Synopsis
In the kingdom of Montesis, where magic is forbidden, Don (Sei-naru Shaw), a 129-year-old repairman and technician with elemental abilities, dreams of protecting Mary and creating a peaceful home, but loses his powers. His life changes when he is forced to become a Protector to maintain order and world peace, just as his parents were in his forgotten past. The journey begins when Don falls in love with the beauty and culture of the kingdom of Montesis during his first expedition. This world is divided between two magical forces: the positive ether and the negative ether (“the Nothing”), the latter ruling Don and making him a magnet for the dark forces of the underworld. As the sole survivor of his race, Don becomes the target of Earth's most powerful king and Mei-Wei, one of the most influential women for her special medicines. The conflict escalates after the destruction of his village, the murder of his teacher and his platonic love, Mary's mother, which follows the appearance of a prince from the underworld, who plans to unleash chaos through the forest. Consumed by revenge, Don accepts Mei-Wei's offer, though he refuses to be what his father was, the Protector, revealing his darker, more apathetic side. As the defenders of the realm outnumber him in strength, Don will compensate with tactics and much violence, beginning his descent into darkness. However, an inner voice persists, warning him of the consequences.

Chapter 1 - THE BEGINNING OF IT ALL: Magic or Power – CH1

"Magic is imagination, and imagination is infinite, and infinity is power."

To this day, I have no memories left of that day. That day when the clouds wept sadness for our loss. I remember he gripped our hands, my little sister's and mine, with such strength that I was more afraid of his intentions than of his strength. I was very young when I attended our mother's funeral, murdered for protecting the damned and despicable humans.

Still, I looked at my mother's grave and couldn't bear not feeling her warmth; I couldn't stop crying that day. Although my father's pain seemed contained, his power felt unstable. And meanwhile, as we kept looking at mom's grave under the storm, my sister was distracted, crying because she wanted to go home, breaking this moment as if it were a joke, and I concluded… that perhaps she was too young to understand, even though she is of a race that doesn't count the years.

Nothing will change that in my being was etched with blood and hatred, a trauma I will never forget. With my own hands, I will hang their heads high on a building. And thus spread such violence that can only be experienced once in a lifetime. When that day comes… I will bring hell upon earth.

"Power in this world where I was born is one of the most revealing topics, because at the exact moment you are born, destiny attributes to you a specific gift, and if you happen to be born into the lower class, you will still have plenty of work to do. In my case, it's very different. I was born as a bastard son and of impure blood."

Centuries later…

[Narrator's Perspective]

A new day marks the beginning of what could represent a new sense of life, a light for some… that for others would be the birth of the son of darkness.

We approach what is a beautiful house, set in a vast paradise of flowers and green pastures, like a brown spot in a colorful painting, where a rather peculiar family lived.

María was lying on the bed, and Pedro appears with food for her.

"How is our daughter?" asked Pedro.

"It's a boy, Pedro!" exclaimed María.

"Seriously, you don't think that was what I really wanted, do you?"

"If you want to spend time with your children, start by getting rid of your habit of wanting to train them to exhaustion. Look at how Nazael and Sacha turned out, they just go around fighting and trying every spell that crosses their minds."

"What? I have nothing to do with it, I'm too strong besides being a father, they have it built-in, so don't blame me. I just teach them to control their strength," said Pedro.

"Stop bragging about your strength, their great talents with magic come from their biological mother. And I hope you've already told your children that we're expecting a child together, right?"

"Hehe… about that…"

"But Pedro!" said María surprised.

"It's just that it's kind of difficult, I know my children well enough. With Sacha, there's practically no problem, but what worries me is how Nazael would take it. He tries, but I think he never really took it well that I was with you after his mother's death."

"You're the strangest father I've ever seen, darling. He's your son, go talk to him, he'll understand."

"Do I have to do it right now?"

"There's only one month left until the birth of our son, Pedro. So yes, do it now!"

"How about tomorrow?"

Immediately, María gave him a piercing look that warned him he had to do it now or she would probably kill him.

But, by chance, Sacha was already behind the door listening to her father and stepmother's conversation. And she slowly walked away until she reached the living room.

"I have to tell my brother," thought Sacha.

The night came, and while they were eating, María placed the plate of exquisite chicken on the table and went to fetch the plate of fried fish she had forgotten in the kitchen. At that moment, Nazael, Sacha, and Pedro were at the table, eating. Suddenly, Pedro began:

"My children! I have very good news for you: you will have a new little brother."

