Chapter 248 - Chapter 249: Wonder Bitch Diana?

"How was your reading of Norse mythology last night?"

"I read it. Not very good." Lothar bit into a small cake, recalling the information documented in the texts.

Odin, the Allfather. Most Norse gods were blood relatives of his; he had countless lovers.

This was completely different from the Odin Lothar knew, who only had one daughter, Hela. As for Hela herself... that was even more ridiculous.

"The Hela I know is Odin's daughter, the Goddess of Death of Asgard." His tone shifted slightly when mentioning Hela, but quickly returned to normal. "Not Loki's daughter or whatever."

Since seeing the relationship chart of the gods in Norse mythology, Lothar completely understood. This Hela was not that Hela.

Still, Lothar couldn't help but wonder if there was some unknown connection between the two worlds.

After all, despite the discrepancies in identities, many other aspects of this world's Norse mythology were strikingly similar to the Asgard he knew.

This included, but wasn't limited to, Odin's weaponry, and his adversaries.

Lothar even saw the name Laufey. The Frost Giant King he had once casually tossed around like a toy also existed in this world's Norse mythology, and was also the Frost Giant King.

Setting aside Loki and others he didn't know, this couldn't simply be explained away as coincidence. And in fact, Woz was already, under his command, researching related information following this "coincidence" lead.

Of course, Lothar wouldn't tell any of this to the woman named Mera. He knew Mera certainly had her own agenda, but he didn't care.

He just wanted to go home now.

Then he would bring Odin a true Ragnarök.

He wanted Odin to taste pain; he wanted to recreate the scenes from the Ragnarök volume in his hand.

He hadn't been able to save Hela, so he would just destroy all of Asgard to join her in death.

To accomplish all this, he had to find an energy source powerful enough to open a cosmic pathway.

The Reality Stone was currently out of the question; he could only start with this world's native energy sources.

According to information Woz had gathered, this world's humans seemed to have once possessed an extremely powerful energy source.

Lothar didn't know what it was, and the digital records Woz could retrieve about it were very limited. The last known time and location recorded in the network database for that energy source was in Britain, after this world's First World War.

That was Lothar's next destination. He was going to that "Britain."

"So, do you have any plans next?" Mera, with her own calculations ticking, looked up and asked.

"No." Lothar took off his sunglasses. His gaze, returning from the sea horizon, inadvertently fell upon something that made him show a rare expression of surprise.

"Diana???"

...

Twenty minutes earlier, Hyblea Hotel, Room 91.

Diana, having checked in, was on a satellite call with Bruce Wayne.

"Are you sure they're on this hotel's observation balcony?"

Opening her suitcase, Diana began shedding her clothes one by one.

Bruce Wayne's low voice came from the satellite phone placed on the TV cabinet: "Alfred located him using facial recognition technology. Our awakened descendant of a god doesn't seem to fully understand the power of modern technology yet."

"You've already confirmed his identity?" Unburdened by clothes, Diana reached into her suitcase, choosing a light blue bikini.

"If the Norse gods truly existed, they couldn't have escaped that twilight catastrophe."

Ragnarök wasn't just a word.

"So, Diana, you two should have common ground."

As a fellow descendant of gods, Diana had also experienced her initial period of adjusting to human society.

This was why Bruce Wayne wanted Diana to approach Lothar.

In this sensitive period following Superman's death, how much benefit could an awakened descendant of a god bring to this Earth?

Just look at Diana herself.

Dark forces from beyond the universe had already sent their vanguards; Bruce had to make the most of every power at his disposal.

"What about the woman with him? Is she also a descendant of a god?" Diana hadn't forgotten Bruce mentioned two people earlier.

"No, that woman probably isn't. From the surveillance footage, she seems to know our protector of the oceans, who's still in the hospital."

"Most likely someone from the undersea."

"Is that so? I understand. I'll handle him."

Diana comprehended.

A descendant of a god from the Norse mythological era, who fell into slumber for some reason, gradually sank to the seabed due to geological shifts, and then awoke in modern times.

After being discovered by the people of the sea, they sent someone to bring him ashore to search for information about the Norse mythological era, to help him understand what happened back then.

This logic seemed perfectly sound to Diana. After all, she knew of Atlantis's existence. The history lessons on Themyscira also spoke of the former kings of Atlantis, and the trident that unified the seven seas.

With the intention of sharing her own experience, and to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings, Diana specifically wore a bikini, as Bruce suggested, pretending to be a tourist.

In any era, beauty was always a woman's first choice for quickly establishing a connection with an unfamiliar man.

But when Diana deliberately walked towards Lothar with a model's stride, the name that came from his mouth stunned her.

"Diana???"

"You know me?" Diana, who had planned to make contact casually as she passed by, now had a legitimate reason to approach Lothar.

Moreover, she was genuinely confused. She was quite certain she had never met this man. Why could he accurately call her by name?

"You know her?" Mera was also incredibly puzzled. She knew Diana, as the latter had been present during Superman's recent death. But wasn't Lothar from another universe? How did he know her too?

"Not only do I know you, I watched you turn to dust before my very eyes." Lothar stood up, walking step by step towards Diana, his sharp gaze seemingly able to pierce through all disguises in this world.

This was the third time.

The first time, he watched her turn into a handful of dust in the Black Quadrant.

The second time was in Agamotto's time training ground.

Now, it was the third time, in a universe he had never set foot in before.

"Wonder Bitch Diana." Lothar narrowed his eyes, observing Diana's suddenly changing expression.

Diana's face was not pleasant. Anyone being called a "bitch" without reason wouldn't have a pleasant expression.
