"Yes, okay," Sebastian says simply. "I'll see you on Saturday."
And this time, he doesn't get out of the car. He doesn't open my door. Doesn't walk me to the front step like he usually does, like he used to pretend to do.
He just stays there, idling in silence, while I pull the door open and step out. I don't look back. I walk up to the door, and the second I shut it behind me, I hear his engine start.
And then he drives away.
As I walk inside, I don't know what to think about Sebastian. The fact that he said that, that he would force me to sign that contract and then we'd start dating for real....is wild. Crazy, even.
I don't know if I should laugh or cry.
