Chapter 174 - Chapter 175: Who Is Dormammu?

"Horus?"

"What is that?"

"Where did you get this?"

Hela stepped past Lothar, her voice heavy with unprecedented seriousness as she stared at the golden relic in Menis' hand, awestruck by the sheer magical energy it radiated.

She could swear by the Valhalla of Asgard, excluding the artifacts owned by her father, Odin, this was the second most powerful magical storage item she had ever encountered. Only the Frost Giants' legendary Casket of Ancient Winters rivaled it.

No, that wasn't quite right.

Hela had the distinct sense that this golden artifact possessed another form, one that could surpass even the Casket in magical capacity.

"L-Lord Savior, what's wrong?"

Clearly shaken by Hela's reaction, Menis faltered. Even Lothar hadn't expected such a dramatic response from Hela over what seemed to be just a powerful magical item.

"Woz?"

Raising an eyebrow, Lothar deployed his ace in the hole.

From the circular device on Lothar's wrist, Woz activated with glowing eyes. Instantly, data streamed across Lothar's eyes, analyzing the artifact in Menis' hand.

"Outer God: Horus. Known as the 'Hawk God' due to his falcon-headed humanoid form."

"The Eye of Horus," Woz continued, "is, as the name suggests, a sacred relic formed from Horus' right eye. It possesses the power of true sight, protection, healing, restoration, and exorcism."

"Among the many extra-dimensional demon gods who glorify conquest and destruction, Horus was an outlier, often targeted by the others for his divergence."

"Horus' last known physical manifestation dates back over 3,000 years in Universal Standard Time."

"Back then, the 'Hawk God' Horus fought a mysterious entity known as the 'God of the Dark Dimension.' The outcome of that battle remains unknown."

As the final syllable of Woz's voice faded, a heavy silence fell. The weight of what they'd just heard settled over everyone.

"An Outer God from 3,000 years ago..." Lothar narrowed his eyes, now truly intrigued. "Now I really want to know how you got your hands on the Eye of Horus."

All eyes turned to Menis, whose face was full of stunned disbelief. The two wisps of his moustache trembled as his lips quivered. From behind Lothar, The Other's expression darkened.

"Truly worthy of the title, Savior..." The Other muttered bitterly.

He could practically feel his position being threatened. Especially when he caught the smirk forming at the corner of Lothar's mouth, it stabbed at his pride like a dagger named "Menis."

"Half a year ago, after Lord Savior saved me, I encountered a group of sorcerers who claimed to be disciples of the Sorcerer Supreme."

"I wanted to train under them, but sadly, I lacked the necessary talent. After thirty days, I gave up and returned home, here, to Upper Egypt."

"I took up my father's scepter and became king. It was then that I found the 'Millennium Eye.'"

Menis raised the golden relic, his gold-dyed bangs lifting despite the still air.

"Of course, 'Millennium Eye' is just what we call it. It's been passed down in our tribe for over a thousand years."

"But once I accepted it, I awakened the power of the Outer God, Horus."

"Through the Eye's guidance, I learned to seal extra-dimensional beasts into stone tablets and command them."

"I even discovered Horus' corpse, lying in a now-dead dimensional space."

"He died... slain by a dark overlord known as Dormammu."

"But before his death, he tore a portion of his power from his body, power capable of restraining Dormammu, and hid it within the Millennium Eye, waiting for a successor…"

Menis spoke solemnly, retelling Horus' tragic saga. Lothar looked thoroughly uninterested, but Hela was absolutely riveted.

It was like a Midgardian myth straight out of The Odin Saga Anthology.

Except—

"Who's Dormammu?" Hela asked, intrigued.

Woz had found no trace of such a being in its database, though that might've been due to limited access. Still, even Hela's extensive Asgardian education had never once mentioned Dormammu.

"I'm sorry, my Lord Savior," Menis replied, bowing his head. "I inherited Horus' power, not his memories."

"And to this day, I've never encountered anything or anyone connected to Dormammu."

The Eye of Horus contained no significant intel about Dormammu, leaving even Menis, its bearer, unable to uncover the full truth about events from 3,000 years ago.

"Is knowing who Dormammu is really that important?" Lothar asked, disinterested.

He'd already slain one so-called 'Dark Lord,' Malekith of Svartalfheim, and claimed the Aether for himself. This new one didn't impress him.

What did interest him, however, was Orphe, the Outer God who had his eyes set on the Flerken.

"You're right, Lord Savior," Menis said respectfully. "I'll now use the Eye of Horus to open a gate to Orphe's dimensional plane. Of course, I'll need the cooperation of your pet."

The Flerken that had been abducted by Orphe's forces still retained spatial coordinates from that dimension, coordinates Menis could use.

"Meow~"

The Flerken perched on Lothar's shoulder turned, blinking large round eyes. Its tiny mouth formed a pout of dramatic reluctance.

When Lothar gave no response, it let out a small sigh and halfheartedly extended its right paw to Menis.

Arcane chants echoed—layered and harmonious, as if choirs of angels sang praises right beside Lothar's ears.

The golden Eye of Horus erupted with radiant light, slicing through the skies above the royal capital!

...

Dark Dimension.

Dormammu, in his healing slumber, abruptly awakened. His massive eyes snapped open, locking onto the direction of Midgard.

"That's Horus' power…"

"Cuba. Investigate."

"Yes, Lord Dormammu."

In a snowy temple of ice, a young man in white robes bowed respectfully.

...

At the Sanctum Sanctorum.

The Sorcerer Supreme, still resisting the incursion of Outer Gods, opened his eyes. His gaze shifted toward distant Egypt, a puzzled frown on his brow. The emerald pendant on his chest began to glow.

...

Upper Egypt, Royal Capital.

The clear blue sky tore open as a massive white arm burst through. A towering figure with a locust-like head stepped out of the rift, descending upon the ancient earth of Egypt.

"I am invincible! I am unstoppable! I have ARRIVED—!"

Before the demon god could finish his triumphant roar, a massive golden fist struck him square in the face.

The cry was cut short.

Hovering in midair, arms crossed, a figure bathed in golden light stared down at the fallen locust-like titan. His emerald eyes gleamed with disdain.

"Invincible?"

"Unstoppable?"
