Chapter 169 - Back to Agency!

Image At the End!

---

I dragged my ass out of bed, still sore from the sheer amount of bullshit I had been roped into during the break. When "vacation" ended, had to deal with commission, then cooking, keeping Eri from committing homicide with her new hoverboard, and dealing with Nejire's shameless bullshit, I was ready to return to school just for a damn break.

Not that the universe would let me have one.

Forced Internships kicked off immediately, and it did not take long for shit to go sideways.

Izuku looked like he had just been hit with a truck. His head was buried in his arms on the table, groaning like his soul had left his body.

"What do you mean Nighteye doesn't want you?" I asked, taking a sip of coffee.

He groaned louder. "He said he feels inadequate after how he handled the whole Eri thing. Your approach was correct, and as a person who admires All Might most, his words, he should have prioritized the safety of a kid above all. And on top of that, he clashed with you for just doing that and even threatened to revoke your Provisional License. He went full-on mental. It seems he is returning to being a Sidekick."

I raised a brow. "I am god."

"Shut the fuck up and help me," he muttered into the table.

I shrugged. "Wanna join me with Mirko and Ryukyu?"

Nejire, who had taken over Mom's kitchen like she lived here now, nodded. "Yeah, it would be fun."

Izuku shook his head. "I would just be a shadow there."

I frowned. "I mean, yeah, probably. Even I shadow myself sometimes."

Nejire snorted. "Mood."

Mom slid a plate of food in front of me, shaking her head. "So what are you going to do now, Izuku?"

He sighed. "I have no idea. I don't even know who would take me in."

Eri, swinging her legs from her chair, tugged on his sleeve. "Can't you ask All Might?"

He gave her a small smile. "He doesn't have an agency anymore, Eri."

She frowned. "Why not make your own agency? Then you are the boss."

Nejire gasped dramatically. "Genius. You can be the CEO of 'Midoriya is Mightiest.'"

Izuku groaned. "Please don't."

Mom leaned against the counter. "Well, you need to find somewhere fast. The Commission won't wait for you to figure things out."

I hummed. "Endeavor is always an option. He would probably take you in. Todoroki said so right?"

He nodded as he dashed off. "I will speak to him."

---

Eri giggled as I pressed another kiss to her cheek, squirming in my arms. "Ryuu, stop!"

"Never," I said, kissing the top of her head for good measure.

She tried to push me away, but she was smiling too hard to be serious. "You are silly."

"That is what they keep telling me," I said, setting her down.

Mom was already watching, arms crossed, unimpressed. "Are you leaving or staying here to annoy me all day?"

"Both," I said, stepping forward to hug her. She sighed but kissed my cheek. "Don't cause trouble while I am away."

"Don't be stupid while you are gone," she shot back.

"That is literally impossible."

Nejire laughed, wrapping an arm around Mom's shoulder in her usual shameless way. "We will take good care of him!"

Mom sighed. "That is what worries me."

We grabbed our bags and headed out, the cold biting but not enough to be a problem. The station was just ahead, and I could already see Uraraka and Tsuyu waiting.

Uraraka spotted us first and immediately huffed. "You two are finally here!"

Tsuyu, standing next to her, glanced at her phone. "We were waiting for ten minutes."

Uraraka shot her a glare. "Still long enough."

Nejire stretched her arms behind her head. "Man, you guys are way too awake for this time of day."

Uraraka crossed her arms. "I had to wake up early for this, so you are all suffering with me."

I smirked. "Oh no, whatever will we do."

Uraraka muttered something under her breath and pulled her scarf up. "Whatever. Let's just go."

I adjusted my bag. "Where are we sitting?"

"Middle," Tsuyu said. "It will be less crowded."

---

Tsuyu sighed, leaning against the train window. "Thankfully, Ryukyu accepted us back. Some are still searching for agencies."

Nejire stretched her arms over her head. "Of course. You guys did a great job in that Shia… something-something raid."

Uraraka huffed, crossing her arms. "We hardly fought."

I patted her head. "Nah, you did good."

She floated us both with my hand still on her head. "Don't pet me."

I chuckled, kicking my legs slightly, swimming in the air like a dumbass. "This is fun."

Tsuyu flicked my ankle with her tongue, pulling me back down. "Don't make a scene."

I landed back in my seat, smirking. "As if anyone in this city has time to care about us."

Nejire was scrolling through her phone. "Honestly, they probably do. The last time you made the news, it was because of that interview where you roasted that one hero's entire career."

I shrugged. "Not my fault he asked stupid questions."

Uraraka shook her head. "I still don't get how you keep getting away with this."

"Because he is an agent of chaos," Nejire muttered, tapping her screen. "Oh, look, someone made a fan account for you."

Tsuyu glanced at her. "Again?"

Nejire nodded. "This one is dedicated to your quotes."

I leaned in. "What is the name?"

She grinned. "Midoriya Wisdom."

