, Mama was Mama.
It didn't matter whether she was in the past, present, or future.
She had no idea that she had traveled through time.
She had no idea that she wasn't supposed to be here.
To her, this was just another normal day one where she was warmly cuddled up in her mother's arms, just like always.
