Chapter 447 - Title: “The Envelope”

---

 – Classic's POV

I stood by the grand window of my private quarters, watching the rain drizzle down over the Blackwood courtyard. A storm was building—not just in the skies, but in the heart of the empire.

A knock echoed on the door.

"Enter," I said, without turning.

Darius stepped in, cloak soaked from the outside. He looked like a man who'd seen too much... or was about to say something he wasn't sure how to.

He reached into his coat and handed me an envelope—black, sealed with Amara's insignia. A red serpent curling around a rose.

"What is this?" I asked, not taking it yet.

"From Amara," he said. "She knows."

I chuckled softly. "Of course she does. The Tower always knows."

I took the envelope but didn't open it immediately.

"You read it?" I asked, glancing at Darius.

He shook his head. "She said only you should. But I'm guessing it's not a love letter."

"Probably not," I muttered, sliding my thumb beneath the seal.

Inside was a single black card. On it, hand-written in red ink:

"I am watching. You will declare your loyalty publicly within 48 hours. Or you will be considered an enemy of the state. No more shadows, Classic. Choose the throne—or be crushed beneath it." —Amara.

I stared at the card for a long moment, then folded it and placed it back inside the envelope.

She was bold. I had to give her that.

"You know, Darius," I said slowly, "the most dangerous wars are never fought on battlefields. They're fought in silence, between people who used to trust each other."

"She's scared," Darius said. "You've gained influence quietly. Too quietly."

I turned to him.

"She wants loyalty? She'll get it. But not how she expects. If she's going to force me to stand in public… then I'll do it loud enough to shake the castle."

Darius raised a brow. "You planning to back Chris?"

"I've always backed Chris," I said, "but now, I'm going to take control of how the empire sees me. Not as his secret supporter… but as a rightful heir to the legacy. It's time they remember the name Classic Blackwood."

Darius nodded, but I saw the tension in his eyes. He knew what this meant.

War was no longer a question.

It was a date waiting to be announced.
