Chapter 194 - Blade!

Machia's roar turned the sky inside out. Dirt exploded. Sato flew back ten feet, skidded. Vines caught him.

More movement. Ms. Joke tackled someone out of a burning hallway. Cementoss created a bunker on the right side, but didn't last long.

"Get her out!" one clone snapped, dragging a student to his feet.

"Which one is the real you?" Jiro yelled, charging past another Ryuu.

"Figure it out after we win!"

Toga created a wall of ice as Machia lunged. It cracked, but gave them time. Momo shoved the launcher into position.

"Five seconds!"

"Then hold him!" Fat Gum roared, leaping forward. He hit Machia dead-center. Didn't stop him, but he absorbed just enough to stick him for a second.

Another Ryuu landed beside Deku. "Go up. Now!"

Deku jumped, blackwhip flinging him into the air. Machia looked up. One Ryuu went low, slammed the bat into his knee. Another cracked the same spot again. Another climbed his back, bat raised high.

Machia grabbed that one, crushed him.

Didn't matter.

Momo snapped the last latch into place, eyes locking with one of the Ryuu copies. "It is ready. But we cannot pierce the skin. We have to get it in his mouth."

Ryuu's clones spread out, circling. "Got it. Listen up, you beautiful idiots, this is how we are doing it!"

More copies started tightening the circle. "We drop him, we open that ugly-ass maw, and Creati drops the package down his throat. That means no more tickling. We hit him like he insulted your mom and stole your dog!"

Fat Gum yelled, "You heard him! Full press!"

"Gevaudan, Red Riot, with me," another Ryuu clone barked. "Legs!"

"Copy," Gevaudan snapped. His claws dug into the ground as he lunged.

"Keep Geten and Dabi off our ass!" one clone pointed toward the edge.

Ryuu looked at Best Jeanist and Edgeshot. They were the ones running this shitshow after all. He couldn't steal their thunder.

Jeanist nodded. "We will hold them."

Edgeshot vanished before anyone could reply.

Ryuu turned toward the others already moving. "Vine, Real Steel, Pinky, right leg, slow it down. Mudman, shift the incline. I want his foot turned by the time they hit it. Cementoss, cut off his left. Orca, when he falls, hit his jaw. Don't stop."

The ones who needed to hear it already broke formation. Sato and Ojiro bolted first. Mina peeled off behind them, acid trailing fast. Mudman hit ground, arms wide. The hill buckled like wet cardboard under Gigantomachia's weight. The bastard stumbled a little.

Ryuu's eyes flicked across the field.

"Get the launcher ready. Jiro, don't let him close again."

"Copy," Jiro barked back, already shifting toward the edge, boots grinding against broken tile.

Up top, Geten's ice whipped toward them again. A slab veered left, angled to hit the backup group. It never reached. Jeanist's threads snatched it mid-air, redirected it into Compress, who flipped mid-dodge and vanished with a puff.

"Move in," Ryuu snapped. "Creati, when the mouth opens, you drop it."

Momo nodded without looking up. Her hands were already working fast.

Machia slammed another foot forward, dragging trees and concrete with him. The copies scattered. One got clipped by a wild swing and flung into a crumbling fence. Another launched straight at the knee, bounced off like a toy.

Sero threw the first strip, ripped through the air and smacked against Gigantomachia's ankle. The hair worked instantly. Rows of Mineta's sticky crap, dragging across the forest floor and yanking at whatever they touched.

"Stick it, stick it, YES!" Mineta yelled, already prepping another batch.

"Back up!" Sero barked, pulling a strip taut as the second wrapped around the beast's shin. The foot locked in place just in time for the next two bands to slap across the opposite leg.

Machia's gait slowed.

The monster stumbled, knee cracking as he tried to drag his leg forward, but the cellaphones held. His weight tilted, upper body pulling ahead of lower.

"Leg's stalling, GO!" Red Riot sprinted in first, ducked under a swing of debris and jammed himself against the thigh, hands braced.

Gevaudan slammed next to him, claws dug deep into flesh, growling through his teeth. "Get it lower!"

Vine's threads wound around the calf. Cementoss dropped another wall behind the heel, boxed it in. Mina flung acid across the branches.

Machia jerked, bark snapped overhead. The sticky ropes creaked. His arms swung wide, clearing air.

"KEEP HIM TANGLED!" one Ryuu roared, bat already swinging for the joint between shin and foot.

A copy flew back with a punch to the ribs, broke through three branches and melted on impact. Another took his place, vaulting off Red Riot's back, bat overhead.

The crack echoed. Gigantomachia bent lower.

Gran Torino zipped overhead, Deku a green streak behind him. They hit the air just above Machia's shoulder, closing fast toward the back of his head.

"Bring the beast down!" Gran Torino barked.

Machia's arm twitched up to swat them. He was slow, and they weren't aiming to kill. Just bring him to his knees.

Kaminari sent another burst through the grounding line. Blackwhip snapped forward. Deku yanked hard, redirected mid-air, shot toward the base of the skull. He swung, full-speed, fist colliding right behind the ear. Gran Torino followed with a boot to the mirroring spot.

Machia's head jolted forward.

"Left side, now!" one of the Ryuu copies shouted. He slammed his bat into the other leg, just under the joint. "He is tipping!"

