---

Ayr's eyes scanned the panel.

His Sage Body progress had reached an astonishing 3920 points—so close to evolving.

A new battle could be the key to pushing him past the threshold to 4000, unlocking its full potential.

"Maybe…" he muttered to himself.

Would this mission in Mariejois bring him a worthy opponent?

Someone strong enough to push his limits and trigger his breakthrough?

Shaking off the thought, Ayr closed the panel and resumed his primary task—finding the slave city.

---

Searching for the Slave City

Mariejois was vast beyond comprehension.

Most of it was a glittering paradise of wealth, where extravagant buildings lined the streets, draped in gold and silk, basking in an arrogant display of luxury.

But there were also desolate, abandoned areas.

It made sense—

Even at the peak of the Red Line, Mariejois had limits to its expansion.

And the Celestial Dragons, despite their god-complex, were not infinite in number.

There was no reason to construct endless buildings when only a select few lived here.

Ayr suppressed his presence, skillfully avoiding patrolling guards as he moved through the Holy Land.

However, despite searching almost the entire city, he found nothing.

No signs of a slave city.

His brow furrowed.

"If I were a Celestial Dragon, would I really keep slaves in the middle of my paradise?" he mused.

His answer came instantly—

No.

Slaves weren't people to the Celestial Dragons.

They were livestock. Property. Disposable tools.

No way would they be housed among the nobles.

"They must be in the desolate outskirts."

With that realization, Ayr changed course, heading toward the most barren parts of Mariejois.

---

Discovery of the Slave City

Finally, in a remote sector, far from the shining towers, Ayr spotted it—

A grand yet aged fortress, standing alone on an uneven, cracked landscape.

Bathed in moonlight, he could make out the bold characters inscribed above the entrance:

"SLAVE CITY"

His lips curled into a smirk.

"Found you."

But before he could advance—

"Who goes there?!"

A group of armed guards emerged, weapons drawn, eyes filled with suspicion.

One of them stepped forward, glaring at Ayr.

"You… you're not wearing the Celestial Dragons' insignia."

Another scoffed.

"Intruder? Hah! Do you even know where you are?"

"No one has ever dared set foot in Mariejois uninvited."

"You've got a death wish!"

The guards surrounded Ayr, their killing intent palpable.

Ayr remained unmoved.

Then—

SHING!

A single flash of steel—so fast, so merciless.

SPLURT!

The guards' heads soared into the air, their bodies spurting blood before collapsing lifelessly to the ground.

Their deaths were instantaneous.

None of them even realized how they died.

Their last sights were of their own bodies crumbling into pools of crimson.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Their heads hit the ground one by one.

Ayr stepped forward, retrieving a keyring from one of the corpses—

The keys to the slave cells.

Then, gripping his blade—

"SHING!"

With a single mighty slash, the stone gate of Slave City split in half, collapsing with a thunderous boom.

---

Freedom or Vengeance?

As Ayr stepped inside, the stench of suffering filled his nostrils.

The prison was pitch black, silent except for the sound of dripping water and the occasional pained groan.

Ayr's footsteps echoed, alerting the imprisoned slaves to his presence.

Slowly, weak, battered faces emerged from the darkness—

Eyes hollow from years of torment stared at him in disbelief.

Then, a hesitant voice whispered:

"...You're… here to release us?"

Ayr met their eyes, his voice calm yet firm:

"Yes."

For a second, there was only silence.

Then—

A deafening roar of disbelief and emotion erupted.

Cries of joy, rage, hope, and despair filled the prison as chains rattled, fists clenched, and a long-buried fire reignited in their hearts.

Ayr unlocked the first cell, then tossed the keyring to a group of prisoners.

"Open the others."

They obeyed instantly.

Within minutes, tens of thousands of slaves poured out of their cells—every single one of them freed.

But Ayr wasn't done.

He sheathed his sword, turning toward the massive crowd.

"You've been imprisoned here," he said, voice carrying through the vast chamber, "waiting to die. But today, you are free."

The slaves shivered at his words.

"But tell me—do you simply want to run? Or do you want revenge?"

His words struck like lightning.

The crowd fell silent.

Then—

Something inside them snapped.

The years of abuse, humiliation, and suffering came flooding back.

They remembered the whippings, the torture, the executions of their loved ones.

They remembered everything.

And their rage boiled over.

"DESTROY! DESTROY THIS CURSED CITY!"

Ayr grinned.

That was the answer he wanted.

---

The Fall of Mariejois

Like a wave of vengeance, the horde of freed slaves stormed into Mariejois, tearing through the streets of gold and marble.

They razed buildings, torched mansions, and massacred Celestial Dragons in waves of blood and fire.

Mariejois—the symbol of oppression—was reduced to a battlefield of screams and flames.

Thick, black smoke engulfed the sky, staining the Holy Land in darkness.

The Celestial Dragons, once untouchable "gods", were now nothing more than prey.

Ayr watched from the shadows, satisfied.

"Now," he whispered, disappearing into the chaos, "time to find the Eternal Pose to God Valley."
