Eleanor slept for more than thirty hours before waking. She was so utterly exhausted, both mentally and physically, that in her deep sleep her mind failed to register the passage of time. It felt to her as though she had slept for only a couple of hours at most. Maíra was cultivating not far away, and the moment she sensed movement beside her, she looked over at her friend and smiled.
"Good evening, sleeping beauty," she said playfully.
It took Eleanor a few seconds to return fully to reality. She remembered where she was and who was speaking.
"Good evening," she replied casually. In her defence, she had entered the temple in the afternoon. After a few hours of sleep, it should indeed have been evening.
"You must have suffered a lot. Your sleep was so deep that I had to check your breathing to make sure you hadn't died. I've never seen anyone sleep for an entire day straight," Maíra said.
