The next morning, Felix woke up on his own, with no alarm or knocking, neither on the inner door connecting his room with Kade's, nor on the door leading to the hallway. It was still dark outside, but his phone showed that it was way past 7 AM, so it wasn't all that early. There were faint sounds of clamor coming from the other parts of the mansion, as well as from the outside, letting Felix know that at least a part of the pack was already awake and bustling about, but his immediate surroundings were all quiet and peaceful.
Felix had gone to bed before eleven the night before, so it wasn't like he didn't have enough sleep. However, even though he had gone to bed early and had been able to sleep until he woke up naturally… He still wasn't well-rested.
He simply wasn't able to sleep well. The bed was very comfortable, the sheets clean and fresh, the blanket soft and warm… But something was missing.
