Yeah…I've been feeling a tad burnt out (as you may have been able to tell from missing days recently) so I've elected to give myself a break.
I've only done a single break from daily/twice daily chapters once before; I'll do the same time. Expect 2 week break but it may be 1 week if I'm feeling it again.
I won't say that I WON'T do any chapters but I'm not gonna force myself if I don't feel like writing. I may even do some random side chapters.
Any aforementioned side chapters will be called [BREAK EXTRAS] and then a title (rather than a number). They'll likely be taking small characters from earlier chapters and just having a little 'day in the life' but it may be set in this war time or before…or perhaps after? Something like the Halloween special if you read that.
I know nobody will likely be reading this, and even fewer will interact, but I'll ask anyway:
Any suggestions? It doesn't have to be from the story (if you haven't read), just a scenario or prompt of some sort.
"Farming", "Sword Duel", "School", etc
Also I'll try to make sure each extra is accessible to someone without knowledge of the book. I might add a quick glossary in the pre-author notes to explain laws, expressions, impressions, etc if necessary in that story. If something is accessible without knowledge, I'll say in the title, i.e,
[BREAK EXTRAS: PLACEHOLDER] standalone story.
Or
[BREAK EXTRAS STANDALONE] PLACEHOLDER
And for the future of the series, it should have some sort of ending fairly soon but it won't be definitive. It will be left quite open and very easily continued one day (unlikely).
I may start a new series on this account (both webnovel and royal road) afterwards but…I may focus on my more "serious" projects which I will be unlikely to promote here since I don't want anything "serious" to be tied to any of my social media accounts which this one is lightly linked.
But, that's something to think about weeks and probably months from now. For now, I got this.
