Leo's red eyes softened as they moved from the letter to Lysa, standing shyly near Liana by the door. He walked to her, crouching to her level, voice gentle.
"Hey, little girl, did you get some rest?"
Lysa's little face brightened and her eyes glowed with a timid, gullible smile. "Yes," she said in a quiet but distinct whisper.
"Is Liana looking after you well?"
Her voice was a little louder as she nodded once more. "Everyone has been really kind to me."
"That's good," Leo said, softly ruffling her hair with a gentle yet warm touch akin to a big brother's tenderness. He spoke in a sly whisper as he leaned closer. "I've got some news for you, Lysa. Your father's coming to Lucian's birthday banquet to take you home."
Lysa froze, eyes wide with disbelief, voice shaky. "R-really?"
"Really. You'll see him soon."
