Cherreads

Chapter 192 - Tiger

Mirko left, and I was alone with abominations. One split down the spine like a pinata made of tumors, birthing limbs that looked like it lost a bet with biology. Ripped its own back open, birthed another set of limbs mid-run. Great. Another body to beat like a drum.

The first tackled, I side-stepped. Momentum stacked, [Impact Overflow] building. Swung WEM low, piston drive catching behind the knee. Snap. It dropped. The trunk thing screamed.

Some goo spat out like a water balloon full of acid regrets. Hit the wall beside me, melted straight through the steel beam like it was jet fuel.

"You spitting battery acid now?" I slid in under its reach. Ice burst from my left palm and locked its feet to the floor. I vaulted, hit its throat with WEM full swing.

Second one caught me mid-air.

Its ribcage bloomed open and clamped down.

Fuck.

Tried to twist, but it crushed my arms tight. The ribs bent, reshaped like they were trying to snap me like celery.

[Slippery Bastard] triggered.

I exhaled hard and twisted sideways, popped one shoulder. Slid halfway out before it jerked and pulled me back.

Cool. Playing hard to get.

I tucked my knees in and slammed them straight into its chin. Bone cracked. It dropped me. I landed, rolled, snagged WEM off the ground and spun.

Jet-thrusters from behind.

"Fuck!"

Dove flat as one torpedoed by overhead, smashing into the wall. I whipped Hemothread out on reflex. It snaked after the bastard and looped around a leg. Yanked mid-drag. It flipped, crashed into the downed one. Both stumbled. The jet-freak rolled to its feet behind them, smoke still leaking from its joints. One eye socket caved in. Didn't stop it. Bastard screamed like a dive-bomber and launched again.

I sprinted.

A fourth High-End blocked the hall ahead, too tall, too twitchy. Shoulder quirk flaring, spraying distortion like heatwaves. Vision warped near it. Couldn't gauge distance.

Didn't matter.

I ran anyway.

One tried intercepting.

Caught me across the gut.

Loud crunch. Body folded over. Vision flickered.

[Fuck You, I'm Alive] triggered.

I dropped to a knee. Still conscious.

"You hit like an old man's fart."

The one behind swung again. I rolled sideways, ribs screaming, then shoved Hemothread into the floor. Used it to whip me upright, backhanded with WEM into the one on my left. Got a cheekbone. Not enough.

My heels slipped, jet-pressure cracked the tile as another came for me. I twisted, caught the arm, and used it to throw myself over its back. Mid-spin, I slammed my foot into its exposed spine and kicked off.

Ice shot from my palm mid-air. Covered the floor in slick frost. Three skidded as they charged.

I landed. Bat ready.

"You freaks want my attention so bad, line up and suck my left nut in alphabetical order. I am not going down until one of you remembers how to finish a damn job."

The goo-spitter roared again. That trunk was twitching.

Too late.

Mirko's voice clicked in through comms. "Shigaraki sighted. Going."

"Take his face. Bring me something to piss on."

She said nothing back.

I turned.

It rocketed forward again.. I sidestepped, yanked Hemothread, redirected him into the trunk-thing. Both crashed. One tried forming a new arm from its spine.

Gross.

WEM hit it before it could finish. Mass mode slammed down, piston burst. Its skull cratered halfway.

They regrouped.

Five of them now, forming a half-circle. The split one had already grown another ribcage. The big one distorted light again, arms twitching like antennas picking up FM porn channels.

I walked forward anyway.

[Endless Momentum MAX.]

[Warpath]

[Spiteful Resilience]

[Gambler's Grit].

"You are all beef, no brains, and still couldn't kill a teenager high on spite. You really want to find out how many bones I can break before your regeneration gives up?"

No answer. Just the sound of jets flaring and tendons snapping.

"Good. Let's see if I can carve my name into your goddamn foreheads."

I chuckled, quickly turning into a full laughter.

Endless Momentum was maxed. Stacks hit the ceiling. I could probably punch God in the teeth right now and send the molars to orbit. Pulse Shred burned under my skin, pulsing like a war drum.

I drew fire and ice into Storm Fist, heat crashing into cold until the air around me snapped and twisted like it was trying to escape the room. My fist lit with blue-white lightning fire, veins glowing like they were trying to punch their way out of my arm. The ice crawled from my other hand, sharp and fast, coating everything in reach like winter on speed. The fusion sparked, cracked the floor.

"Hehehe," I laughed, flexing my knuckles. "This is going to be the strongest fist I have ever thrown."

Mirko turned over her shoulder. "Ryuu. We are underground."

I grinned. Whole damn jaw. "Move, Mirko. Time to level this shithole and Pale Bitch with it."

She didn't say anything. Just bolted. Moving out already, pulling Garaki with herself.

I stayed.

The High-Ends circled like I was dinner and they forgot how fire worked. The one with a distorted face clicked, something between laughter and a dying modem. Another unfurled arms that had no business having that many joints.

