"I believe you're running low on stamina now, Edward. How much longer can you really hold out against me?" Sengoku glared at Whitebeard coldly, his tone devoid of mercy.
Whitebeard had previously exerted himself heavily in slaying Deros, the Captain of the CPO's elite assassination unit. That high-intensity battle consumed not just his physical strength, but also his Haki reserves. And now, after this prolonged confrontation in the Valley of the Gods, even a monstrous figure like Whitebeard was beginning to show signs of fatigue.
Sengoku, a tactical mind and master of both Armament and Observation Haki, could read his opponent clearly. He knew this was the moment Whitebeard's defenses might falter.
But Whitebeard's response was as calm and fearless as ever. "It's more than enough to crush you, Sengoku."
"Then let me see if you still have that courage — to the bitter end!" Sengoku snarled and launched himself forward, closing the distance between them in an instant.
The two legends clashed again with terrifying force, creating another cataclysmic shockwave that ripped through the battlefield.
Meanwhile —
"Rocks... is he dead?"
Ayr stood atop his fully-formed Susanoo, his dark cloak fluttering in the fierce winds sweeping across the Valley of the Gods. His ethereal chakra armor glowed with fiery blue and black tones. From this vantage, his Rinnegan-enhanced perception allowed him to sense the fluctuations in battle and voices far beyond ordinary range.
Even though the heart of the battlefield was distant, Ayr could still hear the ecstatic cries of the Marines scattered across the Valley. Their roars and cheers signaled a single truth.
"Captain Rocks has fallen…"
"Hahaha! Your captain's dead, Ayr!" Kong bellowed triumphantly, standing on the cracked battlefield with blood running down his arm, though his will remained unshaken.
The battle had raged for a long time. But now, with Rocks defeated — though not by Marine hands — it was a huge psychological and strategic victory for the World Government. They had lost many, but the greatest threat to world order was finally vanquished.
"Then it looks like our fight has reached its final act," Ayr said coolly, his voice calm but tinged with quiet intensity as his Rinnegan shimmered.
While battling Kong, Ayr had felt the malevolent intentions of others lurking at the edges of the battlefield. With Observation Haki sharpened through countless battles, he had already sensed the murderous auras of Silver Axe, Ochoku, and John — his fellow former comrades now eyeing him as prey.
They were lying in wait, like vultures circling a wounded lion.
If he didn't end this fight soon, the combined betrayal of those three might prove fatal, especially in his current state.
In ordinary times, Ayr wouldn't have viewed them as real threats. But he had used up a considerable amount of both physical energy and Haki reserves during this drawn-out battle — even his full-body Susanoo, which he sustained through the fusion of chakra and Haki, was draining him rapidly.
"Over? You think so?" Kong grinned fiercely. "You're bluffing, Ayr. You've been burning through stamina like a madman! That Susanoo must be bleeding you dry!"
Kong wasn't wrong.
He had witnessed the might of the Susanoo firsthand — the towering warrior of chakra wielding twin katana, its presence enough to suppress even veteran admirals. But he also knew what such power cost. Maintaining such a construct without pause was a tremendous burden.
To Kong, Ayr had to be near the brink.
He had already bet everything on outlasting Ayr, believing that the moment the younger man faltered, he would strike a decisive blow.
"And you think you're any better?" Ayr replied with a half-smile.
Yes — he had consumed vast energy. But what others didn't realize was that Ayr's Sage Body was fully matured, a synthesis of Hashirama's regenerative might and the Uzumaki bloodline's endurance. Unlike most pirates, Ayr could regenerate stamina at an accelerated rate even mid-battle, and fragments of Haki were already reforming inside his core.
Kong had endured longer than expected — a testament to his own monstrous vitality — but he was now gasping beneath the weight of his own limit.
"Let's settle this," Kong roared, launching toward Ayr with thunderous force, fists infused with Armament Haki.
Ayr narrowed his eyes. "Then I'll end this… now."
A glint of dark steel flickered in Susanoo's twin katana. Within his core, Ayr drew upon the partially replenished pool of Conqueror's Haki, mixing it with blackened Busoshoku and channeling it into Susanoo's blades.
"Dual Blade Style: World Severance Slash!"
The dual swords — now wrapped in a dark, crackling aura of advanced Conqueror's Haki — surged with power. Both blades were cloaked in a haunting, ink-black sheen, emitting an oppressive pressure that caused even seasoned pirates to falter from afar.
"H-Haki?! Not possible!" Kong's pupils shrank. "Wasn't his Haki almost gone?! How is it returning?!"
Indeed, Haki recovered faster than physical stamina in rare cases, especially for those with monstrous willpower. But to channel such vast quantities into a giant avatar's blades — that was unheard of.
"Shuhhhh!!!"
With a sweeping motion, Susanoo unleashed its blades toward Kong. The force behind the swing tore the very air apart. As if a mountain had been uprooted and thrown, the momentum behind the attack was colossal.
"BOOM!!!"
A rupture echoed across the entire Valley of the Gods — the clash split the battlefield apart.
A gigantic rift opened in the earth. Ayr's strike had cleaved straight through the terrain and into the sea below, triggering a surge of seawater from the ocean floor.
"CRAAAASH!!!"
The Valley trembled. The quake-like impact spread for miles. The earth howled as it cracked, churned, and collapsed under the pressure of the titanic blow.
The sea boiled and surged into the rift.
Susanoo stood tall as water exploded upward around it like geysers.
"Wha—!? He split the Valley of the Gods again?!"
"That sword strike — it's monstrous!"
Marines all across the battlefield froze in stunned disbelief. Even Vice Admirals stared wide-eyed.
"He… he really split the land. That Susanoo… is it even human power?!"
"Wait!! Where is Admiral Kong?!"
"Admiral Kong!!!"
Panic set in.
In the moments after Ayr's attack, Kong had vanished.
"No… don't tell me… was he sent into the sea?!"
"If Admiral Kong got hit full force — even if he isn't a Devil Fruit user — he could still drown!"
The realization dawned like thunder.
Kong, Admiral of the World Government, was now missing — possibly unconscious and sinking in the abyss of the sea below the valley.
Dozens of Marines immediately rushed toward the edge of the rift where seawater now gushed violently.
"Dive! Search for the Admiral! Now!!"
The tides had turned once more, and chaos reigned in the Valley of the Gods.
