Chapter 90 - 90

The Dementors were coming.

Dana smiled—these guys were as sensitive as ever.

But this also confirmed one thing: the transformation brought about by Merlin's bloodline was completely different from Animagus.

Animagus transformation turned into an animal from the inside out, while Merlin's transformation, no matter how it changed, always had a human core.

The Dementors, which Dana had been afraid of before, were no longer a threat to him at this moment.

Donna Avery was still desperately pushing away John Flint's Inferi, completely unaware of the blue light flashing outside the cell.

She was even less likely to notice that among the vast number of Dementors, one more suddenly appeared, and this Dementor quickly unified the simple and chaotic consciousness of the Dementors.

Dana Dementor spoke:

"Hoo—"

[Visit this woman more every day, but be careful not to kill her.]

"Hoo—"

[Difficult.]

"Hoo—"

[As long as you are not greedy, this is not difficult!]

"Hoo—"

[As much as possible.]

Dana Dementor left.

He was very satisfied with the current arrangement.

With John Flint and the Dementors as company, Donna Avery would definitely not be lonely in this month, right?

On the day before the little wizards were about to return to Hogwarts, the new city was finally officially put into use.

The richest man, Count Darke de Dentis, named the new city Merlin City to commemorate the great magical pioneer, the immortal Merlin.

The entire European wizarding world had no objection, because not only Britain, but wizards in other parts of Europe also recognized Merlin's position in magical history.

The new city is located in England, and it is reasonable to name it after Merlin.

On this day, Merlin City was very lively.

The British Ministry of Magic specially set up an inbound channel for foreign wizards in Merlin City. Wizards from other places could be directly teleported to Merlin City from the Ministry of Magic in their respective countries.

Draco Malfoy had never seen so many wizards in his life, even when he was younger and taken to the Quidditch World Cup by his father, he had never seen so many people.

The entire Merlin City was crowded with wizards from all over the world. This is currently the only city in the world that belongs entirely to wizards.

Shopping and entertainment are all available. Here, you can see real exotic customs, and you can even find Muggle product stores adapted for the wizarding world.

The entire city is a commercial complex, and the earlier rumors that several major European families were going to move their main industries to Merlin City made wizards flock here.

Once the flow of people increases, it means business opportunities. Big families and large business associations came drawn by the opportunity, which is why the house prices in Merlin City were speculated at sky-high prices earlier.

In the 1990s without the Internet economy—of course, if no changes are made, even in the 2020s, the wizarding world might still lack the Internet economy—such a city that integrates all commercial paths into one is obviously unique and irreplaceable in the wizarding world.

Here is not only a commercial center, but also a cultural and entertainment center, a gathering place for all the essence of the wizarding world.

Count Dentis's "complex" concept, more than ten years ahead of its time, was an eye-opener for the traditionally closed wizarding world.

Draco followed closely behind his father and teleported to the highest tower in Merlin City—they were going to participate in the opening ceremony of Merlin City's operation.

The cylinder, less than three meters in diameter but sixty meters high, supported a huge circular platform with a radius of three hundred meters. If this kind of building were placed in the Muggle world, the designer might immediately spiral into a breakdown.

But this is the wizarding world, and it is normal to see any form of imaginative structure.

Arriving at the top platform, the urban area of Merlin City stretched out unobstructed before them.

Lucius Malfoy went to chat with familiar friends, while little Draco ran to the edge of the platform, looking down at the city with a shocked expression.

This was truly spectacular!

The neat cyan roofs formed square after square, and the tiny figures moving between them were wizards from all over the world, drawn by its reputation.

"Look, Count Dentis is here!"

Everyone's eyes gathered on the handsome figure teleporting to the platform.

Count Dentis smiled, greeted everyone, and walked to a platform at the center.

"Everyone here is my good friend. Thank you all for coming to attend the launch ceremony of Merlin City—"

"Humph! What good friend! I can't afford it."

An unpleasant voice interrupted, and everyone turned to see Bernard Julius.

This was the patriarch of the Julius family. Though not among the Sacred Twenty-Eight, their wealth came from breeding Flobberworms, earning them the nickname "Caterpillar Family."

Seeing the Count looking at him calmly, Bernard Julius angrily continued:

"Am I wrong? You promised to sell me land but gave it to Salad Bluefield! I dare not be called a friend by someone like you, lest I get stabbed in the back someday!"

There was immediate commotion.

"Salad Bluefield? The former owner of the Chudley Cannons? I heard the Count exchanged a piece of land for ownership of the Chudley Cannons."

"Wow, that's a bargain! My shop cost two million Galleons!"

The Count on stage showed no irritation. He looked at Julius and calmly asked:

"Mr. Julius, regarding that land, did we ever sign a contract or any letter of intent?

If so, then I apologize. My subordinates may have overlooked it.

But if not—I must remind you that you are currently accusing a Count without evidence."

Everyone present, hoping for favors from the Count, knew verbal promises meant nothing.

Even Bernard Julius knew that but was simply acting on jealousy.

Seeing the Count's composed response, he snorted and left in frustration.

The Count clapped his hands.

"Alright, everyone, let's continue—"

He pointed outside the city.

"Originally, I prepared magical salutes, but that seemed too common.

So I prepared five hundred trebuchets to help liven up the launch of the new city!"

Trebuchets?

Everyone looked shocked.

"Let's begin," said the Count.

Just then, Draco Malfoy's terrified voice rang out:

"Look over there! What is that!!"

Everyone looked—tiny glowing orbs were flying toward the city.

These were powerful magical bombs!

Is the Count insane? Is he going to destroy his own city?

The dignitaries rushed to the teleportation platforms.

Fudge fell down in fear—if any important figures were hurt today, his political career would be over.

"Everyone, don't panic!" the Count said calmly.

"Merlin City's defense is the best in the wizarding world. This level of attack is just fireworks before its protective magic array."

He pointed to the sky. The first bomb exploded in midair, intercepted by invisible runes.

One, two, three…

The Count was right. The powerful bombs became nothing more than a firework display.

People gradually relaxed, watching the colorful flames blossom above.

Perhaps from today onward, the safest place in the wizarding world was no longer Hogwarts,

But Count Dentis's City!