Gevaudan lunged, claws dragging, mouth clenched shut. Red Riot shoved with both hands, shoulders shaking under pressure.

Cementoss threw a block into the ankle. Mina's acid hissed underfoot.

"Down, dammit!" another Ryuu roared, sprinting in and slamming the bat straight into the tendon above the heel.

Sato barreled into the thigh with a shoulder-check. Sero threw three more bands. They slapped and held.

Then, the bastard dropped.

He stumbled, one leg folded wrong, his weight buckled forward, hand swinging out to catch balance. It shattered a concrete barricade and still didn't stop him. His chin clipped a tree.

"Deku!" one clone barked.

"I am here!" Deku shot back, whipping forward again. Blackwhip snapped twice, he swung around the falling giant's shoulder, got an angle above the nose. A clone mirrored him from the left, bat raised.

Machia crashed into the trees.

Everything shook.

Branches exploded outward, dirt kicked sky-high, and debris rained. Dust swallowed the center mass.

Jiro skidded forward, jacks dragging. "Open the mouth!"

"Cover her!" someone snapped.

The beast groaned again, head shifting. Machia wasn't down for long.

Two clones leapt in, one to the jaw, other to the upper lip. One swung upward, trying to jam the mouth open.

"His teeth-!"

"Break em!" Red Riot shouted.

Another clone went low and swung the bat full-force into Machia's bottom row.

Crack.

Momo was already mid-run. The launcher weighed heavy in her hands, support wires dragging behind her like roots. Shoji flanked her left, Vine on right.

"Give her a path!" a clone yelled.

Suneater dropped down from a ruined ledge, blocking a returning wave of ice from Geten. Tentacles snapped up, tangled the frost and hurled it back.

Mt. Lady, bloodied, limping, threw herself across the clearing again. One punch into Machia's temple. The head tilted. Clones piled in, using the pause to jam bat handles and rubble into the gap between teeth.

Machia roared. Half-formed. Half-choked.

Toga flew in from the side, cold steam blasting under her heels. A flaming sweep carved across Machia's shoulder, blinding from the side. It wasn't about damage. Just distraction.

"Do it now!" one of the Ryuu clones screamed.

"He is off balance! Keep pushing! This is it!"

Jiro slammed her jacks into speakers and sent another shock through Machia's head. The jaw dropped, barely.

That was enough.

Momo shoved the launcher forward. "NOW!"

Shoji braced her side. Vine looped around her waist. The launcher fired. The capsule soared forward, caught the gap, snapped in-

RAAGHHHH!

Machia's howl ripped the whole damn hill in half. Trees didn't just fall, they uprooted and flew. Dirt and splinters slapped into faces. Clones flung like discarded wrappers. Izuku and Gran Torino dropped, clutching their heads like their skulls would split.

The capsule disintegrated mid-air, vaporized by the shockwave of Machia's roar, pieces spinning like ash.

For a heartbeat, no one moved.

Just ringing ears. Just ruin.

Momo's shoulders slumped. Her hands went slack, fingers curling like she forgot how to hold anything. "That was it…" she whispered.

The Ryuu clone next to her didn't speak. He just stared ahead, breath slow, lip bloodied.

Gevaudan snarled low. "He is still standing."

"The capsule is gone," Jiro said, voice tight, almost choked. "We failed."

"No," Deku muttered, more to himself than anyone. "No, there has to be-"

"You feel that?" Sero interrupted, blinking through the dust.

"Feel what?"

"...Like something is off."

Spinner narrowed his eyes. "Why the hell is that damn copy still grinning like an idiot?"

That was when they noticed.

One Ryuu clone, battered, face bruised, shoulder dislocated, stood up straighter than he had any right to. And he was smiling. Wide. Almost proud.

Dabi stepped forward, peering at him like dissecting a corpse. "This the part where you all give up? Cute. And you go mad."

"Fuck," someone hissed near the back.

The clone didn't flinch.

Didn't even blink.

Just smiled harder.

"You see," he said, spitting blood. "The plan was never for us to shoot it."

Dabi didn't even try to hide the grin. "All that effort," he said, like a man reciting the punchline to a dead joke. "For nothing."

The surviving Ryuu clone stumbled forward, wrapped in Momo's arm. The rest of the gang were gathered on his back, half-bloodied, some coughing, a few limping.

Something whistled through the air.

Thunk.

Straight into Machia's open mouth.

The dumb bastard gulped on reflex. Confused grunt.

Then the air spoke. "Hehe. I am Ryuu's Blade. Invisible Hero!"

Silence cracked like a windshield.

The villain squad turned at once. Compress stared in shock. Geten froze. Spinner blinked. Dabi's jaw clenched.

The capsule had made it in.

Machia twitched.

The real dose had been airborne, launched by a ghost no one tracked.

"Shit," Dabi muttered.

The clone grinned, patted Toru's hair, "Good job." Then melted like slush under a heatlamp.

Momo stood up fast. "The more he moves, faster the drug hits. Ryuu gave us the chance. Now we bring them down!"

"HOOOO!!"

It wasn't clean. It wasn't organized. It was everyone screaming at once and sprinting like this was the last lap of the war.

Gigantomachia flinched. Not from pain. More like a tickle down his spine. The drug was kicking in, slow, messy, and mean.
