Chapter 17 - Unexpected Arrivals(Edited)

Ethan's vision cleared as he and Anissa found themselves standing in a dimly lit corridor. The walls were lined with ornate wood panels, and the faint hum of activity echoed from deeper within the building. Ethan instantly recognized it. 'Xavier's Mansion.'

He sighed. 'Great. Just great.'

This wasn't supposed to happen. He had only wanted to test the watch for a few moments, yet somehow, Anissa had been dragged along with him. Worse, he had no idea if she'd be forcibly returned to her own universe or if she was stuck here because she lacked a device like his.

Anissa took a moment to observe her surroundings before turning her sharp gaze to Ethan. "Where the hell have you brought me?" she demanded.

Ethan rubbed his temple. "You wouldn't believe me even if I told you."

Anissa narrowed her eyes before cracking her knuckles. "Then I'll just beat the answer out of you."

Without warning, she lunged at him.

Ethan barely had time to react before she was on him, throwing a barrage of punches with Viltrumite-level force. He blocked most of them as his body already adapting to her strength. However, he wasn't aiming to hurt her—just restrain her.

At one point, she tried to bite him.

Annoyed by that, Ethan countered with a solid kick, sending her crashing through a set of double doors—right into the middle of a ballroom.

The room had been filled with people attending the reception event, but the moment Anissa slammed into the floor, thier conversation halted.

All eyes turned toward the commotion.

A group of young X-Men and Anna, Kitty, Bobby, John, Kurt, and Angelica rushed toward the scene, along with a few others.

They arrived just in time to see Ethan pinning Anissa down, holding her firmly against the polished marble floor.

Kitty smirked. "Damn, Ethan, that was fast. Anna's gonna be mad."

Bobby whistled. "Didn't take you for the type to wrestle random women in the hallways."

John grinned. "Gotta say, mate, I'm impressed."

Ethan shot them an annoyed glare. "Stop kidding around, guys."

But before anyone could react further, Anna stepped closer and her expression is unreadable.

It was a momentary distraction, but that was all Anissa needed.

With a sudden burst of strength, she broke free from Ethan's grip and lunged before grabbing Anna by the throat.

The atmosphere shifted instantly.

The X-Men tensed, their bodies moving into battle stances. But surprisingly, Anna didn't react.

Anissa's grip tightened. "Tell me where the hell we are."

Ethan exhaled before shaking his head. "You're really not gonna like the answer."

Anna who's still unfazed tilted her head. "Lady, do ya really think I'm scared of you?"

Anissa ignored her and keeping her focus on Ethan.

"You're strong," she admitted, her grip on Anna unyielding. "Perhaps even stronger than that half-breed, Mark Grayson." A predatory smirk touched her lips. "Why waste that power? Join the Viltrumite Empire. You could even stand by my side as my partner. A warrior of your caliber would make a worthy husband. So, what is your name?"

Ethan crossed his arms. "Ethan Carter."

At that, Anna's demeanor changed.

Her usual playfulness vanished, replaced by something colder.

Her green eyes locked onto Anissa's and her lips curling into a smirk it's not a normal one but a dangerous smirk.

"You do realize," Anna said slowly, "that you just grabbed my throat… while asking my man to be your partner?"

Ethan sighed. "Of all the people you could've taken hostage, it had to be her."

Anissa didn't understand what was happening—until she suddenly felt weaker.

Her grip loosened involuntarily. Her muscles ached, and her head grew foggy. "W-What the hell—"

Anna removed her glove slowly as Anissa's entire body tensed.

Anna gently touched Anissa's wrist, and in an instant, a wave of dizziness and pain overtook the Viltrumite.

Anna smiled sweetly.

"Yes… I wanted to have children with him," Anissa admitted and her voice weaker now. "So that we could serve the Empire together."

The moment the words left her mouth, Anna's expression darkened. "…You wanted to have kids with my Ethan?"

Anissa's knees buckled. Her strength plummeted as more of her energy was drained.

She looked at Ethan with confused expression. "What… did you do?"

Ethan sighed. "You kinda did this to yourself."

Anna grabbed Anissa's face with both hands, increasing the absorption.

"You witch," she spat, "Go to hell."

Anissa let out a pained scream as her memories, strength, and abilities were absorbed.

Jean, Hank, and Professor X immediately tried to intervene.

"Anna, that's enough!" Professor X called out.

