Chapter 50.
Felix hadn't used the three-pointed double-edged spear much since he had it forged by the dwarves. He had stored it away in the pocket space, and during his previous battle with Homelander, he hadn't taken it out. At that time, he felt it would be unfair to use a weapon against someone who didn't use one themselves. Felix also wasn't skilled with weapons, preferring to fight with flexibility and agility, as he did with Homelander.
But this time was different. Dormammu's massive form and overwhelming power meant that Felix needed every advantage he could get. To take down such a formidable opponent, he couldn't afford to hold back. The weapon, created by the Dwarf King Eitri, would provide a significant boost to his strength.
With the three-pointed double-edged spear now in his hand, Felix's power surged once more, his energy rising to new heights. The silver lightning surrounding him began to shift in color, turning into a strange, radiant blue.
"What weapon is Felix holding? It looks so strange," the onlookers murmured.
Tony was the first to speak up. He had grown familiar with Felix but had never seen him use this weapon before.
"It's the weapon the Dwarves made for him, just like my Stormbreaker, crafted by the Dwarf King himself."
Thor, who had just been knocked by Dormammu and had smashed through several small asteroids, recovered quickly. He wasn't planning to rush in and help again but instead decided to watch the fight from the sidelines. He hovered near Tony, enjoying the spectacle.
"By the way, I think it has a name. What was it again? Oh right, something like Heaven's Extinguisher?" Thor said.
The librarian, Wang, chimed in, "Oh! Heaven's Extinguisher!"
Thor nodded, agreeing with the name. "Yeah, that's what Felix called it!"
However, Wang, feeling particularly proud of his knowledge–, corrected them, "Oh! This is the Three-Pointed Two-Edged Spear! It's based on the weapon used by Yang Jian, the Erlang God in Chinese mythology!"
Thor was baffled.
"Three-Pointed Two-Edged Spear? Yang Jian's weapon? What's this about?"
"The Three-Pointed Two-Edged Spear looks way cooler than your weapon!" Wang said with excitement.
"You Chinese are really something!" Thor exclaimed, stunned.
Felix, now with super hearing, overheard the conversation. The mention of Yang Jian made him falter for a moment, almost losing his focus and dropping out of the air.
Dormammu's massive attack was finally charged up, and it was coming straight for him.
Felix didn't hesitate. He knew the power Dormammu was about to unleash would be catastrophic, but he wasn't worried. He had the ability to escape using his superpowers if needed. But he didn't want to back down. He was fully prepared to face Dormammu head-on.
As Dormammu's attack neared, Felix focused his energy. He channeled blue space energy mixed with silver lightning into his three-pointed two-edged spear, feeling a slight vibration as the weapon seemed to respond to his power.
"Not enough? Then I'll give you more!" Felix thought, closing his eyes to draw more power, drawing in an immense amount of blue space energy and channeling it into the weapon.
Dormammu finally unleashed his attack: a terrifying dark beam, streaked with purple energy, shot straight toward Felix. The beam was like something from a science fiction movie, full of raw, destructive power.
"Anything can be cut if your heart wants it!" Felix suddenly thought, hearing a phrase that seemed to resonate deeply within him.
As the beam closed in on him, Felix's eyes snapped open. He gripped his sword tightly, and with a powerful motion, he swung the Heaven Extinguisher upward from below, meeting Dormammu's devastating attack head-on!
With Felix's sweeping motion, a crescent-shaped blue light blade appeared, slicing through the massive energy beam Dormammu unleashed. The beam, which had a nearly ten - meter diameter, was instantly met by the blue light blade, which initially was only two meters long. But in the blink of an eye, the blade expanded to over ten meters in size and moved with incredible speed, heading straight for Dormammu's attack.
The collision between the two attacks was quiet, with no earth-shattering explosion or energy shockwave. Instead, as the two forces met, the blue light blade cleaved the energy beam into two, causing one beam to split and rush past Felix, narrowly missing him. The energy beams shot behind him, tearing through dozens of asteroids, destroying them instantly as the debris was shattered by the immense power of the beam. Dormammu's attack, however, lacked the true destructive force it had initially promised.
The blue light blade continued its path, growing in size and cutting directly toward Dormammu's face. It had grown from ten meters to several dozen meters and was now larger than Dormammu's massive face. Dormammu was unable to evade, and the light blade struck him directly across his face.
The blade continued its trajectory, slicing through kilometers of space. By the time it passed through multiple planets, it had diminished to only a few –hundred meters in size before fading away entirely. Behind it, the planets that were hit were cleaved cleanly in half, their surfaces as smooth and reflective as mirrors, as though they had been sliced by an invisible blade.
Despite the seemingly devastating attack, Dormammu's face appeared unharmed at first, which caused the onlookers to question the effectiveness of Felix's strike.
Tony, watching from afar, exclaimed in confusion, "What's going on? It looks like Dormammu's still intact, but I don't understand why he isn't moving or reacting."