Upon hearing the news, none of the children reacted, nor did they raise their heads to look at their father. Pedro had to reaffirm that María and he would have a child together.

"We already heard you, dad," said Nazael.

"And aren't you happy to have a new brother?"

"I already knew, it was obvious with that belly."

Pedro laughed and said, "You really look a lot like your mother!"

After Pedro made that comment, the air suddenly became tense with a silence that made everything worse. Nazael left the dining chair and said:

"I'm not hungry anymore, good night!" and he teleported away.

"Brother! Brother!" shouted Sacha, but he didn't listen.

María, who had just arrived, looked at Pedro and started to mock him, laughing in the background:

"Sometimes I wonder how a man as clueless as you could become the protector of the earth. That surprises me!"

Sacha heard that and started laughing, and directly asked her father if they had already thought of a name for the child. María and Pedro looked at each other and wondered, "A name?"

"It's true, Pedro, what name shall we give the child?"

"What? You hadn't thought about it before!"

"Well, since you're his father, he'll have your name, right? Think of something for your life, you idiot!"

"Apparently, both of you are clueless," Sacha concluded and teleported to the top of the hill where the moon shines brightest at night.

At the edge where the mountain ends, Nazael is sitting looking at the moon, lost in his thoughts. Then, Sacha approaches him with slow steps, and Nazael asks her just seconds after she stood by his side, looking at the purple sky with blue tones and all the stars shining like never before.

"How did you know I was here?" asked Nazael.

"It's not very hard to find you when you emanate so much Ether," replied Sacha.

"This forest is dangerous, go back home!"

"Look, you idiot!"

"What? I don't see anything."

"Exactly, nothing. You're scaring them all. And with you by my side, nothing can happen to me, because I know that, no matter what, you'll protect me. Right, little brother?" she said, giving him a huge hug from behind.

"Ow! But Sacha, be more careful, we're on a cliff! And besides, I don't have to protect you, you show signs of being a prodigy. It was you who taught me to teleport, and the worst part is that you're still a kid."

Sacha, very happy, slaps him on the back with her eyes closed, saying:

"Oh, please, don't talk bullshit!" but she didn't realize that she pushed him towards the cliff.

As Nazael fell, he shouted angrily:

"Sachaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

"Oops! He seems angry… Brother, are you angry?" shouted Sacha.

"You'll see," said Nazael. "Teleport me now, you spoiled brat, don't play your awful jokes on me now!"

"What? Can't you do it?"

"Get me out of here, I'm going to die if you don't!"

Immediately, almost upon hitting the ground, he starts screaming, and that's when Sacha acts and, with just a snap of her fingers, Nazael appears in front of her, but upside down. Nazael had his eyes closed, didn't even notice, and kept screaming.

"You always act like the boss of bosses, and now you look like a damsel," said Sacha laughing.

"Huh?" When Nazael realized there was no more danger, he got even angrier and continued:

"You'll see who's the damsel, daughter of evil."

Sacha let him fall on his head and continued laughing. Instantly, Nazael puts her in a headlock and starts hitting her head, and they kept fighting for hours and hours until they got tired, and just lay down looking at the stars.

"Hey!" said Sacha.

"What?" replied Nazael.

"Do you think one of those stars could be mom, like the stories say?"

"…Uh, probably, if the stories are true, she would be watching and protecting us from the sky."

"I know very well that you're not happy with our new mother."

"She's not our mother."

"But…"

"She's not, period."

"Don't be selfish, Nazael. She was the only one who could ease our father's pain and insatiable thirst for revenge. Now he can smile without it seeming fake, all thanks to her. You should give her a chance if…"

"You can leave if that's what you want to talk about all night."

"You're naive, but anyway, it's getting late and I'm dead tired."

She walked away three steps and remembered something else she wanted to say:

"It will be a boy, in case you didn't know, and I'll train him. And surely he will have the kindness and affection that María has, and he won't turn out to be a fool, empty-headed like you."

"What did you say?" asked Nazael, extremely angry, so much that the entire forest felt his imposing Ether.

"Nothing. I'm just impatient," she says jumping and hopping, then says goodbye and immediately teleports away.

After she left, Nazael affirms that he doesn't have to talk about anything with a treacherous coward who abandoned everything, and least of all does he want to see a bastard of human blood in his family.

"Those damned humans, I hate them!" exclaimed Nazael, and he put so much force into his anger that he generated high winds that strongly moved the trees within a distance of approximately 3 kilometers.