But Anna ignored them.

Her mind was consumed with rage.

How dare she try to steal my Ethan from me?!

He's mine, you bitch.

Ethan who is watching in amusement, smirked.

Bobby leaned toward John. "Dude, that's terrifyingly hot."

John nodded. "Yeah, kinda jealous."

Angelica giggled. "Ethan, you're lucky your girl is this possessive."

Logan and Professor X exchanged glances. "Ethan, get her under control," Logan muttered.

Ethan exhaled and walked over to Anna, placing a hand on her shoulder.

Anissa had already lost consciousness.

"Alright, Anna. Let go," Ethan said calmly.

Anna blinked before looking down at Anissa. Her anger faded, replaced by embarrassment.

Slowly, she released her grip, allowing Anissa to collapse onto the floor.

Anna looked around and realized, Everyone had heard everything.

Her face turned bright red.

"…Did I just say all that out loud?" she muttered.

Ethan grinned. "Oh yeah. Loud and clear. But you do realize you just absorbed a very powerful person, right?"

Anna blinked before processing that information. She flexed her fingers, feeling the newfound power coursing through her veins.

"…Huh," she muttered. "That's… somethin'."

Before she could fully grasp the extent of what she had gained, Professor X cleared his throat. "While this has certainly been… eventful," he said, "I believe we need to have a discussion." His sharp gaze landed on Ethan. "In my office. Now."

Anna stiffened. "I-I—"

"You as well, Anna," Professor X added.

Anna sighed, "Figures."

Jean and Hank moved forward, lifting Anissa's unconscious form. "We'll take her to the med bay," Jean said. "She'll need monitoring."

"She'll be fine," Ethan said. "She's a lot tougher than most species."

Jean narrowed her eyes. "That may be true, but she just had a good portion of her strength and abilities drained by Anna. We don't know how she'll react to that."

Anna smirked, "Serves her right."

Logan rolled his eyes. "C'mon, kid, don't let this go to your head."

Ethan chuckled. "Too late."

Professor X turned his chair toward the others. "Everyone else, please return to your previous activities."

The younger X-Men groaned in disappointment.

"But this was getting interesting!" Bobby complained.

John snickered. "Yeah, I wanted to see more of Anna being scary."

Kitty smirked at Anna. "You're gonna have a reputation after this, you know?"

Anna scoffed before grabbing Ethan's arm. "C'mon, lover boy. Let's go before I decide to absorb you too."

Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Kinky."

Anna turned red again as she dragged him toward Professor X's office.

**Xavier's Office**

The large doors shut behind them as Ethan and Anna stood before the Professor.

Xavier's expression was calm, but his piercing gaze told Ethan that the man had a thousand questions.

Anna fidgeted, still feeling the lingering power of the Viltrumite inside her. It was… intoxicating.

"So," Xavier began before folding his hands. "Would you care to explain what just happened?"

Ethan had anticipated the question, and his answer was ready. He leaned casually against the bookshelf.

"It's a long story," he began, "so I'll keep it simple. You remember I told you I escaped from some experimentation, right?" He waited for their nods before continuing. "During my escape, I saw a scientist guarding a small gem with his life. He died in the chaos, and I took it."

He paused, letting the memory settle. "I tried for days to understand it—I could feel it was something more—but it never responded. I eventually dismissed it as a strange trinket. But tonight, that changed. It grew hot, started vibrating... I knew something was wrong. I went to a remote area to check it, and the moment I did, it erupted. Next thing I knew, I wasn't on our Earth anymore."

He met their astonished gazes. "That gem didn't just hold energy. It contained the power to travel across parallel worlds—other Earths."

"How did you know it was other Earths?" Xavier interjected, his brow furrowed in thought. "It could have simply sent you to a different location on our own."

Ethan had expected this. "Because I didn't travel to just one place," he explained, his voice low. "What felt like a few minutes for you was days for me. I was jumping across universes."

Anna's eyes widened in alarm. Charles's expression shifted from curiosity to deep seriousness; he knew Ethan was not one to fabricate such a story.

"I began to understand," Ethan continued, "the gem wasn't sending me, it was throwing me around. I'd be cast into a universe, only to be wrenched out and hurled into another moments later. Some were… bizarre. I gathered enough information to realize I was adrift, bouncing between worlds with no control and no end in sight."