"Hehe, you bastards can regenerate, right? Good. Because I want you to remember the moment your sorry excuse for regeneration try to survive this."

They twitched.

The energy shifted colors, no longer just tiger-red. Now it burned purple and white, like a solar flare dipped in dry ice. The whole limb looked wrong, a silhouette against light, leaking frost and flame like a busted reactor. The ground cracked. My boots slipped half an inch from pressure alone.

I slammed my foot forward.

The floor shattered.

All six charged at me as I pulled the punch back. Not like a street brawl, this was a six-car pileup with jet engines duct-taped to the sides. The hallway went from narrow to nonexistent, walls shaking, floor splitting, air torn up by jet bursts, claws, and mutant roars. They came at once, stacked on top of each other like a mosh pit of bad decisions and worse biology.

Storm Fist flared in my right arm. It burned too bright. Too fast. Like a sun mid-seizure, and the edges pulsed with jagged arcs that looked more like hatred than heat. It growled. Not metaphorically. It made a sound, and the sound wanted blood.

I stepped forward and threw the punch.

Not aimed at one.

Aimed at everything.

The air imploded. Not exploded, imploded, then reversed, a shockwave swallowing itself then detonating again in every direction. Storm Fist cracked the space around me. Walls caved, beams snapped, three Nomu were thrown off the ground mid-charge and folded in the air like busted tents. Two didn't even react, just ceased having upper bodies.

The last reached me as the wave broke. I grabbed its throat mid-swing, the leftover blast from the punch still radiating through skin and nerve. It gurgled, or maybe that was its windpipe liquefying. Either way, it didn't get a second try.

The punch kept going. It wasn't a strike, it was a purge. The shockwave ate through walls, floor, and everything dumb enough to exist in front of me. Steel folded. Ceiling cracked open. Fire alarms melted without even going off.

The hospital cracked open like a ribcage on impact. The air collapsed in on itself before the sound even reached the far end. Light twisted. Ceiling dropped three inches from above, groaned like something ancient and tired. I stepped forward through the ash.

Every corridor ahead of me stopped existing.

The wall behind Garaki's last defense line detonated on contact. The tanks lining the containment zone ruptured before the flames even touched them. Liquid glass sprayed out, melting halfway in air. One High-End halfway fused to the floor didn't even get to stand up before it exploded across the wall like paste through a fan.

At the far end of the room, past insulation dripping like melted cheese and what used to be steel walls now warped like ramen noodles, stood a tank. The punch's shockwave hit it just as the screen blinked, 75%. Pale Bitch opened his eyes.

The decay hit before the glass even cracked.

Air around him folded. My attack, the floor, the tank, all of it went gray, crumbling from the inside out. Decay spread like mold on fast-forward, eating the concrete, the wires, the corpses nearby.

I leapt back, hard. Heat turned cold in my lungs, ice forming behind my teeth.

Shigaraki stepped out from what was left of the tank. Hair white. Skin half-pale, half-burning off. The shit around him broke just by being near. His foot hit the ground and it collapsed in flakes.

He twitched. Then blinked.

He looked straight at me, like the punch had never happened.

"Ryuu Midoriya."

I clicked my tongue. "Oh, you still remember. Was hoping Garaki's rape probe fried your memory."

He tilted his head, looked at his hands like they were something new. Skin flaked off like ash.

Traits:

Bio-Augmented Core - Body rebuilt through advanced quirk-tech integration. Resistant to trauma, poisons, temperature extremes, and high-speed impact. Internal systems no longer fully human.

Singularity Engine - The fusion of AFO's enhancements with Decay created a hostile Quirk environment. Shigaraki now warps quirk fields nearby, weakening or disrupting enemy abilities unless overwhelmingly strong.

Instinctual Predator - Learned from battle. Adjusts tactics in real-time. Targets high-priority threats. Exploits gaps mid-attack. Doesn't just lash out, he hunts.

Entropy Zone - Any surface he touches acts as a decaying conduit. Ground, air, armor, nothing survives long. Standard evasive tactics are neutralized if within his radius.

I whistled.

"Goddamn."

The list in front of me felt like a roster of war crimes wrapped in skin. I reached out to Ragdoll through the link.

"Evacuate the city."

She snapped back like I just asked her to blow the moon up.

"The city!? Are you out of your mind?"

I ignored her. Reaching for Endeavor instead.

"Empty the fucking city. Now."

Concrete collapsed around us, chunks crashing like thunder, dust choking the light overhead. Some wide as dinner tables, some the size of regrets. Shigaraki stood dead center as if none of it mattered. Anything near him decayed into gray flakes, tiles, rebar, air ducts, it all rotted away without him lifting a finger. I shifted my foot as a beam fell past, crumbling before it landed.

His eyes didn't move. Mine didn't either.

Neither of us said shit.

He just stood there, rotting the world like it pissed him off by existing. I stood opposite, WEM gripped loosely in hand.

"You've come far."