"Meh, better than Midoriya Ryuu Maid Dress Lovers Fan Club."

Nejire gasped dramatically. "Oh my god, I forgot about that!"

Uraraka turned the phone around. "Found it."

Two side-by-side images. The first? A giga chad edit of me, bat in hand, looking like I was about to declare war on hero society. Underneath, the caption:

"I will burn this city down before I let her go back."

The second image?

Me. In a maid dress. Blushing. Holding a feather duster like I was about to do something unspeakable to Nighteye's office.

"Nighteye-sama, I-I-It's not like I disobeyed orders because I like you or anything! Baka!!"

Nejire wheezed. "Oh my god, it is still hilarious."

Uraraka wiped a tear. "They even added the anime blush filter."

Tsuyu stared at the image. "You look cute."

I shrugged, "I am always cute."

Nejire patted my head. "Aww, don't be shy. It is a work of art."

Uraraka scrolled down. "Oh, look. Comments." She cleared her throat. "User QuirklessHero92 says, 'Bro went from bat-wielding menace to blushing tsundere real quick.'"

Tsuyu read over her shoulder. "Endeavor'sSideBitch69 says, 'This is why he is the strongest. True duality.'"

Nejire burst out laughing. "Oh, come on. That is funny."

It was.

---

The train pulled into the station, and we grabbed our bags. Ryukyu's agency wasn't far, so we cut through the crowd, ignoring the occasional glance from people who recognized us. It didn't take long to reach the entrance.

The doors slid open, and a familiar voice greeted us. "Ah, you are here."

Ryukyu stood near the front desk, arms crossed. She looked us over. "Nejire, Tsuyu, Uraraka." Then she turned to me, already cursing fate bringing us together. "Ryuu."

I nodded. "Boss."

Before either of us could say anything else, a blur shot through the air, and my ribs exploded in pain as I ricocheted across the room. The floor broke my fall, and by "broke," I meant I skid across it like a hockey puck.

Then Mirko was on top of me, yanking me up by the collar before pulling me into a hug. "What's up, shorty?"

I looked down at her. "I am taller."

She shoved my shoulder, forcing me to buckle just enough that she was looking down on me now. "What's up, shorty?"

I sighed. "You are."

She grinned. "Damn right I am."

Nejire snorted. "You two are so predictable."

Tsuyu tilted her head. "They have a system."

Uraraka crossed her arms. "It is a dumb system."

I dusted myself off, ignoring how hard Mirko was grinning. "You got stronger," she said, cracking her knuckles. "Didn't go flying as far this time."

I rolled my shoulders. "Still felt like getting hit by a truck."

She looked pleased. "Good."

Ryukyu sighed. "Mirko, can you not break my interns five minutes into their shift?"

Mirko waved her off. "He can take it. Also he is my intern."

Ryukyu rubbed her temple. "That is not the point."

I smirked. "It is fine. Builds character."

She gave me a long look, probably debating whether she actually wanted to deal with my bullshit this early in the morning. Then she shook her head and turned back to the others. "Alright, let's go over assignments."

We followed her into the main office, Mirko still grinning like she was waiting for an excuse to fight me again. Nejire nudged my side. "So, what is the plan? More patrols?"

Ryukyu nodded. "Yes. Things have been tense lately. Villain activity's been climbing."

Tsuyu adjusted her scarf. "Anything specific?"

Ryukyu sat on the edge of her desk. "The League's been quiet, which is never a good sign. But more than that, there's been an increase in organized crime… smaller groups trying to take advantage of the power vacuum left after Shie Hassaikai fell."

Uraraka frowned. "So, new villains trying to rise up?"

"More like old ones trying to claw their way back," Mirko said. "And dumbasses trying to make a name for themselves."

I leaned back against the wall. "So, business as usual."

"More or less," Ryukyu said. "But that doesn't mean we can slack off. Nejire, Uraraka and Tsuyu you will be with me. Ryuu" She sighed. "You are with Mirko."

Nejire gave me a pitying look. Uraraka muttered, "Well, there goes city property."

Mirko clapped my shoulder hard enough to rattle my bones. "Hell yeah. Best pairing."

Ryukyu pinched the bridge of her nose. "This is not a competition."

"It is now," Mirko said.

I grinned. "So what is the score?"

"You are losing."

Tsuyu blinked. "What are they competing in?"

Nejire sighed. "Everything. It is exhausting."

Ryukyu didn't even try to stop us. She just handed out the patrol schedules and shooed us out. "Get to work."

I turned to the girls. "You three get ready. I need to catch up with Ryukyu and Mirko. Adult stuff."

Ryukyu smacked the back of my head. "Phrasing."

I grinned as Nejire, Tsuyu, and Uraraka headed out, then shut the door behind them. My smile dropped. "Shit is getting bad, but the Commission is keeping a lid on it. Even from two top-ten heroes."

Mirko frowned. "What are they hiding?"
