Chapter 340 - Chapter 314: There's nothing we can do, it's work.

Starships traveled back and forth across the Cosmos in endless streams, the enormous logo of the Interastral Peace Corporation filling the eyes of the people of the disaster-stricken world.

Following the will of the Amber Lord of Preservation, the IPC dispatched large numbers of personnel to assist in rebuilding the devastated planet. All expenses incurred during the process were fully covered by the Interastral Peace Corporation.

It was no small sum. But the IPC had entrenched itself on Pier Point for countless Amber Eras, its coffers deep and solid.

What looked like massive spending was, to its accumulated wealth, merely a bill with a slightly larger number.

What was more, many of the materials were already stockpiled in vast quantities, meaning they were effectively being used at cost.

And besides, the sooner the cosmic markets returned to normal, the sooner economic activity could resume.

"Chiii~~"

Pitter-pattering along on four stubby little legs, Numby nudged its head against Topaz's soft thigh, laying its chubby weight against her.

"What is it, Numby?"

"Chiii~~"

"There's nothing we can do, it's work." Topaz smiled helplessly as she gently soothed Numby's emotions.

Even well-behaved Numby would get tired of the endless daily grind.

"Hehe, Numby is really adorable. Speaking of which, I remember that over at the Alchemy Commission, there is a dream-eater. Miss Topaz, would you like Numby to play with it?"

The petite foxian girl covered her mouth as she laughed, her beautiful eyes watching the constantly pampering Trotter with interest.

"A dream-eater? I remember those are creatures that feed on dreams. They're said to be very cute."

At Tingyun's words, Topaz recalled the dream-eaters she had seen before, her eyes lighting up instantly.

She even had a dedicated ecological ship for adopting little animals. It was just that dream-eaters were far too rare.

Tingyun let out a soft laugh. "Once things here settle down, let's go visit the dream-eater together."

Topaz nodded slightly, her enthusiasm for the upcoming work renewed.

As for why Topaz and Tingyun were together in the first place…

"Miss Tingyun, the Cloud Knights have cleared hazardous substances in the surrounding star regions and are now stationed on guard."

A Cloud Knight hurried over to report.

Tingyun inclined her head and smiled. "Thank you for your hard work, everyone. Once today's affairs conclude, Miss Topaz and I have prepared a small party for you all. We'll be troubling you for a while longer."

Such a grand endeavor as rebuilding the Cosmos naturally involved all the major factions as well, the Xianzhou too one among them.

"By the way, the Xianzhou Alliance seems to be making some unusual moves lately. Is there some kind of… interesting business opportunity in there? Come on, Tingyun, we're already pretty familiar with each other. Don't hold out on me." Topaz blinked and laughed.

"Business opportunities…" Tingyun narrowed her eyes, opening her folding fan to hide her smile.

"There are indeed some, but matters involving the higher-ups aren't something a person like me gets to decide." Her eyes curved with amusement.

...

Jarilo-VI.

Taking advantage of the fine sunlight, Himeko, who had gone out to purchase coffee beans, caught a glimpse of a familiar figure from the corner of her eye.

Yet something about that person's aura felt subtly different from before, leaving Himeko uncertain. As she drew closer, recognition struck, and her eyes widened.

"Miss Acheron?"

"Hm? What is it?"

Hearing the voice behind her, Acheron turned slightly, meeting Himeko's stunned gaze, fixed on her face.

Clear eyes.

So clear they were like those of a newborn. Such eyes could belong to someone with an extremely pure mindset without any distractions.

But how could they appear in an Emanator of Nihility?

"…Are you alright?" Even Himeko, who considered herself fairly experienced in life, did not know what to say at this moment, managing only a cautious greeting.

Acheron nodded slightly, her voice cool and steady. "I'm fine. I saw some things that helped me understand certain matters."

"I see… then that's a good thing. Congratulations." Himeko smiled gently.

"Are you heading out?" Acheron asked.

"Yes. I ran out of coffee beans. I heard that special coffee beans are sold on Jarilo, so I thought I'd try their new variety. Oh, would you like some too?"

Seeing the light gleaming in Himeko's eyes, Acheron nodded without hesitation.

"Alright."

...

On the Moon, Kiana was entertaining guests.

"Things seem pretty lively over there lately. I can see it even from the Moon. Do you need help?"

Kiana looked at Black Swan in front of her, her peripheral vision catching sight of two figures with pink and gray hair huddled together as she asked casually.

"It's already been handled. There's no need to trouble Miss Kiana to make the trip."

Black Swan smiled.

"I came this time to guide someone."

"Guide someone?"

Kiana shook her head slightly. Though she had grown a lot, her brain still failed to function most of the time.

Fortunately, she didn't need to think.

