Nightfall, in Midtown Manhattan, Cassandra is sharpening her arrow tips while Maya is singing on the guitar.
Maya: (singing) It's not your eyes. It's not what you say. It's not your laughter that gives you away. You're just lonely. You've been lonely too long. Oh, you're acting this in disguise. All your perfect delivered lines. They don't fool me. You've been lonely for too long.
Sarah approaches Cassandra.
Sarah: If you're still going to Dallas, count me in. We both have someone we care about in that sinkhole.
Cassandra smiles while outside Midtown Manhattan, Kyle, Jake, Shawn, who is carrying the unconscious Barnes and James are seen walking through the wasteland, before walking back to the settlement to rest. The Settlement Leader approaches Kyle's group.
Settlement Leader: You boys from Dallas?
Kyle: Yeah....anyone else make it back?
Settlement Leader: Afraid not, son...you're the first....
Jake: What about Woody? He was outside the sinking.
Settlement Leader: Haven't seen or heard from him either.
Kyle: shit....if it's alright with you, can we rest here? We'll need one of your trucks to get back home tomorrow.
Settlement Leader: Sure thing...whatever you guys need...
Kyle: Also, can we have this man guarded? He's dangerous...very dangerous.
Settlement Leader: even with one arm....
Kyle: even with one arm....
Later that night, Shawn, James, Jake and Kyle are seen resting near a campfire while Barnes is seen handcuffed to a pole. Kyle has nightmares of Walters', Cameron's and Nathans' deaths, before waking up.
Barnes: Bad dreams? I remember when I used to have them...I got used to them...Rick had them more than I did....when he was a kid, he would crawl into bed with me....scared of the monster in the closet...or under the bed.
Kyle: Where have you been since we took out Kronos?
Barnes: Ashdown.
Kyle: You were in Ashdown? So then what happened, where did those things come from?
Barnes: Who the hell knows, man? God? Maybe, he's up there gettin sick of humanity fucking the world up more than it already is...so he created a new breed of.....beings.....there's a facility a few miles from Midtown Manhattan....north...a year after you took us out, these doctors came in the middle of the night and snagged us...couldn't see where I was...but I was taken somewhere bad...only good thing about it was this arm...I can remember the logo if I saw it....he still alive? Nathan?
Kyle looks down.
Barnes: No....He's dead. Figured as much....his sisters still alive?
Kyle: Yeah...both of them.
Barnes: What about that old man? The one eyed one?
Kyle: What is this? You think that just because you helped us get out of that sinkhole and that monster, you and I are going to shake hands and put our past behind us? Fuck you.
Barnes: Hey, just trying to hold a conversation....there's a storm coming soon, Kyle...those creatures...those "Condemned"....they'll keep coming...people like you and me....we don't live happy lives...we don't get to settle down with wife...and kids...friends and family...those days are over....these are the days of Armageddon, son.
A short pause.
Barnes: You going to miss Walter?
Kyle: He was my friend....something you're not.
Barnes: And the boy?
Kyle: I promised him I'd get him home and I failed....what about you? You miss Ryder?
Barnes: More or less...was a good boss...and friend...I miss Catherine more...miss Brock..
Kyle: What about Rick?
Barnes sighs.
Barnes: My little brother was an idiot...but at the end of the day, your family's all you got.
In Midtown Manhattan, small quakes and cracks underneath the streets begin to emerge as pedestrians and civilians notice. Suddenly, as many civilians are seen walking in the street, a building crumbles and collapses, before many Condemned Drones and Sergeants emerge, opening fire onto the pedestrians. The Midtown Manhattan Fighters engage the Condemned forces in a gunfight, but casualties rise, mostly on Midtown Manhattan's side. Caleb is shouting out orders to the Midtown Manhattan fighters, before he and Mitchell prepare a firing line.
Caleb: Men! You have been trained to defend Midtown Manhattan. These things may be monsters, but they still bleed and if it bleeds, it dies!
The Midtown Manhattan firing squad opens fire, killing many Condemned. However, Brute Condemned with giant hammers enter the battle, swatting away and killing most of the Midtown Manhattan fighters.
Mitchell: Shit...
Ashley enters the battle, before Caleb turns and notices her.
Caleb: Ashley! Where's your sister?
Ashley: I don't know!
Condemned with blades attempt to attack, killing a few Midtown Manhattan fighters, but are repelled by Ashley, Caleb and Mitchell. A Condemned drone attempts to sneak up on Caleb, but Ashley notices this and stabs the Condemned dead with her knife.
Caleb: Thanks for that....
During the siege, many Midtown Manhattan civilians or fighters are killed by Condemned soldiers. Sarah and Cassandra are seen running through the burning city of Midtown Manhattan, attempting to reach the Chrysler Tower. In the Chrysler Tower, Alexandria walks out to the roof and looks down in a saddened and angered look at the burning city of Midtown Manhattan along with the roars of the Condemned and screams of civilians. In the midst of the fight, the Condemned Queen, who is wearing a mask, is walking towards the tower with Scorcher.
Condemned Queen: (in Condemned language) Scorcher, sweep most of the city. We're not here to destroy it. Remember what we're here for...
Scorcher: (in Condemned language) To wound them...
Ashley moves through the city and eventually finds a Condemned drone cornering Olivia, who begs for her life.
Olivia: No! No! Please! Don't! Please!
The Condemned drone shoots Olivia, before Ashley moves in and shoots the Condemned dead. Ashley looks down at the dying Olivia and takes her hand.
Olivia: Help me....help me...