Thor, observing the battle closely, responded with a calm voice, "No, look carefully. There's a faint blue line across Dormammu's face. It's a thin, glowing blue line."
Thor's perceptive senses confirmed that Felix's attack had landed with force, and even from a distance, he felt a chilling pressure, as if the attack could not be easily resisted. Thor continued, "Felix's attack was powerful—he may not have fully defeated Dormammu yet, but it's certainly not without effect."
At this point, Felix, confident in his attack, was certain it had caused some serious damage. His confidence was soon validated when Dormammu's face began to show signs of injury. The blue line across Dormammu's face grew brighter, indicating the severity of the damage. Dormammu roared in pain, the deep, tremoring sound reverberating through space. No matter how much Dormammu tried to repair the damage, his body—a construct of pure dark energy—was unable to recover from the cut.
The blue line grew more pronounced, and Dormammu realized that no matter how much dark energy he mobilized, the injury would not heal. It was as if the special energy embedded in the wound was preventing his dark energy from repairing the damage. The dark energy, upon touching the special energy, was absorbed, preventing any healing.
This marked a significant turn in the battle. Dormammu, once thought to be invincible, was now facing the limitations of his own power. The cut inflicted by Felix was not only physical but also had a deeper, more destructive effect on Dormammu's body and his ability to regenerate.
The special energy Felix had imbued in his attack continued to gnaw away at Dormammu's body, accelerating its decay. The energy wasn't just weakening Dormammu's regenerative abilities—it was feeding off his own dark energy, making the process of healing impossible. Dormammu, overwhelmed and in pain, roared in frustration and fury.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY BODY!!?"
Dormammu growled, his voice laced with both anger and fear. He could feel his body breaking down and had no idea how to stop it.
Felix, maintaining an innocent expression, casually responded, "What did I do? I didn't do anything. I just thought you couldn't resist fighting. I'm just here for the battle!"
Felix's voice was filled with mock innocence. After all, he hadn't expected his attack to be as effective as it was. He had merely summoned his weapon and prepared for a long, hard fight, thinking that like his last encounter with Homelander, it would take several rounds before the opponent was defeated.
But this time, the battle was different. Dormammu's massive face was already split in two, and the blue space energy attached to the wound was continuing to erode Dormammu's body. Even Dormammu's dark energy couldn't repair the damage. Felix was beginning to realize that the power of his move was far beyond what he had anticipated.
"I didn't even try hard. How is this happening so quickly?" Felix thought to himself, half-amused and half-surprised. He had expected a drawn-out struggle, not this immediate success.
Dormammu, struggling to keep his composure, couldn't hold back his fury.
"You…!" he screamed, feeling his body decay faster with every passing moment. His once indomitable form was now at the mercy of Felix's attack.
Taking advantage of Dormammu's weakened state, Felix quickly proposed his terms.
"Enough with the threats. If you agree to leave Earth, I'll stop this energy from harming your body further. You can still preserve what's left of yourself and heal!"
But Dormammu, filled with rage and defiance, refused.
"I'll never leave the Earth! You can't destroy my body after I've spent countless years perfecting it. I'll devour the Earth and all its creatures, turning them into fuel for my dark dimension! And you, you will be the cause of all of it. You will live with endless regret and pain!"
His words were filled with madness, driven by the destruction of his physical form. Dormammu's body had been condensed over countless years, and now that it was being destroyed, he was beyond reason, determined to take everything down with him.
Felix, now feeling some exasperation, couldn't help but think, 'Is this a fake Dormammu? What is it with this guy?'
His frustration grew, but he knew he had to focus on the situation at hand. As Dormammu's body continued to disintegrate under the influence of the blue energy, Felix realized the truth—Dormammu wasn't truly dead. And the being in front of Felix was merely a manifestation of his energy.
This made things even more complicated, as Dormammu, now free from the limitations of a physical body, was more dangerous than ever.
At that moment, Tony Stark's voice called out from behind Felix.
"Felix, what's going on? Where did Dormammu's body go?"
Felix turned to face Tony, but before he could respond, the Ancient One approached. He gave a calm smile and addressed Felix directly, "Don't worry, Felix. Everything is happening as I expected."
Felix turned to the Ancient One, puzzled.
"But you knew this would happen?"
The Ancient One nodded.
–"Remember when you asked me how many times we've won against Dormammu? I gave you a signal, holding up one finger. You understood that we've only won once."
Felix's eyes widened in realization.
"So... this is the only chance we have to defeat him?"
"Yes," the Ancient One confirmed, her smile unwavering. "This is the only opportunity we'll get. That's why, Felix, I need you to do something for me."
Felix, feeling a sense of dread, hesitated. "It won't make me like Tony, right?"
The Ancient One's smile widened slightly as she replied, "Trust me, you'll be fine."
Felix's expression darkened, worried about what the Ancient One might ask of him next...