"Fu Hua, no, Little Herrscher of Sentience?!" Seeing the familiar face, Kiana's eyes widened.

"Tch, I don't even want to go back." The Herrscher of Sentience pouted, muttering under her breath.

Screwllum stood beside her and spoke calmly. "Prediction: according to temporal logic, only when an individual appears on their predetermined trajectory can the destiny proceed smoothly."

Translated, that meant the Herrscher of Sentience was indispensable to Earth.

To be fair. Although the Herrscher of Sentience had only existed for a short time, those fifty thousand years of memories… didn't really make her mature any faster.

Ahem. But it wasn't a big problem.

After a period of guidance, she had already recognized her own uniqueness. Even if she still disliked those people, after all, it was because of them that she came into being.

But still. She was a mighty Immortal… well, fine, also known as the Herrscher of Sentience.

It was under Ruan Mei's reminder, or rather her blunt explanation, that she came to acknowledge, or face directly, her identity as a Herrscher.

The moment she realized she was a Herrscher, she felt a bit dazed.

After all, she had been a warrior against the Honkai, practically favored by fate itself.

If this were a typical script, she should have gone mad, screamed in rage, and refused to accept it.

But, she quietly rubbed the back of her head, pouting with grievance.

That Little Herta's hammer hurt like hell. It looked like it didn't have much force, but it hurt unbearably when it hit, completely illogical.

"You're not allowed to dig through trash cans anymore!"

In life, it always helps to have a close friend who can resolve any deadlock.

...

Time is a vague concept, yet those living within it can feel it clearly during the long journey of life.

This was destined to be a long race with no visible finish line.

What kind of results one could achieve depended on powerful strength, unbreakable will, and, of course, a bit of luck that helped immensely.

"Our generation has been rather fortunate. If things were just a bit more drawn out, we would've missed it."

Looking toward the place where the Ambrosial Arbor once stood, Jing Yuan smiled softly.

On the desk before him, a cup of clear tea sent up wisps of steam, refreshing and calming.

These words came straight from his heart. His generation had experienced much.

They endured the Xianzhou's crises, lost many things, and gained much as well.

And now, an unprecedented transformation of the Xianzhou was about to unfold in their hands.

The nightmare that had plagued countless people since the pursuit of immortality, the mara, they had found a method to resolve it.

On this matter, Jing Yuan believed he had some right to speak. Sitting in the general's seat required paying a price far beyond what was visible.

For Jing Yuan, already advanced in years, a disaster born of accumulated memories was not entirely unwelcome, it was almost a release.

But before everything was fully arranged, before ensuring that the Luofu could sail steadily across the sea of stars, he could not fall.

Fortunately, all of this was about to end.

If even mara of his level could be eradicated, then the rest would naturally follow.

...

For Ruan Mei, recently only the single glance drew her complete attention.

But she had already found something even more important.

"What do you think about that?" Suddenly, Ruan Mei spoke softly.

Möbius, who along with Ruan Mei and Herta had witnessed that indescribable existence, chuckled.

"Godzilla just lying there, the power he generates is enough to make people unable to look directly at it."

Just like when a company grows to a certain scale, every move it makes brings about additional effects.

Godzilla surpassed even that principle. He was the principle itself.

Violet-like eyes shone brilliantly. Slender fingers lightly pinched the brim of a hat, while the other hand extended palm-up toward Ruan Mei, whose pupils were slightly unfocused.

"Who would've thought that our simple experiments, which never even explored in this direction, would ultimately reach the destination…"

A genius mind and outstanding talent gave her the pride of believing she could solve everything in the world.

Yet she had to admit that without the intervention of a mysterious power at a critical moment, reaching that unknown destination would have required far more effort.

As for what that mysterious power was…

The viewpoint tilted upward, revealing a giant leisurely swaying its tail.

The end.

My Review:

Rating: 3.6-3.8/5

The beginning of the book was spectacular, it was entertaining. We could see Godzilla's antics and other characters treading around him.

The ending left me wondering what was even the point of me reading this. The author power crept anyone who was required in that moment, adding settings completely illogical, and some parts where I was left scratching my head.

One thing I didn't agree was Celenova being defeated so easily.

And I felt a little off about Mobius becoming so strong in so little time, that she could fight capture Luxbane and fight against Irontomb.

It's as I said, almost like whenever characters are not needed or the author feels like it, he adds those characters or removes them.

And another important thing, each and every other person new what was going on anywhere without any communication. Like Welt discussed about Singularity Godzilla only with the Astral Express Crew, how did Herta and Ruan Mei get to know Godzilla was a Singularity Godzilla variant.

...

Anyway if you ignore my above points and few more nuisances, you can go ahead and like this book.

Thank you all for staying till the end and completing this journey with me.

"May this journey lead us starward."
