Nathan's POV
I sat in the room alone as the morning sun shone through the window over my bed. I had accepted that I was a prisoner here—there was no clearer reality than the one I had found myself in.
I had washed up earlier, scrubbing so hard it was like I was trying to feel enough pain to convince myself this wasn't real, that this wasn't my life.
But when I stepped out of the bathroom, I was met with the same unflattering room.
Suddenly, the door opened. I turned to see two guards stepping in. They were built like towers—tall and broad.
"The Alpha wants to see you."
I blinked, confused. "Me?"
"Yes. Now," one responded.
I got up slowly. I had a number of reasons why the Alpha might want to see me, but I really didn't want to dwell on it. So I just followed them wordlessly.
My mind was racing, and fear crept through me. The Alpha hadn't hidden his desire, so that was the only thing imprinted in my thoughts.