Charles was completely focused now, the gravity of the situation settling upon him. Anna with her worry growing, gently placed her hand over his.

Ethan gave her a reassuring smile. "But then, I was thrown into one world and I stayed there longer than the others. I had time to learn about it." His smile faded. "Suddenly, I was teleported right into the middle of a battle. I saw the woman who attacked Anna fighting another man. She came at me, I fought back, and in the chaos… we were both pulled back here."

Charles and Anna fell into a stunned silence for a moment before Ethan continued. "I suspect the latent energy in the gem that exploded is now gone, dissipated from me. That's why the jumps stopped and I got back."

Charles processed this, his expression sober. "So, a woman from another universe was accidentally brought here, and there is no way for you to send her back?"

Ethan nodded slowly. "I guess you can say that."

He had no way to return Anissa; the Omni watch's connection to other worlds was random, and he had no idea if or when he would ever visit her universe again.

"I'm sorry. I didn't expect any of this to happen."

Charles's eyes softened. "It's alright, Ethan. No one was seriously hurt, and you returned to us safely. That is what matters most now." He offered a faint, chastising smile. "But from next time, please be sure to inform us before you decide to test any mysterious, potentially universe-shattering gems."

Ethan and Anna both chuckled. "You got it, Professor," Ethan said.

A faint, almost imperceptible smirk touched Ethan's lips before it vanished.

Good. It seems he managed to trick the telepath.

The lie about the gem had been a necessary shield, a plausible story to hide the true source of his power—the Omni watch on his wrist.

He had carefully constructed the tale, weaving just enough truth into the fiction to make it withstand scrutiny.

To Charles Xavier, renowned for reading minds, the story would feel... coherent, its emotional beats of confusion and fear genuine, because the experimentation was real.

Xavier nodded, but his focus sharpened on the most pressing question. "This… gem of yours," he began, his voice low and intent.

"The one you took from the scientist. Can you explain who he was? Did you identify any name on him?"

"I took a peek at his ID card," Ethan said casually, "His name was Bob Uchiha."

Xavier raised an eyebrow and gave a slow, thoughtful nod. "I will see what I can uncover about this 'Bob Uchiha'." He steepled his fingers, his focus intensifying. "But more pressingly, you mentioned you spent significant time in her universe. Did you learn what she is? The source of her power—is she a mutant like us, or something else entirely?"

"A Viltrumite," Ethan said simply. "They're a warrior race. Super strong, durable, fast… Think of them like Kryptonians in dc comics, but without the whole kryptonite weakness thing."

Anna tapped her foot impatiently. "She also wanted to turn my boyfriend into her baby daddy."

Xavier chuckled softly. "Yes… that part was quite clear."

Anna's face heated up again. "Ugh. Can we forget I ever said that?"

Ethan grinned. "Not a chance."

Anna sighed. "So, what happens now?"

Ethan's expression grew serious. "I don't know."

It was the truth. This was his first time using the Omni-watch to bring someone with him. He had no idea if her presence here was permanent, or if the watch's energy would automatically expel her back to her own dimension after some time.

Anna rolled her eyes. "Great. Another super-powered homewrecker in our house."

Ethan smirked. "Jealous?"

Anna scowled. "Obviously."

Xavier exhaled. "For now, we'll keep her under observation. If she's truly stuck here, then we'll need to figure out what to do next."

Ethan nodded. "Sounds like a plan."

Xavier then turned to Anna. "And you… How do you feel?"

Anna flexed her hand before clenching her fist. "Stronger. Faster. Like I could punch a hole through a mountain." She smirked. "Kinda like Ethan."

Ethan chuckled. "Careful, babe. If you get too strong, I might have to start dodging."

Anna smirked. "Like hell you will."

Xavier tapped his fingers together. "Then we'll have Hank run some tests. In the meantime, Ethan… try to avoid bringing more Viltrumites into our world."

Ethan grinned. "No promises."

As they left the office, Anna nudged Ethan. "So… If she is stuck here, what do we do with her?"

Ethan shrugged. "Guess we'll find out."

Internally, he was satisfied; he'd successfully fooled one of the world's most powerful telepaths. Yet, a pang of guilt twisted in his chest over lying to Anna. But the secret of the Omni watch was a truth he isn't ready to share.

Meanwhile…

In the med bay, Anissa slowly stirred but remained unconscious as Hank and Jean tried to run some tests on her.
