Every shadow feels like Murmur's return. While she does care for Jake, her love is tainted by fear. She cannot afford to be too soft, nor can she risk losing another child.
Relationship with Jake: Strict yet protective—she refuses to let him leave, not because she is cruel, but because she believes his death will lead to hers. She teaches Jake how to survive, how to hide, how to remain unnoticed. But never how to fight, for she believes fighting only leads to Murmur finding them. If Jake disobeys her or tries to leave, she reacts in panic rather than anger. She will beg, plead, even lock him away if she must.
Trauma & Regret: Doesn't know what happened to Charun or Agiel, but the fear of what Murmur did to them haunts her nightmares. She saw Armaros die—the strongest demon, a warrior beyond compare, and he could not stop Murmur. That moment cemented in her mind that no one can win against Murmur. She blames herself for not acting when Armaros was killed, for being too afraid to save him, but deep inside, she knows she would have died too.
Backstory
Once Human: 200-300 years ago, she was a human guard protecting her son. She fought to the bitter end when the Demon King's army attacked, but she was ultimately cursed, transformed into a demon.
The Great Banishment: She and the entire village were pushed into a massive hole, created through dark sorcery. When she awoke, she was no longer human—her skin was red, her body altered. The hole was sealed, trapping her and countless others in the Underground.
Life in the Underground: She fought for survival, but over time, she found herself clinging to motherhood as her reason to keep going. Despite being a demon, she tried to maintain her humanity, refusing to become a monster like the others.
The Fall of Armaros: She witnessed Murmur's betrayal and slaughter of Armaros. She could have tried to intervene, but fear held her still. She saw Murmur turn his gaze toward her, and that was enough—she fled, disappearing into the Ruins. Since then, she has lived in hiding, watching from the shadows, too afraid to ever take action again.
Abilities & Combat Style
Weapon: A whip, infused with arcane energy.
Combat Style:
Evasive & Punishing—does not fight directly but punishes enemies who get too close. Uses her whip's reach to control distance, and her magic to strike from unexpected angles.
Magical Abilities:
Heart Strike – Creates floating pink hearts, which explode upon impact, causing magic-based damage. She can chain multiple hearts together to create delayed chain explosions.
Whip Infusion:
Arcane Aura – Enhances her whip to assist in creating pink hearts.
Electrified Chain – Enhances her whip with electricity, causing earthquakes upon impact. Anyone touching the ground is stunned momentarily from the shockwave.
Soul Drain (Hidden Power) – If cornered and desperate, she can steal a fragment of an opponent's life force by striking their Core (soul). However, this weakens her emotionally, making her trauma resurface.
