Sera's Pov
The ache wouldn't stop.
It throbbed in maddening intervals—one moment behind my temple, the next sinking hot claws into my right eye. If I didn't know better, I'd think something was trying to crawl its way out from behind my eyeball.
It came and went all day, these little flashes of pain that made me want to bash my head into the nearest wall. I was honestly glad Lucian had insisted I take the day off training. If he hadn't, there was a very real chance I would've caved to temptation and gouged out my own eye just to make it stop.
That wouldn't solve the headaches, though.
I sighed and let my forehead rest against the cool window in Lucian's room. The moon was low tonight, a delicate crescent like it couldn't bear to show its full face. Same, moon. Same.