Ashley gives a saddening look, before she mercifully shoots Olivia in the head. Meanwhile, in the Chrysler Tower, the Condemned Queen, Scorcher and four other Condemned move into the building and quickly kill the Midtown Manhattan guards defending the tower. The Condemned Soldiers sweep the building, before searching the rooms. In her room, Maya is hiding in a closet with her pistol armed. A Condemned search her room at first to find nothing, but suddenly, Maya sneezes, giving away her position. The Condemned prepares to shoot at the closet, but Maya opens fire first, hitting the Condemned in the head. Maya cautiously steps out of the closet and approaches the dead Condemned, before suddenly, a Condemned with a machete sneaks up behind Maya, who turns and is backhanded down. The Condemned with the machete prepares to kill Maya, before he is suddenly shot in the head by Sarah. Cassandra appears armed with her bow and arrow.
Sarah: Maya!
Maya stands up as Cassandra hugs Maya.
Cassandra: Are you alright? Where's Mom?
Maya: She's on the top floor, but what the hell's happening?!
Sarah: It's those monsters again!
Cassandra: Maya, you stay here and hide, okay? I'll go help Mom.
Maya: but Cassandra, I can help-
Cassandra: Maya, no! I need you here safe in case something happens, okay?!
A short pause, before Maya nods.
Cassandra: Okay....
Cassandra kisses Maya's cheek.
Cassandra: I'll come back for you. I promise.
Sarah and Cassandra leave while in the upper floor, Alexandria, dressed in Zeus Corps armor, is praying to her alter.
Alexandria: Oh, father, all merciful lord of heaven, earth and the stars. I pray that you spare my city, my children and-
The Condemned Queen appears.
Condemned Queen: I think it's too late to pray, my child.
Alexandria sighs and opens her eyes, before turning.
Alexandria: The devil's scent is with you...
Alexandria turns and reveals Daniel's rifle in her hand, before aiming it at the Condemned Queen, who laughs.
Condemned Queen laughs.
Condemned Queen: You fucking pathetic creatures and your guns....
Alexandria: Still strong enough to kill you.
Condemned Queen: I've survived worse...
Alexandria: Who are you and what do you want?
Condemned Queen: Who I am is no concern of yours...and what I want....won't matter to you....
Alexandria opens fire at the Condemned Queen as the rounds bounce off her impervious armor. The Condemned Queen swipes the rifle away as Alexandria pulls out her machete.
Condemned Queen laughs.
Condemned Queen: Come on.
Alexandria advances at the Condemned Queen, who maneuvers and knocks down Alexandria. After a few tense moments, Alexandria stands up and swings at the Condemned Queen, who dodges and grabs the tip of the blade, before throwing Alexandria into the wall. The Condemned Queen bleeds red, before she walks up to Alexandria, who is coughing up blood and grabs her by the hair. Dragging her, the Condemned Queen throws Alexandria into the glass as she looks down into the city.
Condemned Queen: Look at them...they will burn...along with you....
In the city, Caleb, Ashley and Mitchell continue to hold off the Condemned forces barely while many Midtown Manhattan fighters are killed.
Condemned Queen: Do you feel the guilt yet? Knowing that their blood is on your hands...I know that pain...I'm just like you.
Alexandria: I'm nothing like you!
Alexandria head butts the Condemned Queen, before Alexandria grabs the machete and swings it against the Condemned Queens' armor, eventually breaking the blade apart.
Condemned Queen: You cannot win....
Alexandria attempts to punch the Condemned Queen, who grabs her punch and bends her hand backwards, forcing her to kneel in agony. The Condemned Queen then backhands Alexandria, before grabbing her by the back of the head and projecting a blade. Before the Queen can execute Alexandria, Cassandra and Sarah burst in.
Cassandra: Stop!
Sarah and Cassandra aim their weapons at the Condemned Queen.
Sarah: Let her go now!
After a few tense moments, Scorcher sneaks up and backhands Sarah into the wall, before punching Cassandra down. Scorcher steps onto Cassandra's' back, pinning her down.
Condemned Queen: How sweet.....little girls with guns...
Alexandria and Cassandra make eye contact, before the Condemned Queen notices this.
Condemned Queen: This is your kid, isn't it?
The Condemned Queen laughs.
Condemned Queen: Yes, it is....she's strong...
The Condemned Queen turns to Scorcher.
Condemned Queen: Scorcher....kill her.
Scorcher prepares to execute Cassandra until Alexandria speaks.
Alexandria: No! No! Stop! Stop! Please! Don't hurt her....don't hurt my little girl....there's need to kill her.
A short tense moment, before Sarah recovers and reaches for her pistol.
Condemned Queen: You're right....let her suffer a little more.
The Condemned Queen suddenly stabs Alexandria through the Zeus Corps armor in the lower abdomen while Cassandra is screaming. Sarah grabs her pistol and shoots at Scorcher, grazing him in the head. Caleb, Ashley and Mitchell arrive and open fire, before Scorcher and the Condemned Queen flee and jump off the Chrysler Tower onto the back of a giant flying Queen Wasp like Creature. The attack ceases as the Condemned retreat with many Midtown Manhattan pedestrians and fighters' injured or dead. Cassandra tends to her bleeding out mother as Maya arrives.
Cassandra: Mom! Mom! Stay with me! Stay with me! You're-you're going to be okay! Mom! Mom! Fuck! Fuck! Caleb! Guys! we have to do something! Help!
Sarah, Ashley, Caleb and Mitchell give saddened looks to each other as they know Alexandria will die. Maya walks over and kneels as she comforts her dying mother.
Alexandria: My girls....my little girls...
Maya: Mama.....
Maya cries as Cassandra sheds tears and cradles her mother.
Cassandra: Mom...I'm sorry....I'm so sorry for what I said..
Alexandria: None of that...matters now...you...you have to be strong....you...you are going to live...I'm proud of you....I'm-
Alexandria dies as Cassandra and Maya grieve.
Cassandra: Mom...
