"Where are they? What's taking them so long? They should be here a long time ago!" Citar grumbled under his breath as he paced up and down the designated campsite for the hegins. "And where are Rahul, Grandpa and the Mist? Why is everyone leaving us behind?" He spread his arms wide.
"Because you don't need to know about everything, Citar." Rahul entered the camp and simply sat down by the fire. 'It was fucking boring anyway, you would have fallen asleep." He rolled his eyes.
"At least we have one of the groups! Thank the spirits!" The Bolacsuk boy raised his eyes to the sky, then continued to grumble and walk up and down as if nothing had happened.
"Has he been doing this all along?" Rahul asked, eyes narrowed and his thumb pointing at his green-clad friend.
"It's getting really boring every fucking minute." Suk folded his arms in front of him, clearly visible, only a hair's breadth away from trying to wring Citar's neck, just to finally have silence. And everyone could see it in the Zovárd boy that he was seriously thinking about how best to kill their friend.
"Wandi! Thank the spirits!" Citar screamed happily and, not caring at all that everyone was staring at him, ran to the approaching danovus pair and jumped straight into the boy's neck. "I was so worried about you." He squeezed Wandi and closed his eyes, as if he wanted to shoo away some bad thought.
"I'm here, Citar. Everything is fine. I would never leave you." The oldest danovus assured him, as he pulled the boy to him. He closed his eyes and for a few moments just enjoyed having his soulmate in his arms. Then he pulled away from him a little and placed a gentle kiss on the top of his head. "Come, we have news. We need to tell everyone." He glanced at Physalis Alkekengi, making it seem like he needed confirmation, even though both danovuses knew that this was not the case.
So it was no wonder that the female danovus just rolled her eyes before marching on towards the hegins. However, she didn't stop there, but simply stood in front of Tele Tete and, as if the man were just a rag doll, pulled him up from the ground to kiss him in front of everyone. Of course, the hegin man turned red as a result of this and only let go when he realized that Alkekengi wasn't going to stop kissing for anyone, so it would be wiser to return the kiss.
"What happened?" The hegin man finally asked softly, when the danovus woman felt that their kiss had lasted long enough.
"I hate politics." Physalis Alkekengi grimaced.
"That's not exactly an answer." Kamu grimaced, still leaning against a tree near Tele Tete with his arms folded in front of him.
"We managed to persuade the danovuses to make peace." Wandi finally said, a faint smile on his lips, as if he couldn't quite understand how they were able to do the impossible.
"Wonderful!" Etele applauded enthusiastically, who appeared at that moment with Tame at his side. "Then we can retreat completely." He started to nod.
"As a matter of fact." Wandi raised his voice cautiously, then swallowed hard and continued. "The danovuses invited everyone to a peace feast. That was their only condition." The young-looking danovus scratched his neck. To tell the truth, he would have been happier if they could just leave, but there are things that cannot be avoided.
"A feast? With ghosts?" Etele grimaced and scratched his head with one hand, as if trying to reconcile the two concepts in his mind. Tame didn't look much better next to him, although he didn't scratch his head, his facial features matched Etele's, only he blinked hugely.
"Yes." Wandi nodded.
"And how did they think that would work? Do they have a box of kí hidden somewhere, or what?" Kamu asked the sarcastic question, but judging by the way he rolled his eyes at them, it was clear that he found the very thought stupid.
"A roomful, but yes." Physalis Alkekengi snapped at him and folded her arms in front of her. However, the mouth of the Ishán of the Mist's fell open at her words.
"The danovuses thought that was why the gradpa's army was attacking them." Wandi explained, and everyone turned to the blinking Etele. The second ghost king just stared in front of him for a few minutes, then held his chin and turned his head to the side with a slightly sullen face.
"Now that you mention it, it's as if something like this really come up." He muttered under his breath.
"I think it appeared among the first plans." Tame agreed with him, who had successfully collected himself by now and only shrugged when he voiced his opinion. "So, should I tell the troops to prepare for a party, Boss?" He turned to Etele, but Athira's former táltos was still lost in his thoughts and didn't even pay attention to being spoken to. "Boss?" Tame called out again, but he still didn't get any reaction.
"Svihák, for the love of ghosts, are you listening?" Rauvan raised his voice, which made everyone turn towards him in surprise, but the Zaukán boy just sat there with an emotionless face and poked the fire with a wooden stick. As soon as he finished his sentence, Etele was shaken by the cold and turned his head from side to side as if he had woken up from a deep sleep.
"Sorry, what did I miss?" He asked with a wry grin on his lips.
"Your right hand wanted to know if you participated in the peace feast." Razvan shrugged.
"Of course we do! Gather everyone, Tame!" Etele gave the order with a broad smile, and the aforementioned ghost bowed respectfully before him, then disappeared into thin air. Probably to carry out what his king had asked him to do.
"Does this mean we're stuck here for another day, counting ants?" Benkó collapsed to the ground, grumbling. "Or can we go on without you?" He suddenly raised his head, hope gleaming in his eyes. However, before Etele could answer him, Wandi cleared his throat.
"As for that, Benkó." He began, then smiled kindly. "We're invited to the party too." The boy said.
"We didn't even fight!" Achilleus blinked in confusion.
"Yeah, but they want the little danovus to be present, and he said it wouldn't work without you." Physalis Alkekengi waved and even rolled her eyes just for the sake of effect.
"Now, don't be like that." Tele Tete put his arm around the woman's waist.
"Like what?" Alkekengi wrinkled her nose.
"Like a crying little child." The hegin man chuckled. "You better show us where we need to go. I have a feeling that the táltos's army could appear anywhere. We'll have to walk there. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't risk keeping the danovuses waiting." Tele Tete explained and when everyone agreed with him Wandi and Alkekengi headed back towards the danovuses' palace, now with their friends at their heels.
