Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2:THE LAST ONES LEFT

Chapter 2: The Last Ones Left

Blood. That's all Evelyn knew anymore.

She had spent days—or maybe just hours, time didn't exist in this nightmare—ducking in and out of shadows, dodging something she couldn't even see. The Ocean Dawn was dead in the water, drifting like a floating graveyard. Her crew? Gone.

One by one. Without a sound.

Now she was alone.

For now.

Evelyn's Survival – How She Lived Long Enough to Be Rescued

She figured out the rules fast.

Don't trust silence. If it got too quiet, that meant they were near. Never stand in the open. She saw what happened to Vasquez. One second, he was tightening a rope. The next, a blur of darkness swallowed him whole. They can't take you if they can't reach you.

That's why she crawled into the ship's supply closet, stacking crates to block the door. That's why she kept the rifle aimed at the fucking walls, heart hammering like a war drum.

She wasn't dying here.

No fucking way.

When she found the emergency beacon, she practically punched the button, praying someone was still out there.

The radio crackled. Then—

"This is Captain Harry Marsh, U.S. Military Search and Rescue. Who am I speaking to?"

Evelyn choked on a breath.

"Rhodes. Captain Evelyn Rhodes. My ship's lost. My crew's dead. These things—" She swallowed. "They're still fucking here."

A pause.

Then Harry's voice, steel-cold.

"Hold on, Rhodes.

The team didn't meet all at once. They weren't some happy, lucky group that magically survived. They crawled through hell to find each other.

1. Harry, Nathan & Lyra (The Military Side)

Harry's team was meant to be a standard recovery mission. Get in, rescue survivors, get out. Easy.

Except it wasn't.

Nathan Wolfe and Lyra Morgan—combat specialist and engineer—had already seen weird shit before. Covert ops that went silent. Soldiers that "went AWOL" but never turned up anywhere.

The moment they landed on the Ocean Dawn, it was clear—this wasn't a rescue. It was a goddamn trap.

One of their guys went first. No sound. No warning. Just gone.

Then another.

By the time they found Evelyn, they were already down to three.

2. Cass, Ryo & Owen (The Outsiders)

Cass Sinclair wasn't supposed to be here.

She was a journalist. A good one. The kind that found real stories, the kind the government didn't want people knowing. That's how she met Ryo and Owen—contacts in the underground information network.

When they heard whispers of a ship vanishing—then reappearing—they knew something was fucked.

They hired a boat. Went looking.

And found hell instead.

Their captain disappeared first. One second he was steering. The next? Only his fucking hat was left behind.

Cass, Ryo, and Owen barely made it onto the Ocean Dawn, thinking they'd find answers.

Instead, they found bodies.

And worse? They weren't alone.

How They All Finally Met

Evelyn, Harry, Nathan, and Lyra were already moving toward the lifeboats when they heard the screams.

Cass.

She was pinned against a bulkhead, something wrapping around her leg, pulling her toward the dark.

Ryo fired first. Hit nothing.

Nathan tackled Cass, ripping her free while Owen screamed, "FUCK FUCK FUCK GO GO GO!"

That was it. No questions. No "who the fuck are you?"

Just survive first, talk later.

The last seven people left standing hit the lifeboat and gunned it.

Behind them?

The Ocean Dawn cracked in half.

Something huge, massive, slithered through the wreckage. Glowing eyes watched from the deep, like the ocean itself was hungry.

They made it out.

Barely.

The Team is Born

They drifted in silence.

No one spoke. Not for a long time.

Then Harry sighed, rubbing a hand over his face. "Well, that was a fuckin' disaster."

Cass barked out a laugh, half-crazed. "No shit."

Evelyn looked at the wreckage behind them. At the blood still staining her hands.

She wasn't done.

"We need to figure out what they are."

Harry met her gaze. "And then what?"

Evelyn clenched her fists.

"We kill them."

That was the beginning.

That was the birth of The Hunters of Silent Creatures.

Final Shot

The ocean stretched endlessly around them.

But Evelyn knew the truth.

They weren't alone.

The Silent Killers were still out there.

And next time?

They wouldn't be the ones running
