~ Ashley Pov ~
I might be Alpha Mondragon's adopted daughter, but I am not free to live like all the other children. They always lock me inside the room, fearing they might lose me just like they lost their daughter 18 years ago. I am a grown-up lady now, and I need to be free. But on second thoughts, they can't just leave me to go out like that until I wolf out before they can allow me to go out because my father Alpha Mondragon has so many enemies who might want to attack me, just to seek revenge on him.
As I stare outside through the window, I wish I could be the one in Eira's position. I stand up from my bed and peep through the window. What if I go to their village just to see her? It will be awesome.
I call my maid Miranda and beg her to cover up for me. "I am going to Alpha Ethan's village in Cathedral, and I want to go and see my new friend Eira."
Miranda is my age-mate, and she's also my maid. She tells me that, "I'm sorry my lady, but you can't go out because if Luna Isabella and Alpha Mondragon hear about it, I will be in trouble."
I tell Miranda to calm down. "I just need to leave this castle. I don't want to always leave anytime our family has an event to attend in another village. I just want to know how it feels to go out alone."
Miranda tells me that, "But you have not wolfed out yet, and it will be dangerous out there."
I tell Miranda not to worry. "I'll be fine. I can take care of myself. The only thing you can do for me right now is to prepare the horse that I will ride."
But Miranda insists that she will come with me. I tell her no. I don't want her to come with me.
Then she tells me that if she's not coming with me, then I'm not going anywhere. "Come on, Miranda. You can't come with me. Someone has to stay behind and act like me so that my parents will not know what is going on. Please just stay behind, okay? I will not stay long, I promise you."
Miranda asks me about the friend I want to go and see, when did I even met her. I tell her not to worry about that. Then Miranda leaves my room to prepare my horse. She comes back to my room and tells me that the horse is ready. We sneak out from the castle through the backdoor. I climb the horse and ride to Cathedral.
The wind is blowing on my hair, and I feel free for the first time in a long time. As I ride, I feel a sense of adventure, and my heart races with excitement. I can't wait to see Eira and find out more about her.
As I ride my horse through the streets of Cathedral village, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and fear. Excitement for finally getting out of the castle and fear of being caught by my parents. I knew I had to be careful, but I couldn't resist the urge to meet Eira again.
As I approached the castle, the guards outside looked at me suspiciously. But as soon as they saw the Royal horse I was riding, they quickly moved out of my way. I put on my best arrogant look and rode straight into the castle. Luna Emilia was standing outside with Arthur, who was shouting and demanding something.
As soon as Luna Emilia saw me, she rushed towards me with a smile. Arthur, on the other hand, had a frown on his face. I greeted Luna Emilia with a smile and bow my head a bit and asked, "Arthur what is wrong? I saw you..."
Luna Emilia told me not to mind him and that he was just being foolish.
Arthur was arguing about a maid who had been thrown into the dungeon for being accused of stealing a golden bracelet. Luna Emilia explained that Eira was the one who was thrown into the dungeon. My heart sank as I heard this, and I felt so jealous seeing Arthur standing up for Eira.
I couldn't resist and told Arthur that, "Who knows, Eira might have stolen the bracelet. They can't accuse her wrongly."
He scoffed and said, "Actually, I thought you were smarter than this! Why would you say such a thing to her? You don't even know her, you only met her once, I'm sure of that!"
I felt embarrassed by my own words and Luna Emilia told me not to stress myself and come inside the Castle to ask what brings me here. Arthur walked away with a frown on his face, and I knew I had messed up.
I changed the subject and told Luna Emilia that, "I am here to check on you and to say hello to Emma because I couldn't tell her Happy Birthday last night."
Luna Emilia asked if my parents knew about this, and I couldn't answer. I dropped my head, and she said, "Definitely, they didn't know you are here. Okay, you need to ride back now because it's very dangerous out there especially for you."
I agreed to leave, but I asked Luna Emilia for a favor. "Can you please, allow me to see Eira first?" Luna Emilia was shocked and asked why I wanted to see Eira. I couldn't think of a good answer and just said that I wanted to talk to her. Luna Emilia agreed to let me see Eira and told me to follow her.
~Eira Pov~
I could hear the sound of stones hitting the wall outside the small window of the dungeon. Emma and Daryl were throwing stones at me and calling me names. "Fake werewolf! Thief! You stole the Golden bracelet!" They shouting.
I was angry and frustrated. I knew I didn't steal anything from them, but they wouldn't stop. I wanted to tear them apart if I ever got the chance. But I knew it wasn't their fault. They were just raised that way to be a brat.
"Stop it!" I shouted at them through the window. "I didn't steal anything from you!"
But they didn't stop. They just laughed and continued throwing stones at me.
Suddenly, the dungeon door opened, and I saw Luna Emilia and Ashley standing there. I was surprised to see them.
